A great addition to The Little People Big Dreams books!
This time about Michelle Obama, who other than being married to the president, I didn't know an awful lot about.
These books have just the right amount of information about a person to still keep it interesting for younger readers.
Great book!

I absolutely adore the Little People, Big Dreams series and this book, focusing on Michelle Obama did not disappoint. Filled with glorious illustrations, these texts are a fabulous springboard for classroom discussion. I love how they cover such a broad range of famous faces, from scientists to musicians.

The story of Michelle Obama is an inspiring read of a girl who worked hard to achieve success and who worked equally hard to give back to those less fortunate. It details her life from childhood to the First Lady of the USA and shows her as an inspiration woman in her own right, not just the wife of a president. Like Michelle herself, the illustrations were vibrant and full of life, adding much to the story.

I will be using this book as part of my Person of the Week work in a Year 5 classroom and think it would be a welcome addition to any school bookshelf. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

A short and easy-to-understand illustrated biography of Michelle Obama.
After reading her autobiography, nothing in the book was a surprise to me.
It focused on Michelle being her own person, rather than Mrs. Obama.
However it did feel a bit all-over-the-place, and could have been tighter connected in places.
A beautiful book, but just felt a little bit lacking compared to others I've read.

The little people big dreams series is known for short, easily understandable biographies of famous people, but often, those people are long dead. I don't know if this is a recent developement or if I just happened to stumble on them, but the last installments I had were about celebrities that are still alive, and while I loved other books thematically more, I think it's great to show children that those people are still around. Fulfilling your dreams is still possible.

This one is all about Michelle Obama. Since I read her autobiography, this picture book could not tell me anything new, but I liked it. The illustrator clearly made a point of depicting diversity, and while this was achieved in regards to ethnicity, all seemed to be able bodied and it is not a great feeling when you see an effort has been made but you're still left out.
But then that won't bother most readers, I guess.

The arc was provided by the publisher.

Wow, what a woman!
Think it is so important to share these stories with my children, and was especially keen to show my daughter that Michelle is more than just someone’s wife.

Really love this series of books and the diversity they offer, the illustrations are fun and engaging and the information given in the text is just right, not too overwhelming for the younger readers.

Would definitely recommend these be added to your family bookshelves!

Fabulous edition to the little people big dreams collection!

As like the other books, this one is bright and colourful with detailed illustrations.

Michelle’s story is equally just as important, showing our children she believed she could so she did.

A very powerful message to our children

This gorgeous series is not only very informative for children, but also a perfect introduction to reading biographies. In my class (7 - 9 year olds) this set has proved very popular with the children, they love the style of writing, illustrations and real photos with extra details at the back. I’ve read ‘Becoming’ and this is a very good summarised version to appeal to young readers.

The life story of Michelle Obama is one of determination to reach her dreams and to help others reach their dreams - no dream is to too big.

We love the Little people, big dreams books in this home. So thank you for the opportunity to check out this ARC with my biggest Little.

The Little people, big dreams books are a great way to teach our littles about some of the biggest influential people throughout history in a way that appeals to them! Brightly coloured illustrations and simple but informative text is used throughout these books, making them an easy and fun read for primary school aged children (and their grown ups!)

Each book has a more detailed look at the individuals lives in the time line at the back of the book, which is handy to refer to when your inquisitive mini mes have more questions!

My biggest Little enjoyed learning about the very first African American First Lady.

Thank you so much to Quarto/Frances Lincoln Childrens and Netgalley for the earc to read and review.

Michelle Obama is such an incredibly inspiring and powerful woman and I am so happy she has been included in this series. She is a wonderful woman for young girls in particular to look up too and think I want to be like her.

This book shares in a simple and easy way for younger readers all that she did in her life to get to where she is now, from her family struggles, to being pushed down by her teachers, to rising above it all and reaching the very top, to all the kindness and love she shares from her heart to help others constantly.

I love this book and am so happy it exists, if you are a fan of this book series you need this one, if you have a little dreamer of your own you need this book.

This is another brilliant addition to this series – even as an adult I look out for the next book in the series being released!

I love the images in this series and this is a delightful introduction to Michelle Obama. I do think that possibly the images if her could have been a but more complimentary but other than that it was a great book.

It shows that she has done a lot in her life and I am hoping that now she is out of the shadow of her husband she will get he exposure and recognition as she is just as remarkable in her own right - the book also shows how much of a team she was with Barack when she was the First Lady.

This series is an excellent introduction to some of the well-known, and less well-known characters that have had a great impact in our lives through a variety of subjects such as literature, the rights of minorities, political influence, women's rights and science.

It is 4 stars from me for this one – a delightful read and one I will be highly recommending!!

This is a short biography of Michelle Obama, chronicling her journey to the White House. Her determination, strength and passion shine through in the colourful illustrations.

I love the diversity of the people featured in this series. Artists, athletes, authors, activists, explorers, entertainers, musicians, scientists and now a first lady.

These biographies are age appropriate; inspiring and interesting, but not overwhelming. They have bright, beautiful illustrations, striking covers, and look great on a shelf together.

The exceptional Little People, BIG DREAMS series prides itself on providing child-friendly biographies of renowned and outstanding public figures and in this, the sixty-second book in the series, we explore the life and times of former President Barack Obama’s wife and successful lawyer, Michelle Obama. This potted biography begins from her childhood years growing up on the south side of Chicago, Illinois, in a loving, connected family. After her father was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, Michelle worked to better the lives of others using her father as her inspiration.

When she met Barack Obama for the first time she was a prominent, trailblazing lawyer and activist. Using her platform to advocate for women, girls and the less fortunate, Michelle became history’s most powerful First Lady. Written in such an empowering fashion, this book gives children the message that they can achieve their dreams whatever they may be and shows that even when you're perceived as different you can be successful by just being yourself. What's impressive is there is just enough here to enable a child to become curious yet not enough to overwhelm, and the colourful, fun illustrations complement the text perfectly.

It's an educational and entertaining read that empowers young ones to pursue their dreams without limits and inspires children to dream bigger and realise their fullest potential, by introducing them to extraordinary people throughout history. It's a wonderfully engaging and simple to understand book that also helps kids with literacy and fosters an enjoyment of reading. You simply cannot go wrong with this series in general as everything is executed perfectly and tailored beautifully to youngsters. Highly recommended.
