It's December 23rd and Ed is waiting at the airport, for Lily, so they can spend Christmas in Iceland. The chaptersthat are in the present go hour by half-hour on the journey with Ed and Lily as they try and meet up before the plane takes off. We also go back to 2012 when Ed and Lily first meet at his brother, Kit's, birthday party. Lily is best friends with Kit's girlfriend, Anisia. I absolutely adored Kit and Ed's Uncle Martian. I so wish there was a lot more of him in the book.

I loved Ed and Lily's meet cute and backstory and was so sad reading their present, they both seemed so unsure of themselves and each other...but you could still feel the love. I loved how quirky Lily is as she is an entertainer/dance teacher and busker when they first meet. But she is also working for a charity that helps with medical supplies for war torn countries overseas.

I loved this book so much, it wasn't just a romance but a take on life in general. Yes we learn all about Ed and Lily's relationship...but this book is about so much more than that. It's about taking chances, growing up, learning from your mistakes and relationships in general, not just romantic ones. I am really surprised I came across this book accidentally as it is an excellent read, an amazing debut and I enjoyed it so, so much.

A story about the relationship of Ed and Lily. I enjoyed the book but felt that they both could do with a visit to Relate to learn about communication!! It frustrated me no end but I still couldn't put the book down. A lovely romance if you can get past shouting "talk to each other". Could that be because I am a counsellor?

I loved the pace of this book - it kept me hooked well into the night to the point that I was struggling to keep my eyes open but I was desperate to know what happened next between the characters! A fun little romance with loveable characters and an endearing plot.

More 3.5 stars

Really liked the story, lack of communication in a relationship the main theme. Chapters going back to a different year were fine but ending was messy I thought. One minute in Cardiff, then service station, then Mums, then London, train station, bus station, hotel, airport, probably somewhere else I missed. All in short space of time, I found that little confusing but maybe just me!

A Christmas book always brings a smile to someone’s face even if there are sad bits! Eventually it all works out ok. Well written.

In just thirty-six hours, Ed and Lily are flying to Iceland for the snowy Christmas break they've been dreaming of. It's Christmas Eve Eve and while they should be sipping champagne in their hotel getting ready, their relationship is on thin ice.

Ever since Lily moved away for her dream job, she's had a feeling it's not only the distance that's been coming between them. Is there enough time to fix their relationship, or will the plane and their relationship move on without them?

Ed & Lily straddles two timelines, so we watch as their fledgling relationship starts out - Lily turning up to a party, just a friend of his brothers girlfriend - to the present day when everything has gone wrong. Starting out, it seems Ed very much lived in monochrome and Lily was the full rainbow and we peice together how their worlds managed to mix together.

I adored Lily's backstory but found I was more interested in watching her grow than her relationship - starting off as a bohemian street performer to travelling around the world leading rescue and aid missions, making a difference to the world around her. This was a romance story, but it was also about personal growth, dreams, and growing up - that to me was the star of the show.

There were definitely some cute moments, but I just wanted to smash their heads together for a large part of this book and tell them to talk to each other! Their relationship, while wonderful at times, bordered toxic at times and had me wishing they'd get on seperate planes, I just could never fully get behind them as a couple.

Cute story, a light and easy read. Loved Ed and Lily's relationship, but they also really frustrated me - wanted to bang their heads together throughout. A lovely ending, well written.

Love, love, loved this book! 💙

From what I gather this is Sofia's debut novel, what a glittering start for this talented author.

Well written with a fab storyline & two great characters in Ed & Lily, I enjoyed getting to known them, their relationship woes & more of their backstory.

Many thanks to Rachel's Random Resources for my tour spot & gifted copy.

I enjoyed this book however the lack of communication between Ed and Lily was frustrating , you felt like shouting talk to each other ! at times. Parts of the book were all over the place but it kept me reading , just to find out what happened
