Description

*THIS IS AN EXTRACT FROM THE PUSH AND NOT THE WHOLE TEXT*

What if your experience of motherhood was nothing like what you hoped for - but everything you always feared?

'The women in this family, we're different . . .'

The arrival of baby Violet was meant to be the happiest day of my life.

It was meant to be a fresh start.

But as soon as I held her in my arms I knew something wasn't right. I have always known that the women in my family aren't meant to be mothers.

My husband Fox says I'm imagining it. He tells me I'm nothing like my own mother, and that Violet is the sweetest child.

But she's different with me. Something feels very wrong.

Is it her? Or is it me?

Is she the monster? Or am I?

The Push is a heart-pounding exploration of motherhood, obsession and the terrible price of unconditional love.

'With its riveting prose and deep convictions, Ashley Audrain's The Push had me in its clutches from the first page. Audrain's astute portrayal of motherhood was unsettling in its insights, yet highly entertaining on the page. Complex, nuanced, and unflinching, I inhaled this debut in one sitting' Karma Brown, bestselling author of Recipe for a Perfect Wife

I wanted to read on. The sampler spiked my interest to read more. Looking forward to the book so I can learn more about the characters and hear 'her' side of the story.

This book has been top of my 2021 'to read' list for the last little while - I've heard such amazing things, and the description really sounded like my kind of book. And, thankfully, it's just as good as everyone has been saying.

The sampler gives a brief but chilling introduction to the novel that will have the reader hooked from the start of it until the end (and leave them wanting so much more). I can't wait to read it in full in January.

Ohh wow although it was a small snippet, I loved it and its making me more excited to read the rest! It makes me wonder what happened and why she needs to get her side across.

*******SAMPLER ONLY *******

I have heard about this book from other book reviewers and bloggers and was curious to read this sample. Yes it is only a sample but now I’ve read the sample I cannot wait to read this complete book. The sample I have just read gripped me so tightly and I need to read more of this book as I reckon it’s going to be a top read for 2021.
