I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A raw, haunting and deeply potent collection.

Beautiful words, a fine literary collection. Lovers of poetry and the power of verse should give this book a visit.

This was a solid modern poetry book!
My only complaint would be the excess of repetitions that at times instead of emphasising the main idea only got a bit annoying and tiring to read. Overall this collection read fast and it was pleasant. The dark topics it dealt with such as abuse and discrimination were well mentioned and developed as the flow of thought. I really enjoyed the references and analogies with literary works. I think all poetry lovers would enjoy these poems and not only! I would highly recommend this book to other readers who have an interest in feminism and race discrimination.
It was a nice debut book and I'm glad I got around to read it!

Review - Heart-breaking !
Awesome !

This poetry book consists of poems merely based on sadness, loneliness, racial discrimination and Philosophies of various situation.
Although, It comprises excellent verse where reader would stop and started analyzing various things as per the vivid rhythm and flow of poems. Nonetheless Darkness & sadness how it affects a person and their instinct was clearly depict in few poems beautifully.

Recommended to Poetry lovers ! !

Some good lines-
*"But you hold the wrong tackle
You don’t know me
Because you didn’t make me
You wish that I was anchored
Anchored to the haven
But I will sail the river of life,
Even without wind"

*"If you told me that life is not easy
If you told me that people hurt others
If you told me family is overrated
If you told me that school

*School is an exercise to servanthood
I would have scoffed and run away
Because I wouldn’t have known"
