The Trouble with Belonging

A lonely boy adrift in a foreign world finds his anchor in a girl he saved from the streets.

Chen Kehuan has no mother, no friends, no social skills, and no sense of belonging.  When he lands among other third culture kids in yet another foreign city, nobody really matters to him until he meets a mysterious street child called Niki. As he starts looking after her, his life gradually changes.

Little Niki roams the streets of Warsaw, talking to strangers on a whim and making things out of nothing, and since she has no choice, she takes care of herself well enough. But then she meets Kehuan, and her whole life changes as well.

In her adolescent years, Niki still struggles with the fallout of her turbulent childhood. But family crisis or peer trouble, school difficulties or health issues, Kehuan helps solve each and every of her problems. Until everything changes again, and he becomes the problem. Now what?
