New York author Aaron Knight is first and foremost a humorist, and second a parodist of the first order. His own ‘handwritten bio’ tells us as much as we need to know about the reason he writes comedy. -

THE MADONNA DILEMMA is a bit all over the place with diversions of character and ideas and situations, but to offer a tidbit of his writing style is seductive: ‘“Now what does he do with these characters?

‘A famous painting of Madonna is stolen in Rome. Somewhere in the fencing of the masterpiece the painting disappears. An LA art dealer who was to fence the artwork is found murdered. The Madonna is missing since the art dealer was killed. A mob boss, a widow, an associate and an enemy of the dead man are in a panic to find the money or the painting. An LA detective who is only interested in coasting along until early retirement is assigned to the murder case. He finds it impossible to shift the responsibility to anyone else in LAPD. While he fumbles around, the other interested persons are lying, cheating, double crossing others and deceiving the authorities.

Stay with Aaron through the story and soon the hook is in. Silly at times (it seems the author intended that) and a spunky parody of the machinations of law enforcement and other sanctities make this a comedic journey well worth boarding. Grady Harp, June 16 "

this was a really fun mystery, the characters were great and I really enjoyed trying to solve the problems. The author has a great way of making characters feel like real people.

The painting of Madonna has disappeared. It was stolen in Rome and last known in the hands of an art gallery owner who is now dead. There are a number of people who could have murdered him. His wife and her boy friend are good suspects as well as his partner, The mob boss who supplied the painting or any of the other people he came in contact with. The painting has just disappeared and though everyone seems to be out looking nobody has found it.
