Creep! Suspenseful! Breathtaking! All this and more. A book where you'll think you know the killer again and again. And again and again you'll be wrong. I devoured this book in 2 readings. One of the best books I've read this year.

I can't speak highly enough if this book. It kept me up reading it gil the early hours. This is exactly what a fomestic noir should be written. I won't say too much about the plot but it will get under your skin and you won't be able to stop until you find out what is actually going on. A bit of intrigue, some suspense, and twists that you won't ever see coming. Highly recommended

Thank You so much Avon, NetGalley and Author for this exciting new thriller!

The Couple On Maple Drive is a fantastic page turner, full of twist and turns.
A thrilling that keeps you guessing until the end.
This book was fast paced, gripping, entertaining, dramatic and just all round amazing. I would like to say that I had a feeling I knew what was going to happen at the end but in reality, I had no idea. Which I think is the sign of a good thriller, right?
The writing is fabulous, had me feeling every single moment of fear, unease, and creepiness.
One thriller you won't want to miss!

I never trust the facade that people put up to impress on others how “fine” everything is. Life isn’t perfect and definitely not so for this couple. Well worth a read.

Sam has done it again. A truly amazing story, I was on the edge of my seat, and my heart was racing. So many twists and turns, I had so many theories running through my head, none of which were the final outcome.

YES SAM CARRINGTON, YES. This is how you write a thriller. Red herrings, genuinely not knowing who to trust until it's too late, what are lies and what is truth? I read this in one three hour sitting and I regret nothing.

Excellent story! Totally engrossing!. Looking forward to reading more by this author! Could not put this down!

I already read some books by Sam Carrington and enjoyed them a lot. So I was happy, to receive an ARC of her newest book.
Once again I was not disappointed. On the contrary. If it would not have been for real life I would not have stopped reading. I so wanted to find out what was going on. The description about this book is very vague and I also don't want to give anything away.
If you enjoy domestic thrillers this is the right story for you.

Thanks a lot #Netgalley #Avon Books UK for this ARC

This book left me SPEECHLESS!! WOW, WOW, WOW bloody WOW! it dragged me into it's pages at breakneck speed and the brakes went on at the last twist. What an amazing, spine tingling, gripping, atmospheric, twisty read. Isla is a great character and I really connected with her, she was afraid but at the same time she found her confidence and ventured back out into the world and she didn't stop looking for her attacker, that's when the twist started. I loved "Christie's Crime Addicts Podcast", and I really think it should be made into a TV series or further books but Isla must be included with Jase, Doug, Ed and Christie, they make an incredible team. The plot is paced at a great speed and it's consistent. I didn't want it to end and the final twist was mind blowing. Sam Carrington is back with another whopper of read and it is PHENOMENAL from beginning to end.

Wow! I absolutely loved every page of this book! Way to go Sam Carrington! You definitely made me a fan!

Isla was brutally mugged and has not left her house since it happened. After she was mugged her boyfriend Zack moved in with her for some comfort and to keep an eye on her but then something happens.... Is someone out to get Isla? Zack and Isla are keeping secrets from each other. A relationship with secrets will never work out... or can it?

You will have to pick up your copy on December 9, 2021 to find out!!

I absolutely loved all the twists and the ending was jaw dropping! This is a fast paced, addictive thriller! I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a catchy domestic thriller!

A dark and twisty page-turner full of intrigue and suspense!

I’m a big fan of Sam Carrington’s books, so I always look forward to this time of year when I can stalk NetGalley for her latest thriller to become available.

Isla’s life is heading in the perfect direction, when she lands herself a promotion at work and bags herself a new boyfriend, Zach – the boss’s son! Unfortunately, her happiness is rather short-lived when she becomes the victim of a vicious mugging whilst on her way home from her promotion party.

Waking in hospital Isla barely remembers a thing! As she struggles to process what happened her boyfriend Zach says he’ll move in to look after her. It is very early days in their relationship so this will either make them or break them!

We follow Isla as she desperately tries to remember what happened to her the night she was mugged. As small memories from before the attack re-surface, Isla becomes worried that the person who hurt her may actually be someone she knows! Like Isla, I very quickly couldn’t trust any of the other characters in this book! With several potential suspects, this makes for an intriguing and suspenseful read!

This book is perfectly paced with a dark and creepy edge to it. Whilst I did guess the outcome, I still loved all the twists and turns and put my prediction down to my exceptional detective skills!

I love that the story features a local true-crime podcast. This is very different and not something I have come across in a book before. Like Isla, I’m also obsessed with listening to them, so this made the main character very relatable to me.

It is not often that a book scares me, but this one has had me looking over my shoulder a few times. I often cut through a park on my way home from work just like Isla did and I am usually listening to a true-crime podcast. I think I’ll take a different route for a while now! 🤣

As always, I love that Sam’s books are based in Devon, which is where I live, it makes it so much easier for me to imagine the setting whilst reading.

This book did make me cry but they were happy tears, and they were not due to the story itself but due to the acknowledgements at the end. Ensure you read them to spot the special shout out to me! Sam’s book The Missing Wife is one of the first books I ever reviewed when I joined the world of book blogging. Since then we have become great friends. I am blown away to be featured in the acknowledgements, so thank you, Sam. It is a pleasure to read and review your work.

