Description
"A delightful flower-scented tale of community and harmony with nature." — K. O'Neill, creator of The Tea Dragon Society series
Long, long ago, sprites were the caretakers of gardens. Every flower was grown by their hand. But when humans appeared and began growing their own gardens, the sprites’ magical talents soon became a thing of the past. When Wisteria, an ambitious, kind-hearted sprite, starts to ask questions about the way things used to be, she’ll begin to unearth her long-lost talent of gardening. But her newly honed skills might not be the welcome surprise she intends them to be.
The Sprite and the Gardener, the debut graphic novel by Joe Whitt and Rii Abrego, is bursting with whimsical art and vibrant characters. Join our neighborhood of sprites in this beautiful, gentle fantasy where both gardens and friendships begin to blossom.

A sweet and charming story about a garden sprite and the gardener she starts to help. This an adorable story about trying to help someone and becoming friends with the unlikeliest of people. The artwork was absolutely beautiful and the story was so charming. It made me want to go out and garden and maybe run into my own garden sprite. A whimsical story that I would highly recommend for everyone! *Thanks Netgalley and Oni Press for sending me an arc in exchange for an honest review* |

**I was provided an electronic ARC from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for honest review.** Joe Whitt and Rii Abrego team up to bring the tale of Sprite and the Gardener to life. The sprites used to help raise plants, which has now become a human task. When Wisteria is caught helping plants grow in Elena's garden, they learn that perhaps there is room for sprites and humans to work together. Everything about this is wholesome, feel-good, and just flat out made me smile. The art style is a stunning blend of romantic and whimsical. The color palette is warm and delicate. Whitt and Abrego absolutely have a lovely story with lots of room to expand. Fans of Katie O'Neill's Tea Dragon graphic novels will not want to miss Sprite and the Gardener. |

WOW!! This debut graphic novel is so beautiful! It reminds me of Thumbelina meets Home and Garden. As a child, I always imagined sprites/fairies lived in my titas garden because how could something that beautiful not be created by magic? Well, this graphic novel brings it to life! This novel is about a Sprite named Wisteria who goes back to her roots of taking care of the gardens in the world. This book is all about friendship and the power in that. If you are looking for a cozy read please pick this one up! Ps. the art is PURE PERFECTION! |

This book is a magical love letter to gardening! The story, about a garden sprite who helps a young human revive a dying garden, is simple but utterly charming. Rii Abrego’s art is unbelievably pretty making every page a wonder. Reading this gave me the same feeling of joy and lightness that you get on a sunny spring day! |

This book was like a soft hug. There’s no other way to describe it. I love graphic novels with no high stakes, soft art, and beautiful messages behind the lovely pages. This hit all my buttons and I can’t wait to have it on my physical shelf. |

Ugh, this is the sweetest graphic novel. I love that there's hardly any conflict and that it focuses on 'basic' concepts that adults could still use a refresher on (teamwork, cooperation, etc.) The art is beautiful, and the messages are so wholesome and deep too. I saw that Kay O'Neill (creator of The Tea Dragon Society) blurbed this, and I'd compare this to their work very much in some ways. It's just a little less epic and a little more quotidian, but in the best possible way. Can't wait to pick up a hard copy in May! |

Thank you Netgalley for letting me read this book in return for an honest review. Sprite and The Gardener is so incredibly cute. This story is about a sprite named Wysteria who is kind and curious as she explores the world. Wysteria finds herself using powers to heal and bring life to flowers in order to both help and impress a gardener... It doesn't exactly go to plan but it shows just how friendships can blossom. The art is beautiful, the story is sweet and I want to read it all over again. Rating: 5⭐ Would I Read It Again? Yes, Yes, Yes Would I Recommend it? Yes |

Wow, just wow. It's a very short graphic novel but it's so cute and lovely. It made me cry at the end and I'm so glad I've read it. The drawings are amazingly sweet and beautiful. It's a perfect read when someone feels a bit sad o tired from the routine. This tale make you travel to the wonderful story about friendship between Westeria and Elena. Westeria is so cute and sweet, and she want to help to Elena with her garden. I highly recommend this book. You will love it. |

Sprite and the Gardener is a cute story about fairies and how they help plants grow and thrive. I loved the artwork and the story was a cute tale. The artwork is one of the highlights of the story having vivid color, and colors for each character that corresponded with the fairies name. The drawing style is also, unique and cute adding to the stories atmosphere. Overall found this story to be great. |
