Oh, what a solid start to a series. Laiyla let her insecurities and desire to please her parents force her to walk away from the first (and only?) love years ago. A chance meeting gives her the two best friends she could hope for, but she still misses that love. Until....she heads back to where it all started.

Levi has tried to live his life, knowing that his One has left him in the dust, but he just can’t. Then his One comes back, and he’s stuck with conflicting feelings of love, pain, anger, and fear that this time won’t be enough for her either.

Laiyla and Levi both have some growing left to do, but they manage to work through their issues together. But, as is life in a small town, many people aren’t okay with Laiyla’s return. So she has to prove herself to the man she never stopped loving and a town full of naysayers at the same time.

I enjoyed Levi and Laiyla, their friends, their family, and their town (once Laiyla found an unlikely ally, that is), and I’m interested to see what comes next.

Omg!! This better be a series!! Lol this book was everything!! I absolutely loved it! I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a series?! The characters are so interesting and likeable, I just can't wait for more! This book was funny but also had some heartache and heartbreak! And it was 🔥🔥🔥! I'm just so in love with these characters! I especially loved how the author didn’t dwell on the past story. With second chance love stories I typically find the back story takes up as much book as present. That is not the case here which was refreshing.

Overall a very well written book that I would recommend to friends to read.

I love Skye's writing. Her words flow and the interactions between the characters are easy to read. So I'd always give her 5 plus for her writing. This storyline though landed at a 3 (resulting average of 4). It was tough to connect with the characters - Laiyla seemed too wimpy to her parents and Levi was too wimpy towards what happened when they were 18. They both needed to buck up and work through their stuff. They finally did and the ending was great - but it felt like the story had a thread of sadness until the last few pages. I am hopeful given how interested the other characters are the next story will be great.

IN TOO DEEP -Wildfire Lake Series is the first book in a new series and it's a great opener, realistic and extremely believable plot. With characters that make you feel, A great read which makes you want to read more books in the series.

Absolutely enjoyed this story of young love being rekindled.
I enjoyed the main characters, and was able to relate to their emotional struggles in regards to their relationship and the ripple effect that it might bring, especially for our main female character.
The friendships and family dynamics I really enjoyed, as they were for the most part supportive and loving.

I haven’t read any other books by this author. It was not a name I recognised but after finishing this one and really enjoying it I looked on Amazon only to find she has written quite a few, all with really good feedback. I will definitely be adding the author to my must read list.
I really enjoyed this story and was sorry to finish it. I hope it was the first of a series of 3 as I would really enjoy getting a glimpse into the HEA for the other 2 friends. Leiyla and Levi were great characters and their interactions with each other and the others in the book made great escapist reading.

This is the first book that I have read from Sky Jordan. I loved it! Laiyla ends up back at her late grandpas lake property which was left to her when he passed years previous. She runs into her ex boyfriend Levi who she just left without a goodbye twelve years ago. I liked the characters and how the story developed. I can’t wait to read the next characters book.

This was probably one of the sweetest romance novels I have read this year. A second chance romance following Laiyla and Levi.

Laiylas parents control her life leading her and Levi‘s relationship to end when they’re teenagers.
After a near death experience brings her and two other women together they start an empowering friendship, in which the three go out of their way to support each other.
The book then fast forward seven years To the trios 30th birthday where they stay and celebrate at the property where Laiyla and Levi fell in love.
The yearning between the two characters is extremely well done and believable. I loved it. The romance is sweet and steamy in all the right places and you can’t help but cheer for the two.

Skye Jordan is off to a running start with her new series. It is an excellent second chance romance that introduces current book characters, as well as upcoming book characters that you can’t wait to learn more about. In Too Deep is about connections with the people in your life who make it complete. The characters were very real and believable. It was a page turner from beginning to end and I can’t wait for more in this series!

In Too Deep is a sweet, second chance romance. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how much I instantly fell in love with these characters. Besides the obvious romance angle, Laiyla's personal journey of finding herself was something I really enjoyed seeing, and I found myself falling just as much in love with the friendship she finds with KT and Chloe as the rekindled romance between her and Levi.

