Description

We are in Renaissance Italy. Rumors of a foreign threat against the Republic of Florence become real when a Florentine banker vanishes in Milan. Young Nico Argenti is waiting for his first position as a lawyer when he is appointed to a newly formed commission tasked with investigating and eliminating outside dangers to the republic.

Nico’s assignment takes him, and his fellow commission members, to Milan to investigate the disappearance of the Florentine citizen whose abduction turns into murder. Other abductions follow. Nico's diligence and legal training let him link those crimes to a conspiracy designed to pit the Republic of Florence against the Duchy of Milan.

Aiding Nico are Vittorio, an experienced criminal investigator who recognizes clues that others miss, and Massimo, whose military prowess is matched by his appeal to women. Defeating the conspiracy takes them through Milan’s bars, pig farms, and courtrooms.

Malice in Milan, the third book in the Nico Argenti series, can be read standalone.
