What a page turner this was . I couldn’t put it down and it held my attention all the way to the end. Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen next I was wrong

How far would we go for our family? How would we deal with the lies we were made to speak after that fateful night. This is a really good read and I would recommend it to anyone who likes to lose themselves in a good book.

Woah! This is exactly what I’ve come to expect from Gillian McAllister. Fast paced with a great story that kept me turning the pages.

I’ve not read a book by this author that hasn’t gripped me throughout. Sometimes there are authors who, when they release a book, that book takes precedence over your current read. And they never disappoint. Gillian is one of those authors and I’m already looking forward to her next book.

What Gillian does so well is keep the reader reading with every page enticing me to want to know more. It's done with plausibility which is make it even more impressive. I enjoyed all the characters and thought the structure of the book was really well done with lots of twists and reveals. The final twist for me was a little bit of a let-down but I suspect only because all the others were so good! A wonderful read that I will be recommending to others.

Gillian McAllister is one of my must-read authors; I’ve loved all of her books and she just keeps getting better. She writes characters and family dynamics with skill and realism. Despite the fast pacing, it really makes you stop and think – in this case, how far would you go for your family? What would you do to protect them? Brilliant.

Thanks to Netgalley and Penguin MJ for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

This was a brilliant read! The tension didn’t let up and I got totally caught up in the story, to the point where I would have to remind myself that I wasn’t actually involved! I loved the closeness of the three siblings and how they lived next door to each other and worked at the veterinary practice. The plot tests sibling loyalty to the extreme and asks questions: what would you do if your sibling phoned you late at night begging for your help as they have accidentally killed someone? I couldn’t put this book down and would thoroughly recommend it. I have enjoyed all of Gillian McAllister’s novels but this is the best yet.