What made this book so enjoyable was that Laiyla and Levi's relationship was so easy to believe. Jordan does a fantastic job relating the heartache, personal stories and emotion of the characters to the reader without making it seem unrealistic or cheesy. Usually, I"m not a fan of changing POV, but for In Too Deep, I felt like it was absolutely necessary to understand how and why Laiyla and Levi have become the people they are, and how they change to become the best versions of themselves.

All in all, this was a great read and I was so sad that it was over so quickly. I would highly recommend this book for anyone looking for a introspective, feel good read!

Gosh I LOVED this book! It has everything I like. Big city girl moves back to the small town where she had the best summers of her life after her granddad has died and has left his big property to her. She originally goes there on a trip with two of her best friends, and I adored the way the author handled the friendships in this book, and just relationships in general. All of the connections felt so real and genuine, and the chemistry between Levi and Lailya was off the charts! I can't wait to read the romance between the hot cop and Cloe 😏. I have definitely found a new favorite author!

I loved this simple yet charming love story.
Laiyla and Levi were childhood best friends, spending many summers together when she visited her grandfather near where Levi lived. As they grew up they morphed into lovers and vowed to always be together. But Laiyla's wealthy parents had other plans for her life and sent her to Paris to work. Both were left heartbroken, and never got over that special love they shared.
Twelve years later, Laiyla has inherited her grandfather's house and has returned to see it. But, it is in a state of disrepair, and her and her friends agree to fix it up and turn it into their newest adventure. So what happens when the best contractor in town happens to be Levi, and the chemistry is as strong as ever? Laiyla needs to stand up to her controlling parents, find a way to make Levi trust her again, and rebuild the beautiful legacy her grandfather left her. Can she do all of that and find the happiness she deserves?
Loved the characters, the plot flowed smoothly from scene to scene and I rooted for them all. Truly enjoyed this.

A great adult romance with a perfect level of steam ! I loved Levi and Laiyla , I’m biased as I’m a sucker for second chance romance so this was always going to be a great read for me. My first book in this series but I’m definitely going to read the others now. Addictive and entertaining reading

It has been a while since I have read a book by Skye Jordan but I remembered loving her science fiction/paranormal books written under the name of Joan Swan so this was a pleasant surprise to see on NetGalley. In Too Deep is the first of what looks to be trilogy. I will say that she has only gotten better over the years as a writer when she already wrote a compelling read years ago. This story has one of the most intriguing prologues I have read. I couldn’t figure out from the first few pages where this story was going when it did not match up with the description. However, seamlessly it all fell into place wonderfully. It is described as fresh and sexy and it certainly is that.

The back story of Levi and Laiyla is given without anything important missing or being redundant. Then their story moves right on steamrolling into a fast paced but not instant love story. They have a history which has always gotten into the way of their present lives even a part. The friends and family are incredible with me unsure who I want to get their story next. Only I know that I want it to be soon.

The only drawback of the story is the overuse of a certain four letter word. Really these are college educated people they should have more words int hoer vocabulary to describe how they are feeling then that one word. It probably won’t offend many but as an educator I wish that they could have expanded their word usage.

The town isn’t all that happy to see her will she be able to get anyone on her side? Laiyla broke Levi’s heart when she went to Paris and never looked back. Will he be able to put his heart back together and move on? Entertaining second chance romance. Great characters, lots of steam and a sweet story. I liked it.

This is book one in the Wildfire Lake series and it features Laiyla and Levi. This is a very sexy, sweet and steamy Second Chance Romance. My heart aches for Levi and the loss he felt all those years ago. I didn’t care for Laiyla at first. The hold her parents STILL had on her, even all these years later, was very irritating to me. All in all this is a beautiful and entertaining Second Chance Romance. I can’t wait to read Chloe‘s and KT’s stories.

Laiyla can not believe it. Her first 5 minutes in town, and she runs into her teenage love. What are the chances? But can she really give him the commitment he wants? Which means turning her back on her past career, life and what her parents expect of her.

I loved this story! It was my first read by Skye Jordan. I look forward to reading more!

