Perfect book for children. Loved the drawings and the story. Would be great for parents and teachers.

Two Tails on the Trail is an adorable chapter book for children just learning to read; targeted for children grades kindergarten through grade two.

Well done drawings; i think it would have been cute to add colors in the fingernail paintings section.

Loved the rhyming created by Harry. Y brother has a 2 and 4 year old and I know that when he reads to them, it makes it even more enjoyable when there is rhyming.

I liked the words for further defining are highlighted in bold and further explained at the end of the chapter. I didn’t know hangry was an actual word, but it seems that it was added to the dictionary in 2018. Always nice to learn something new, even when reading a book for K-2 when you are in your 50’s.

Nicely done.

Also, I couldn’t find on GoodReads. I’ll add this to GoodReads once the book has been added. I don’t have privileges to add a book.

Thank you NetGalley and the author for the opportunity to review this book in exchange for an honest review.
(Updated 1/15/2021: book had not been added to GoodReads yet; now that it is added, I've updated with the link.)

This is really cute story for kids about a troll that looks after two dragons and the adventures / mischief they get up to. The illustrations are great as well.

"Two Tails on the Trail" is so fun!
But wouldn't Harry's hair be a troll bun?
The rhyming is great and the illustrations so pretty...
You not reading this book would be a great pity!

Well this is just the cutest book! Piff and Puff reminded me of my cats - they squabble just like dragons, apparently - who knew?

The illustrations are so cute and whimsical. I love the troll's rhymes and how he is technically a hermit, but has dragon-sized spaces in his heart.

If he keeps on getting eggs though, he might need a bigger cave! ;)

Thank you, Netgalley. for the opportunity to read this tale.

Two Tails on the Trail is a fun and educational book for children. It is Book 2 in the Harry's Dragon Tales series. Harry the Troll, former hermit, lives with Piff the Dragon in his cave. One day a surprise visitor arrives, and Harry finds himself the parent of TWO baby dragons!

This story is fun, but also educational as it talks about respectful rules for living together and provides definitions at the end of the chapters for some of the words used in the book. Children will be captivated by the dragons, Piff and Puff, and their adventures.

I received a free copy of this book from the publishers via Netgalley. My review is voluntary.

Harry the troll can’t understand what is going, beep, beep, beep. The sound has not stopped. He gets out of bed to grey smoke. Piff, his small pink dragon wakes and starts crying. Harry picks up Piff and comforts her. When they arrive in the kitchen to get an egg for breakfast, they now hear a strange sound. It goes pufffff, pufffff, pufffff. Harry discovers the egg hatched and there is a baby blue dragon. He doesn’t want another dragon, having one is more than enough work. He tells the blue dragon, he will have to leave. Then Harry changes his mind and tells him, he must leave after breakfast. As the goes on, he decides, that he will let him stay and names him Puff. Piff and Puff makes messes that he has to clean up. Harry is getting angry. What will he do?

In this novel, Harry the troll and his two dragons learn to live together. Harry tells them his rules for living in his cave. One rule was that they must clean up any mess they make. The story is delightful to read and gave me some chuckles! The illustrations in the book are perfect for the story. This book reminds the need for rules, communication and relationships in a family.

Harry and Piff are two lovely dragons who have etched out a nice little existence together. They plod along nicely, one being the pea to the others pod. The Great a rude awakening one day however when the egg they were about to consume for breakfast has arches and their party becomes three. This is a lovely tale of fun and friendship and it shows us that there is always room for more love in our lives.

Cute book for transitional readers. Great bridge between basic early reader and more advanced. My kindergartener loved it!

Harry is a troll and he has a small female dragon as his companion. They are sleeping when all of a sudden the smoke alarm goes off...

BooksGoSocial and Net Galley let me read this book for review (thank you). It has beenpublished and you can get a copy now.

Harry finds that one of eggs he was going to have for breakfast just hatched another baby dragon! This one is male. He's blowing smoke and making the alarm go off. He's cute but he doesn't respond very well to Harry's commands.

The dragons make messes, try to steal his food even when he gives them a plate of their own. He takes them on a walk to o get more food that the people put out for Harry. (A full troll is no danger to them.) The dragons have trouble with their hobo sticks so Harry ends up carrying them all.

When they get home. he intends to give them a bath. The female loves playing in the water. The male has another opinion. Harry has to fight with him to take a bath.

There's a glossary for the big words used, the illustrations are lovely, and I'm looking forward to the next book. I think that male is going to be trouble...

Poor Harry Troll’s peaceful hermit style of living came to a crashing halt when his breakfast eggs, yes, I said eggs, turned into dragons, can you believe that, and the chaos that unfolds from not one but two baby dragons. What a position Harry Troll found himself in, all out of breakfast eggs and two noisy and untrained younglings on his hand. There was only one thing to do, and that was to go on an adventure, with his young family, in search of more breakfast eggs but unlike the ones he had before that hatched into dragons. Yep, they had a surprising and exciting time during their food hunt. Yep, that had a surprising and exciting fun time.

A wonderfully illustrated tale of family. My group of 5-8 year olds loved the tale and decided they would join a troll's family too. After reading twice a day for the whole week, I'm pretty sure this will be in our permanent rotation.
