Portofino, Italy, 2021. The Carltons Series is a collection of character-driven vignettes within a continuous serial, a snapshot of an elegant, and unbridled set pursuing an aesthetic existence in the New Roaring Twenties. Charlotte Carlton is the nucleus of society icons, entertainment personalities, underworld spies, royals, tycoons, and felons … characters always together, forever searching, exhibiting to the mere mortals that life is different with money.

In the series' first story, Italian Riviera, set against the atmospheric Portofino landscape, it’s Tom Huston's birthday party thrown by John and Charlotte and anticipation is at a fever pitch, everyone wants to be around the fascinating couple. Although on stage life is glorious, behind the curtian, however, the couple struggle to keep it together, haunted by dark secrets and raucous fights, forever challenged by Charlotte’s relentless drive to uncover a family secret threatening to ruin everything they’ve built together.

The plot latent with sexual undertones, excess, turmoil, scandal, and bottles and bottles of booze thickens as the series unfolds; struggle between forms of power develop; some transformations will be spectacular while other slightly less, but beneath the lustrous veneer of the monied at poolside play, lay personal tragedies and secrets when revealed will shatter the illusion and idealism of this radiant world.

The alcohol will flow, the music will play, and the loves and secrets will simmer to the surface, by one o'clock the party is completely out of control, by dusk we're left with a promising beginning to an extraordinary taste of the series to come.
