Compelling reading and desperately sad and very human. A well written novel about love and loss and the way we can destroy ourselves and those we love. Despite the sadness and deceptions a real sense of humanity reigns. The characters are flawed but still likeable, with their genuine care and empathy shining through the trauma. I both enjoyed and was extremely moved by this novel and highly recommend it. Get your handkerchief ready.

An excellent read. When lawyer Jay meets her client Edward they instantly become friends even though he is being charged with murder. As she is having family problems herself she is keeping busy with the case as well as trying to cope with what is happening at home. The story has lots of twists and many secrets are exposed in both their lives which will shock all those involved and just when you think things are going well there is a final twist and things will never be the same again for all of them.

Wow Susan had done it again!! A magnificent captivating read that will linger in your mind long after reading it!
Murder, grief, love, desperation and fear so many human emotions laid bare, with twists and turns that keep you enthralled right until the end! Brilliant portrayal of the gauntlet of emotions that can be experienced, illustrated so empathetically, so realistic and true to life!
Jay has it all or so it seems, great career as a lawyer, married to a high flyer living in a beautiful home, two children, and a wonderful group of friends but appearances can be deceptive! A husbands deception, followed by a bombshell several years later combined with a new client and it all starts unravelling in a startling manner with everything now in jeopardy and life is changed irrevocably!
A great suspenseful read that I would highly recommend!
Thank you netgalley for this early read.

Susan Lewis does it again, absolutely brilliant and compelling read, I could not put it down. This really boom really shows how different people can be and what we could all be capable of. When getting towards the end, I did feel another twist was coming, it I would have been happy if the book hadn’t had it as well. This is a tale which shows you never truly know someone.

I was so excited to see another book by Susan out, and couldn't wait to read it. I just love to style that Susan writes, it captures you in from the very first page and you don't want to come up for air until the ending. You will be gripped from this terrifically woven tale about Jessica who is a lawyer and has a lovely family and husband. But one of her clients may put all that in jeopardy. Edward is Jessica's client and one night when he was watching TV downstairs his wife was murdered upstairs, what really went on that day? did he do it? or is something more sinister at play here? we go on a journey with Jessica to uncover the real truth about what happened on that deadly night. Then just when things tense up her husband says to her I have something to tell you.. what could it be? twists and turns make this book engaging and gripping. I was sad when it came to the ending but by god that ending was superb. I wish one of Susan's books was turned into a film as I feel as though it would be a major hit.

I Have Something to Tell You
I don't think Susan Lewis can write a rubbish book as I have loved them all. This one is up there with possibly her best yet.
Jay Wells has a lot going for her , perfect job , perfect family and a perfect husband called Tom.
She then meets up with client Edward Blake , and that's when life for Jay changes.
The story is compelling , tense and scarily possible.
My recommendation is read this book !

Oh wow, what a book, Susan Lewis again pulled out all the stops. I devoured this book, the style of writing was fantastic. The characters were brilliant, it is one of those books that keeps you up all night just so you can get to the end and what an ending it was. Did not see it coming at all.

I have read a few of Susan Lewis’s books and have to say I’ve enjoyed them all. She is an author that gets to the crux of human nature , emotions, family life, and what they get up to. She manages to get right into the way people act and people’s feelings, you can imagine yourself in the situations she creates, and try and put yourself there, and wonder what you would do. This book is no exception.

I felt for Jay and her predicament, and all that she must have felt when her husband Tom dropped his bombshell. Without spoiling it for other readers, I’m not at all sure how I would have dealt with it, but humans are Vunerable and make mistakes, and no one is infallible. However, she must have felt sick to the core with such a revelation.

Then her life takes a turn for the better, but will it last, you’ll have to read it and see what happens!

I just didn’t want this book to end. I wanted it to go on and on and find out what else happened but sadly I’ve finished it. It’s a very emotional read, and whilst I’m a gritty crime reader this was a wonderful book to be enjoyed by anyone.

My thanks to the publishers, netgalley and Susan fir the ARC.

Susan Lewis has been one of my favorite writers for many years, and her latest novel had me absolutely enthralled. The successful lawyer hears the ominous words uttered by her husband as she is about to embark on a very important case, and her world turns on its axis. A superb book!

This is the best book I have read for a long time. What a story and who is telling the truth. I could not stop thinking about the book after I had finished, so captivating and that twist near the end, that came as a complete surprise; the end had me in tears. A great story line.

I love Susan Lewis and her stories - she writes her characters beautifully and her plot lines interweave in a clever way.

Jay is a lawyer, wife and mum of two who is called to defend a man accused of murdering his wife in horrible circumstances. As Edward Blake’s life falls apart around him, whilst protesting his innocence, Jay’s perfect life suddenly seems to be showing signs of crumbling. Just what is her husband Tom hiding from her, and why?

I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to fans of Susan’s.

I have something to tell you by Susan Lucas hooked me in and didn’t let go. So intriguing with loads of unanswered suspicions and anomalies. The book made me frustrated and angry though at Tom’s attitude and Jay’s unprofessional behaviour. I can’t say the ending helped as I’m still going over everything and am raging! Definitely the sign of a great book! Credible gripping storyline with real life conundrums and so many questions. This has definitely been my favourite read for some time- but I remain raging!! Susan has painted great characters and get the nuances of their social skills very well. I felt I was walking in their lives and loved the tension between the lawyers and the police, alongside a healthy respect and collaboration. Set aside some time for this one. You won’t want to put it down and I think you’ll need some post reading processing time too! Four and a half stars rounded to Five
