Description
This is Book 2 in the multi-award-winning Little Polyglot Adventures series and is the sequel to Book 1 (Dylan's Birthday Present).
Summary:
The city zoo is holding a very special event. Today, guests can bring their own pets to the zoo! Of course, all city residents want to join in on the fun. Dylan and Isabella, the little polyglot siblings, see this as a great opportunity for Kiki, Dylan's pet chicken, to meet her animal friends. However, things get a bit out of control when Kiki is left unattended. In this fun and colorful multicultural story, children will learn about the importance of thinking outside the box and using their imagination and creativity to solve difficult problems.
While reading this book, kids will learn six new words/expressions in different languages (link to audio pronunciation of the foreign words can be found in the book).

I loved this book, even more so for its multicultural aspect. Dotted through the story are phrases in other languages with a very useful and unique link in the first few pages that gives an audio clip on pronunciation. An appealing story with lovely illustrations bound to keep children’s interest.

Just read this book to my three and five year old children and they really enjoyed it. It was pretty exciting for them and both them and myself really enjoyed the random world trivia that was added in throughout the story. Also, of course the small potty humor with the elephant section was a hit.

Dylan & Kiki's adventures continue in 'a wild day at the zoo'. It's bring your pet day at the zoo, and Kiki goes missing. It's up to Dylan & his family to get her back. I enjoyed this book more than the first. The giraffe was especially cute. I love that this series is continuing to teach phrases in unique languages.
