Description

This book is not politically correct! Proceed with caution!

It contains the language of the Sixties. It reflects sexual emancipation from the Fifties. Credit modern medicine for developing a tiny little pill that helped make the difference.

In other words, it is a FUN read!

Meet a beautiful flight attendant who discovers my apartment is directly below hers.

Be there when "Robert's Fairly Roast Beef Sandwiches" are available at Lloyd's Bar. The ad states, "Not only are our sandwiches illiterate, they're thick!"

Witness Abbie Hoffman as he instructs me as to what to smoke and what not to drink.

Encounter Charlie, the manager of Lloyd's, who doesn't like "pinko liberal music," that Abbie cannot wait to play on the jukebox as soon as he arrives at Llloyd's.

Names are shamelessly dropped, including the names of young writers who hang out at Elaine's Restaurant and Bar.

Yet like all eras, it is complicated. The Second World War had come to an end about twenty years before, and readers will sense its shadow along with the threat of Vietnam.

Join me in the Sixties and fall madly in love with New York City and the people living in it.

Advance Praise

"Robert Isenberg, a smart, witty, and funny author who's done some wonderful things in his life as a businessman and a man well-loved by lots of women. In the '60s, where this story's timeline took place, was where he launched his very first business cooking roast beef sandwiches.

We get to see how he ran this business swiftly, attracting people and regular customers tohis very first launch of these yummy sandwiches. He made waves and was soon invited to cook for a singles bar where he got to meet more friends and plenty of beautiful women. His life is rich, full of exciting twists and turns, and then finally finding stability in his marriage with Esther.

I liked reading this book for the witty, interesting, and rich experience that the author has lived. Highly recommended!" Reader Reviews.

"The most interesting memoir ever written, especially because it revolved around life in the '60s. We all know what made the '60s a fascinating time to live. It was an era of enjoying our freedom, a period of loss too, and yet a time to celebrate life.

If you're young, handsome and with a likable personality, this will be a period where you will shine. This is the life of the young Robert, and he surely enjoyed it. From being a lover to becoming a businessman and then meeting people that made him write funny short stories for, he's lived and he is happy to share these experiences with his readers.

He sure knows how to write good stories! I say this because it was an easy read for me. There was not a bore at all. Everything was coordinated so well that the journey of his life becomes clear for us to see why he is the man we need to look for when it comes to reading enjoyable, entertaining, and funny stories.

A great read indeed! I highly recommend it!" Reader Reviews.

"I appreciate the great way that Robert writes. He surely knows how to write effectively. And that is why his books are always going to make people laugh and feel happy and entertained.

He doesn't have that pain amidst some of the experiences that did not work for him. He moves on, continues to go after what he wants, and then continues to grace everyone with his charisma and love for life.

Certainly was a great memoir to read, because I have learned to take it easy, what it takes to live in harmony with others and yourself.

Learn from Rob, be entertained with his stories in life, and get to know him more from this remarkable memoir! Read it and enjoy!" Reader Reviews.

"Robert is a young twenty-ish Jewish nerd looking to get out of his boring job and find a successful niche for himself, and he does. He turns his cooking skills into a catering company and manages to find the time to see his friends and enjoy sexual experiences and freedom before the fear of AIDS. In frank and humorous detail we learn everything about not only his life and how it plays out but also the era it takes place --characters like Elaine and Abbie Hoffman, songs recorded by artists like The Shirelles, and of course the highly controversial Vietnam War.

.This really stirred up memories for me, but this novel would appeal to all ages as well. Riotously funny with a dry wit I haven't had the pleasure of seeing in years.

.Loved it. While the ending was sobering (detailing some of the real-life deaths of the characters) it's an excellent dose of realism. People live, live, work, laugh, cry and die. There's no escaping our fate but here we see examples of people enjoying their journey along the way." The International Review of Books.