It was a fast read for me. I read it in one day!! Laiyla and Levi were teenage sweethearts that moved apart. Now she’s back in town to fix her grandfather’s property after 12 years apart. I loved the chemistry and spark between them. They were adorable together. Love does conquer! Her best friends were amazing and fun! I’m looking forward to Chloe’s story. Fingers crossed I’m hoping that will be the next book.

This is a sweet second chance romance with a healthy dose of making life long friendships and discovering your truth. Laiyla, KT, and Chloe meet under disastrous circumstances but from a bond that carries them forward on their journeys through life. Each comes from different backgrounds and is fighting their own battles but together they have the unconditional support and love they need to get through.

Laiyla battle is with herself and her being a people pleaser. I'm this case the people she strives to please are her parents, who never seen to be satisfied no matter what she does. Laiyla knows that coming back to her favorite place when she was a kid is going to open old wounds. But she's bound and determined to see it through. What she isn't prepared for is the squalor that the place was left in. The houseboats are in disrepair, the house is gone, there was a landslide, and much more. And to make it even worse, the town doesn't want her here. Laiyla knows that it's her job and her duty to fix everything and bring in more people to help her get the job done, even if it means going against what her parents want of her.

Even before she knew of the run down property that was left to her, her best friends come to her side. They help Laiyla see what it could be, what it will be, and they help her see past the hurt that comes barreling along with it.

Levi isn't prepared to ever see Laiyla again. He knows that. What he doesn't know is how much of a rush he gets from seeing her again, despite his anger towards her. With his new success, he wants Laiyla's uncle's property for himself too, but not at the expense of what Laiyla wants.

As these two navigate their past, the present, and potential future, both will have to fight old demons, forced expectations, and fight for their love. It was a great start to the story, and I can't wait to see Laiyla's friends get their own stories as they are the glue that holds everything together.

What a twist and turn book!! Love the beginning and the angst and drama build up.... I loved the sweet story of past romance between Laiyla and Levi. It is a slow build story that blossoms well. I truly rooted for the couple to grow and become a couple again. The quirky friends were awesome and this is a winner in my eyes. Thank you again for keeping me reading until the end with this wonderful story

My first book by the author and I really enjoyed it.
I love second chance romance and this one hit all the marks for a great story with a bit of everything in it.
From the first chapter to the last, it kept me interested and I loved the friendship between the girls and of course the chemistry and steamy scenes.

Only problem was her parents had their own agenda, and, as a result, what she returned to was a disaster. One person standing in her way is the only contractor in town who will help her, who happens to be the love of her life that she left behind because of her parents’ demands.

Levi has an interest in helping Lailya; when she goes to sell the property, he wants it. What he wants more, however, is the woman who left him behind without a backwards glance. Because of Laiyla, Levi has found it hard to commit to anyone else. He wants a wife and kids, but he can’t move on. The book starts off with Lailya meeting KT and Chloe years earlier. Based on that, I had high hopes she was going to finally make a stand and start living her life for her, not for her parents. Then we move forward six years and she’s still letting her parents run her life. I was a little disappointed with that. I did like that being back at Wildfire Lake seemed to have her changing her tune and she quickly starts thinking for herself and learns, with the help of her friends, how to put herself first.

I liked Levi, for the most part. I thought he was a little too hard on Lailya at times. He holds her responsible for leaving, but at the time she was only seventeen. She had to listen to her parents at that point. I could understand his anger for her not coming back at all though. And for all his determination to keep his heart hardened towards her, he quickly changes his mind.

Lailya’s friends are interesting, and the author sets up possible future relationships for them. I’m interested in learning more about them and seeing what’s in store for them.

With interesting, entertaining characters and a great second chance romance, In Too Deep is one romance fans won’t want to miss.

So enjoyed this book. Walking in the blurb caught my eye and interest was peaked. The first chapter with the backstory weighed me down at first but after I read through I totally understand it more and appreciate it. Levi was the type of character than women dream about. Sexy, steamy, all man and full of kindness, adoration and respect. He was a character than I wanted more of instantly. I really enjoyed how quickly the story progressed. I loved the attraction between the two characters and the sparks that were obviously between them each time they saw each other. Really glad I was able to read this one and will definitely look for more by this author.
