Dakota is shocked when 5 years later she meets Lake guy again.
Can the two help each other?
This is my first time reading this author and definitely won't be my last.
I loved the characters and I'm pleased to see there will be more books about the family

This is the first book I have read by Jennifer Millikin, and it won't be the last. I always enjoy books about close families and the bonds that last generations - call me old fashioned, but we do not have enough of these values today. With that in mind, I also enjoy stories of our men and women of the military and how hard they work to rebuild their lives when they come home. For me, this was a very enjoyable read. The only thing I would like to call out is about 2/3 of the way through the book, the writing seemed choppy and did not flow like the remainder of the book. Other than that, it was a very good book and I look forward to reading the other books in the series when they come out.

Fake engagement anyone?
This story is so much more than what the eyes can see. It’s packed with everything from all the ups and downs of a big farm family to the ptsd moments and life after the army for our hero and of course, the chance at a beautiful romance that it’s not missing all suspenseful twists and bumps in her way to that happily ever after.

Wes Hayden as returned from his time in the military to take over the running of the family ranch but there is an outdated rule in the family he needs to be married to take over thee running of the ranch. Meanwhile Dakota Wright shows up anting to purchase a small piece of the ranch so she can fulfil her dream These two have history five years earlier they met at a party at a lake. Wes sees the perfect opportunity he will let her have the land if she will marry him for at least a year seem like a win win situation. Things become much more complicated when they start to fall in love Will their marriage become more than a convenience

I decided to try a new author, and since this was a new series, I knew it was the perfect time to give both a try. Glad I did.
Wes Hayden is back home ready to take over his family’s ranch. But things are not easy.
Dakota Wright shows up at the ranch wanting to purchase 20 acres of the Hayden land. Imagine her shock to see the guy she met 5 years ago .
Both have their agenda and strike a deal, but what happens when feelings develop and what they thought they wanted, might not be what they really want?
The plot was engaging and the characters complex and perfect in their imperfections.
A series that promises to be a real winner.
