An exciting romantic suspense. An intriguing page turner. The setting is interesting and adds color to the tale. Cowboys, horses, native Americans, oh my. Are there any good guys? Family issues. Some surprises. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. The minimal intimate details were appreciated. No need for descriptions that go on and on. I skip those anyway.
Whenever I see a book by Patricia Rosemoor, it gets my attention. I have read quite a few of her books and enjoyed them. Of course, some more than others. But still it was worth checking out. And I wasn't disappointed, it was intense like so many of her books.
Reies and Libby both give their own P.O.V.'s which I enjoyed. It wasn't done in a blow by blow rehashing way by each character that I dislike. So another point right there. Libby is tough and determined to find the truth about the murder of her father and brother. She also places herself in danger by just poking her nose into those mysteries. Someone would rather she be dead than complete her mission.
Reies is intense all on his own. But he's also been hurt deeply by others and keeps himself guarded to prevent more. Both of them have their own pain but their attraction is also pretty strong.
There really a good sense of world building especially when it came to the ranch, town and the local surroundings.
This town reminded me of the Wild Wild West and that was shown really well. There were really good people in the town but they were terrified of all the bullies who had a choke hold on the area. It was made clear that there really was no law in the area. Add to that the fact that "Outsiders" were NOT welcome. They didn't need to put out a shingle with that warning. It was made clear as day.
Pilar, what a piece of work she was...But then again she's not the only one.
All in all this was a good story with romance, and plenty of suspense, and action.

Libby is a city cop who goes to Sidewinder to find out who murdered her father and brother. She goes undercover as a reporter doing a story on Rancho Velasquez. But she thinks the killer is one of the inhabitants of the ranch. Reies left Sidewinder years ago but came back to help the fledging ranch. He’s not happy with a reporter being on the land but can do nothing to stop it, since his grandfather is pleased to have her there. Someone else doesn’t want Libby there and accidents befall her. Can they find the killer before it’s too late?
Good story with romance, suspense, and action. A woman who’ll stop at nothing to find her brother and fathers killers. A man who has closed himself off from love.

I love Patricia Rosemoor's romantic suspense and in Sidewinder she has written a double murder mystery that draws you in and keeps you engaged throughout the story
Libby Tate is a police officer from Santa Fe who has gone to Sidwwinder undercover to try to solve two murders both very close to her Years earlier her father was gunned down in the town and no one was ever charged with the murder then just six months ago her brother a state trooper was also killed on the outskirts of this lawless town. She uses a cover as a photojournalist doing a in depth report on the Veleasquez ranch to try to solve the murders but with tension in the family and a deep attraction to the grandson and saviour of the ranch Reies Coultier who she isn't sure she can trust can she solve the murders or will she become the third member of her family to die in this one small lawless town.
Sidewinder is Patricia Rosemoor’s latest release and thrills readers with an exciting romantic suspense. As with many of Rosemoor’s previous books, Sidewinder is beautifully descriptive and makes you feel as though you can actually see the landscape through the author’s eyes. With an intriguing plot filled with action, family drama, and a woman determined to solve tragedy of her loved one’s deaths; Sidewinder is definitely an edge of your seat, page turner that will hold you within its grip till the last page is turned.
This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.
Wow, what an exciting drama as Libby tries to find out who killed her father and her brother and her top suspect, Reies, turns out to be a nice guy and someone she could fall in love with.
There are multiple "accidents" and deliberate attempts on her life and there is a large group of suspects and each has a very good motive for the murders. There is so much that Reies and Libby have to work through and you wonder if they can ever find their HEA.
There are some heart wrenching facts revealed and you feel for Reies and Libby as the find out the truth and how it affects them.
