This gorgeous novella may be a shorter book but it is large on the great story it delivers. I listened to this on audiobook which is narrated by the author herself and she gives a great performance. First of all we meet Izzy who is on her way to a wedding in Italy and then there is Sam who is going to be at his best friends wedding. They arrive at their destinations and open their suitcases to find they have the wrong suitcases!! I loved this story - it was full of humour and wit, romance and warmth and I simply did not want this audiobook to end! I also adored the front cover of this book too! An easy five stars from me! Thank you to Harper Collins and Netgalley for my gifted copy.

This is a witty and funny short story. At just over two hours long this audiobook is the perfect quick getaway. A delightful, uplifting and heart-warming novella that will leave you rooting for both Izzy and Sam. The fact that Laura narrated the audiobook just added to the perfection.

A nice short story, funny. When you finally have some time for your self but when they lose your suitcase is not so nice anymore. But all things happen for a reason. You have to arrange..after every rain there is the sun. Heartmelting

Such a beautiful novella! Funny, addictive and action packed. I love the authors writing style and it works great as an audiobook. Definitely a must read. Loved it.

When two wedding guests, Izzy and Sam, accidentally swap suitcases it's harder to swap them back than it should be. But this accidental, frustrating situation sets hearts flutter and romance brewing.

This is told through the POV of Izzy and Sam, switching between the two in each chapter; for me, this kept the reader engaged and was a great way to tell this novella.

I loved the two main characters, my favourite was Sam. I would have been so annoyed if this had happened to me and when he flies off the handle I thought it was hilarious.

The plot was quick, but it had to be because it was a novella, however, I was pleased there was no shyness or 'hanging about' to the characters and they got straight to the point.

I did listen to this on an audiobook and I have to say I sometimes get irritated with the narrator's voice, but this really wasn't the case with Williams, not only is she a great writer but she is a great narrator also!

The story
Izzy is a preschool teacher living in London. Her friends are getting married in Tuscany and she has worked extra jobs and saved up for months to be able to come to their wedding. Her boyfriend is now an ex and she is coming alone. Sam is also friends with the bridal couple. He is a paediatric surgeon, also living in London. His day doesn’t start out well, his date for the wedding has cancelled on him. When she arrives at the hotel, Izzy realises what she thought was her suitcase, a blue carry on, and even has the same passcode, is filled with menswear and Aesop mens products. Sam’s identical suitcase is filled with womenswear! It’s a challenge to find who their suitcase belongs to, and although Izzy manages to get hers back, Sam ends up having to do his speech in a borrowed shirt and his shorts. What happens when the two of them realise who the identical suitcase belongs to?

My thoughts
I listened to the novella-length audio that is narrated by the author. This is a heartwarming story of two singles whose friends have told them about each other but who have never met before. I loved the dual POV and the thoughts that each had about wanting more from life and appreciating the value of true love. Loved it!

This is a delightful, romantic, uplifting and heartwarming novella, which really cheered me up while I was doing my housework.

I loved the narrator, who had a lovely voice, and of course who was perfect for the job, since she is also the author.

Izzy and Sam meet when they are at their friend's wedding in Italy, and, after they sort out a suitcase mix-up, they are soon both hot under the collar, shall we say!

This is a fantastic short story, which left me feeling happy and warm inside. I loved it and I am sure you will too! It is the perfect read when you are looking for something short and sweet to open your heart and make you feel all gooey inside!

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

What a witty, bold and funny short story! I was giggling, I was cheering, I had so much fun listening to the story of Izzy and Sam and their suitcase mix-up. An amazing 2-hour getaway to a wedding in Tuscany, in the company of the author whose narration is hilarious. This book is an instant mood booster!

Many thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK Audio for an Advance Review Copy.

I’ve never read Laura Jane Williams before, but the plot of this novella sounded pretty cute. I thought this could be a great first book to read by her, and I think it was.

The Wrong Suitcase follows Izzy, who wants to let her hair down and really enjoy her university friend’s wedding, and Sam, who was dumped the morning he was due to travel to the very same event. At the hotel, their luggage gets mixed up, and they spend the afternoon trying to hunt the other down.

With this being a novella, there’s obviously not that much content. The book is set during a single day, which can make it feel a little too insta-lovey, but it was pretty light and fun. I enjoyed both Izzy and Sam’s perspectives, though Sam’s could get a little grumpy. I totally get why. He has a serious reason to be miserable. But that kind of makes the very sudden romance seems a little too ridiculous.

