"I love how animated the kitty is and how she prances around the street doing her ""cha cha cha"" and shows off her multi-tasking skills with her new friend. They both meet up with a new character and learn the Irish Jig. Loved the facts at the end, especially #6. I had no idea that black cats were considered lucky in two different countries.

Thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for granting me access to an ARC of There's a Kitty in the City in exchange for an honest review.

This a cute preschool level illustrated story about a little girl who comes across a dancing cat (later joined by a dancing pig) who teach her to dance with them. It's told in rhyming verse that flows well and will delight young children, and these are paired with adorable illustrations that are quite fun to look at.

There is also a bonus list of 10 facts about cats to teach to your children included at the end of the story.

I would recommend this to all the parents and preschool/kindergarten/primary teachers in my life.

Another storybook by the author SUSAN KINSEY that managed to impress me. Masterfully incorporated rhyming verses, arranged in fascinating illustrations, once again managed to interest my girl and gave us the opportunity to travel together in the world of stories and tales, enjoying our time together and exploring the world around us.
As in the previous picture book we read, here too the author follows two different paths in her creation.
The seemingly meaningless story about the cat dancing cha cha cha, contains many elements that in a very interesting way give the children knowledge about parts of the world around us. The mere mention of the dance cha cha cha arouses interest in children to learn something more and to try to imitate the movements of the familiar dance. The cat as a character is especially accentuated as a friend of children, someone who needs to be cared for and protected. This is especially important, to develop empathy in the children for pets, as part of the family, and not as a toy that can be played with and set aside. The added facts about cats and their nature are just another great plus for the storybook, something that gives kids the opportunity to get to know all the details about this animal.
And what additionally thrilled me was the way the cat dances on the street, with traffic lights and pedestrian crossings, which gave me, as a parent, another opportunity to talk about safety in traffic with my child, using the cat as an example.
If I continue, I'm sure I'll find more reasons why this book is a great choice for preschoolers and families. Definitely, this author and her works are the number 1 choice in our family.

Another great book from this set of books that my 4 year old loved!
Nice snappy rhymes which made it so easy to read, and the storyline of a dancing cat made my daughter laugh.

This is a cute but bizarre children's book about a girl who sees a dancing cat and a dancing pig who show her how to dance with them. The illustrations are very bright and colourful and the story is told in rhyming words. My daughter thought this book was funny and she seemed to enjoy it. I really liked the cat facts at the end of the book.

Thanks to the author, publisher and netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The third book by this author that I’ve had the opportunity to review. Like the others it’s a rhyming story, simple but delightful. I love the fact that there is also a page after the story to teach the younger audience about cats, the subject of the story.

This illustrated childrens book about a cat is adorable. I would buy it for my son since he loves cats. The illustrations are very vibrant and I love that the words rhyme as one is reading the story. I would buy this as a birthday present for a party. Its a very cute story. I also love that the author dedicated it to her cat. Cat people unite!

Another fun book from Susan Kinsey! This book has a kitty going around town in a beautiful dress doing the Cha Cha. The rhyming text, fantastic illustrations, and fun atmosphere will keep your child interested in this story. I love that the kitty was able to buy a dress for the little girl and the little girl thought nothing of it she just thanked the kitty and joined her in the Cha Cha.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

The cha cha cha kitty was by far one of the best children's book I read today. Apart from the interactive pictures and an adorable kitty shown in this book, it made me smile throughout the book. Glad to have read it.

Fun rhythmic and rhyming text with a silly and entertaining little dancing cat! Perfect for little ones who love cats.

This is one of those books that has the perfect rhymes, the perfect rhythm and was a fun book to read before bed. Both of my kids loved this one. They jumped up and began to dance like crazy while shouting CHA-CHA-CHA! They also thought that they could begin to juggle, which resulted in objects going flying through the air with CHA CHA CHA being shouted after them. Once the Irish dancing began? Well now they were off singing Wiggles songs about Irish dancing as well.

Grab your dance shoes and let your kids Cha Cha Cha right along with the Kitty in the City.

Side note: the cat looks like Katerina from Daniel Tiger, which sent my daughter into a twirling tailspin. She's convinced that Katerina now also does the cha cha cha!

We really enjoyed this one!

At first, the rhyming seemed to be off a bit. Almost a forced rhyme. But once we met the pig doing the Irish jig, the rhyme scheme was back on and flowed so well!

I read this to my 4 year old as a bedtime story and she loved the cat in the “fancy dress”. We then had a conversation about the cha cha, so she found it so fascinating. The illustrations were so cute.

The facts about cars afterwards was a nice addition. We got to learn as well as be entertained.

Overall, this was adorable! We loved the premise and the characters. Great illustrations.