If you love a good psychological thriller that will play with your mind, then be sure to check this one out. Thank you to Sam Carrington, Avon Books UK and NetGalley for my copy of this book.

This was a proper Whodunnit, or should I say Whodunn’em?

From the start this was a captivating read. Full of twists and turns, a great story with a satisfying end.

Isla is a young woman enjoying life. She works and lives in Torquay, recently promoted and is in a new relationship with the boss’s son, Zach. Isla’s best friend Nicci hosts a congratulations party for her and during the evening there are a couple of unusual incidents with two colleagues. At the time, as there has been a lot of alcohol consumed, Isla thinks no more of them. Instead of taking a taxi home Isla decides to walk, meaning to telephone her mam on the way to tell her the good news. It’s quiet, past midnight and she is the only person about. Or is she?

I really enjoyed this story. Told across two timelines, with a narrative from a local podcast thrown in, the plot flows well, and the characters are well described. The story stretches the imagination at times, but this doesn’t spoil the book at all.

A really enjoyable read.

Thank you NetGalley.

A totally gripping read. Following a mugging Isla is nervous and relying on her boyfriend for support. This is definitely a case of be careful who you trust. An obsession with crime stories helps Isla seek answers. A very twisty tale with an explosive conclusion. So good.

Enjoyed this thriller from beginning to end. I like how it slowly developed and kept me guessing if Isla was indeed correct on her speculations and doubts or was this a sign of her accident. Sometimes it felt like Isla was an unrealiable narrator, sometimes I thought it was the best friend Nicci and sometimes I just didn’t like Zac. Really liked how Agatha Christie and the podcast were incorporated into the story, it was a fun touch.

Thank you to NetGalley, Avon Books and Sam Carrington for an ARC in return for an honest review.

This story follows a couple who live at Maple Drive called Isla and Zach. Isla was the victim of a brutal assault which left her with amnesia and terrified to leave the home. She starts trying to piece together what happened to her with the help of a True-Crime podcast team.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved how there is a true crime podcast running along in the background, it’s unique and works so well. This book is creepy, dark, gritty and tense. It has some good twists. The storyline packs a punch. A really good psychological thriller!

Wow sam Carrington does not disappoint.
I loved this book, i honestly couldn't stop reading it was so so so good. So many twists and turns i had no idea what was going to happen and didn't expect that ending

This book had me gripped from the very beginning. I have to say that for the first few chapters I found Isla extremely irritating and couldn't understand why Zach bothered with her but gradually I began to warm to her and realised she was genuinely frightened not just looking for attention. I loved the way the author used the podcasts where other authors would have had news reports, really up to date. I was really enjoying the story but once Isla had contacted the podcasters the pace really picked up as did the suspense. From here on I was on the edge of my seat, each chapter leaving me breathless with anticipation. The tension was worthy of Alfred Hitchcock. This all culminated in a truly fitting climax. Well worth 5 stars

I have read other books by this author and they have all been fantastic reads and this one was just brilliant it was a twisty gripping read which I just loved. It has unforgettable characters and just couldn’t leave this book down with such a great conclusion at the end. Would highly recommend this book.

This was riveting I just had to keep reading to know what was happening. This author really knows how to ramp up the tension on the books. There were times when I thought I knew what was happening and then didn't, makes reading such a special treat.

I was given an advance copy by the publishers and netgalley but the review is entirely my own.

This intriguing, twisty starts with Isla being brutally mugged, traumatised and house bound. After she was mugged her boyfriend and work colleague Zach moved in and strange things happen!..

Isla struggles with few friends in Devon and only distant family in Scotland. Her memory of the mugging slowly returns and Zach may not be the man she really wanted?

As I said before there are many twists and, whilst I was not sure about the blogging, it all adds to a great story and excellent ending.

I have never read any of Ms Carrington's books before but she does write well and I will look for her others.

Thanks to Net Galley and Avon Books UK for the chance to read and review.

A powerful, page turner of a novel. Isla is attacked as she leaves a gathering in her honour, but who by and why ? I found it gripping with an impressive twist of an ending.

A really disturbing read which asks the question who can you really trust? Isla meets a guy and he may or may not be what he seems.
Lots of twists and turns to this book.
Completely enjoyable.
Another author to add to my "following" list and need to look up his previous books.

Thank you to Avon Books UK, NetGalley and the author for an ARC in return for an honest review.

I’d like to thank Avon Books UK and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Couple On Maple Drive’ written by Sam Carrington in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

On her way home from a party to celebrate her promotion, Isla is the victim of a mugging and wakes up in hospital with a broken wrist, bruising and concussion. As she recovers at home she likes scrolling to the podcast of ‘Christie’s Crime Addicts’ and as the police don’t seem to be making any headway in finding her assailant she plucks up the courage to leave her settee and visit CCA to ask for their help.

‘The Couple On Maple Drive’ is an exciting and well-written thriller that’s had me hooked from page one. There’s an exciting plot that I’ve been gripped by and that gets more tense the further into the plot I get. Using the podcast is a clever way to tell the story from two angles, that of Jase helping Isla to discover the truth and then of the final outcome. Whereas Isla can think of a number of suspects who could be responsible which one, if any, is it? And as she’s survived the attack will there be another attempt on her life? This is a thriller with a plausible plot and a surprising ending, which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed.
