The Talented Tiara contest is only days away before Emeline's ukulele breaks.
Disappointed she won't be able to enter, the sea fortune tellers assures her there is another way. Sent on a journey through the bottom of the sea, Emeline must find the sea wizard's golden ukulele to borrow on one condition--she must believe in magic.
When a jealous classmate tries to stop her, Emeline must unite with her friends, believe in herself, and enter the Talented Tiara contest without any self doubt.
Read Emeline and the Golden Ukulele and enjoy this short, witty chapter book to build reading skills, imagination, and embrace your love for the mermaids under sea.
A beautifully written tale of Friendship with well thought out likeable characters which highlight the importance of believing in yourself in order to achieve success.I loved the way Susan intertwined Magic and self belief in a way that actively encourages the reader/target audience do the same in their own lives... and what was even better? Adding Friendship to the mix, because friendship truly is a magical thing. I would definitely read this book to my child if I had one!

This is a fantastic book for older children, which teaches some wonderful messages, such as how to be kind to others, to be friendly and helpful, to study hard, to be creative, to work with magical energy, to try your best and to never give up. I really loved this book, which was about a girl called Emeline who is a mermaid who lives under the sea in a magical kingdom. She enters the Talented Tiara contest where she plays her ukulele beautifully, however her ukulele breaks and she has to find a replacement so that she can play again in the finals of the contest. Unfortunately, she has trouble with another mermaid who is jealous of her, but in the end she overcomes all obstacles and fulfills her dreams. Emeline has a few friends who are very kind to her and she also meets some magical people who help her. There might even be some romance in the air! I really loved the characters of this book and the story. The magic of the book made me feel very joyful and happy. I highly recommend this wonderful book! Many thanks to the author, publisher and netgalley for allowing me to read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
