Ok, I went into this book without really knowing what the book was about but I really really enjoyed it was a breath of fresh air and the story was really good. The characters were relatable and it's really something you can see happening for real-life without ruining it the plot twist was fun right to the last page wink!

Once I got going I could not put the book down it was a rollercoaster of a journey and I was sad when it was time to put the book down.
Thanks once again for picking me for this review it is not something I would have normally reviewed but I am so glad I did and now I have another great author to follow. It reminded me a lot of Sophie Kinsella's style of books so if you are a fan of a good chick flick then please get this book once it's available to review or buy I really hope you will give this book a chance it was a great book and you will really fall in love with the characters and the plot.

I really hope we get a follow on at some point would love to know what might happen next .... for flo and Dylan

I received a taster of the upcoming Justin Myers book and, after enjoying the first one of his books I’ve read, I’m happy to report that this book looks like one I would also enjoy.

I’m looking forward to reading the full book in the future definitely!

I have never clicked faster on a book, I love Justin Myers' writing and this book, his third, is just brilliant. Initially I was a bit ... ooh, who are these characters and what the hell is about to happen? And then it all starts falling into place and you run along with the people and the stories, with all the ups and down. It's enjoyable especially because the characters have flaws, they are human and their situations are not farfetched, while being fantastic.
Total triumph!

What a fantastic book. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but definitely won’t be the last.
A funny, laugh out loud, story with believable and relatable characters. It gripped my from the very start and kept me up til late in the night wanting to read ‘just one more chapter’.
I will be recommending this book to my friends. A great read.

I found this to be a wonderful light-hearted read, but with enough stuffing to stop it being in any way fluffy.

The two main characters, Dylan and Flo live together in a grotty flat, but they are both hoping that one day very soon someone will see their potential and they will hit the big timer,Dylan as an actor and Flo as a vocalist.

It is what happens when these two split up just as their stars are rising that this author really grabbed and kept my attention. His insight into the acting and music business gave really creditability to this story.

I absolutely loved Dylan and Flo but my god did I want to bang their heads together!!!

A wonderous five stars from me and I am now off to find another book written by Justin Myers.

Dylan and Flo are in love but it isn't going smoothly. They try hard but sometimes that isn't enough. The obstacles are insurmountable. So they give in to the inevitable and split up. This has repercussions for the both of them - whilst Flo writes song after song about the heartbreak she is going through, Dylan channels his own pain into his acting.
And you know what - they both start to make it big... their pain has obviously been the catalyst. Either that or being with each other has held them back.
Problem is, they are still in love... But only in private, in secret, hidden love... They are back together, but shhhhh. Can they keep it secret long enough to make it through...? Or does destiny have another idea...?
I've read and loved this author's previous books so I was quite excited to get my hands on a copy of this one. Unlike many books of this genre his books are not predictable and always deliver at least one or two shocks along the way. He always seems to be able to put his own quirky spin on things and this book is no different. Another thing I love about the author is his characterisation. I think to get ahead in this genre which is quite busy, as well as a cracking story you really need great characters. Ones that a reader can really connect to and get behind, cheer on if necessary. And here, he has created not only two cracking main characters but also a host of supporting ones and extras. Each character, even those with just a small part, is distinct and well drawn and all play their parts well.
It's emotional in parts - well you expect that! But it pretty much runs the gamut of all emotions. Good and bad. Love and hate, anger, sorrow, etc etc... It also covers a few of the prevalent topics around today - mostly regarding sexuality - and does that very well, and seamlessly.
All in all, a good addition to what is shaping up to be a cracking back catalogue. Roll on next time. My thanks go to the Publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book.

sometimes you just want to curl up with a really well written feel good book. That is exactly what this is. Its perfect for the beach, on the train or time at home.
Flo and Dylan are perfect for each other. Nearly.
Shes choosing not to use the money her parents gave her and lives in a grotty flat to keep Dylan happy. Flo would love to be a sucessful musician and Dylan wants to be an actor. Neither are quite making it.
Then they break up and it makes their careers.

This story follows the love, drama and sneakiness that follows.

Such a fun read!

I loved the characters, the storyline and the whole show-biz vibe.

Definitely one to read!

I absolutely loved it! This is the first book by Myers that I read but it won't be the last. What a fabulous story and what a fabulous set of characters. It's so full of twists and turns, and although I did see some features coming I definitely didn't expect it to end like that and I love it when an author surprises me. This is definitely a top seller and I can't recommend it enough.
With many thanks to Little, Brown UK for pre-approving my early copy, to the author and Netgalley.

I've really enjoyed both Justin Myers' previous novels so I was excited to get the chance to review this, and I think this is my favourite of his books so far. It's sharply funny and perfectly observed, the characters manage to be flawed and frustrating at the same time as incredibly endearing and likeable. Like good friends who sometimes exasperate you, but who you can't help but love all the same. I think its rare to find a book that is satirical and clever without sacrificing characters to unbearable clichés but throughout the twists and turns and bad choices, I was with them all the way. A brilliant book, and I'm very grateful to NetGalley and the publishers for the chance to read an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A very different type of book from my usual reads, but enjoyable none the less.

This book by Myers struck many chords, and I really liked it. The characters are well written, and they - and the unfolding events - are very relatable.

Definitely worth a read.

I thourghly enjoyed this book, it was a lovely easy read.
Flo and Dylans relationship is not going well, Dylan feels inadequate compared to Flo's friends and eventually their relationship can withstand no more. Back at home with her parents Flo is heartbroken and she channels this into her song writing, not knowing that this will lead to stardom.
Things are also looking up for Dylan, he has finally got an acting role on a regular show.
Dylan and Flo can't help but miss each other and they decide to get back together, however they both realize their relationship would be bad for their careers. So they hatch a plan to get back together whilst pretending to still be broken up. Like all the best laid plans it doesn't quite work out.
I highly recommend this book, I'm happy to have discovered another great author to add to my TBR list.

I really enjoyed this not so typical girl meets boy book. Although a romance by all accounts it is one with real depth of character and emotion as Flo and Dylan grow together, supporting each other through small time gig after lousy audition. The breakdown in their relationship seems to be the trigger for great things for them both and allows some wonderful story lines of the rise to fame and stardom, the pressures of perfection and red carpets, the vagaries of making true friends with other stars and the lengths they have to go to to prevent their respective stars crashing down.

I was lucky enough to be pre approved for a copy of this book and I loved it!

Dylan and Flo love each other but too many obstacles are in their way and they split up. In the meantime their careers start to go really well. I don't want to give any spoilers but it's a book full of twists and turns and you can't decide what is going to happen or what you want to happen.

I'm a big fan of easy reads but they're normally so predictable, I thoroughly enjoyed this as I didn't have a clue how it was going to end.

I loved the character Max too and the book touched on homophobia in a really effective way.

Definitely worth a read.

The Fake Up a five-star read that will keep you guessing all the way through. Flo and Dylan are just adorable, they will warm you up, and make you understand how hard it is to be in a relationship, but man its also fun, as these pair show. But those two aren’t the only stars of the show, there are a whole host of characters that support these two that make the story ebb and flow. Make you chuckle and smile at the cute moments, it does drop in a couple places, but overall the story is strong will keep you hooked.

I’ve never really read a book quite like this. At first I was like am I reading this right? It was interesting and funny to see Dylan & Flo and all their antics especially since everyone thought they broke up!