What I will say about this book is that it’s fun. There was a random sexy scene that I feel was unnecessary with the length of the book. But it highlighted the sizzling chemistry between the two main characters. I did really appreciate their friends and family. The differing relationships were cute, and I did tear up a little at the wedding speech. The married couple seemed very in love, and I adored that.

As an audiobook, this was so very easy to listen to. I don’t usually like audiobooks with multiple protagonists and only one narrator. I’m especially not a fan of authors reading their own books. However, Williams was an enjoyable narrator. She did give both characters chapters their own individual voices, and the tone was pretty perfect. In places, it totally added to the humour and I enjoyed it.

I listened to this whilst doing housework, and it was fun to get through. It kept me distracted and made me smile. Was it perfect? Definitely no. But it has made me want to check out Williams other books.

For those looking for a quick romance novella, I highly recommend this in audio or e-book. You’ll have a lot of fun.

This was such a lovely novella, I listened to it in one day!

It is really short and although the timing of the ending is perfect you are left wanting more!

I loved the fact that the author narrated it herself, she has a lovely voice and made for great listening.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins for letting me review this audiobook.

This was a lovely little short novella, and a perfect hit of contemporary romance fiction. Every girls nightmare: a lost suitcase before a best friends wedding and the guy who has your suitcase just happens to be a single heartthrob … a great set up to a really entertaining story.

I also love that the author narrated the audiobook and it was great to listen too. Perfectly enjoyable pass of a few hours and one that’s bound to entertain.

This was such a fun audiobook, loved it from beginning to end. When there is a mix up between suitcases, the story hops from Sam to Izzy in their search for their missing bag before the wedding of their friends. Unbeknownst to the other the story follows them as they try ( and fail) to exchange bags before the big event. This was fast paced, funny and totally plausible, plus the setting of a destination wedding in Italy made this such a dreamy listen on a cold January fay.
The narrator (also the author) had such great timing, the comic bits landing just write and the characters brought to life.
Will be recommending and keeping an eye out for the next book from the author.

A hilarious, short but very sweet story about how sometimes being in the wrong place at the right time can work out for the best. I am a huge Laura Jane Williams fan and this book didn't disappoint. Funny from start to finish.

Thank you to Netgalley and Harper Collins for the audiobook.

This is not my usual kind of book but I was pleasantly surprised! I liked the pace of the story and both of the main characters. A cute quick read!

This story was great!
Funny, easily relatable characters, and just so romantic!
What's not to like... well, the length, I guess - It is too darn short!

Izzy and Birchy arrive in Italy separately to attend a wedding. They have never met before. They both have the wrong suitcase - each other’s.

Narrated from both Izzy and Birchy’s perspective, we see a story of miscommunication, second guessing and maybe some romance. Kept me listening and wanting to know what would happen next. The best thing I’ve read/listened to this year! Cannot wait to read more from this author.

Written and narrated by Laura Jane Williams herself, this audiobook novella is perfect. Williams can accentuate the words as she did in her head when writing the story.

Thank you to Netgalley for giving me a copy of this audiobook on exchange for an honest review.

This was a really fun story to listen to and the author narrating the story herself was just a brilliant choice! When narration is so spot on it always improves the book.

It's a novella, so the audiobook is also short, but it packs in a lot of laughs within a short amount of time. The characters were so real, as if I had met them in person and they definitely come across as very British! The situations they got themselves into and how they dealt was just a pleasure to listen to making me laugh out loud more than once.

This was the second story by Laura Jane Williams that I have listened to. I also have one of her books waiting for me on my TBR pile and I would not hesitate to buy more of her books, although I might be leaning towards listening to them rather than reading them, especially if Laura will narrate the story herself.

This was just a great and refreshing quick read. It was funny, enjoyable and silly.

A light and fun read!

Also the narrator was great!

This was such a fun novella.

At first, when I realized how short it was, I thought I would just feel meh about it because I would not have enough time to connect with the characters. But I was wrong. I loved Izzy, I was giggling half the time and would love to know more about her and Sam.

The audiobook is definitely the way to go with this one, it is read by the author herself and it is flawless.

This was a really cute audio novella.
A real quick 2,5 hours story, about how a switched suitcase messes with the preparation of Izzy and Sam.
And how they find eachother.
This was very charming and British, also read by the author herself. I had a really good time.

A sweet, endearing chick-lit novella with a little bit of naughtiness.
Quite simply put, I loved it. I couldn't stop laughing. It is so British and the author's narration adds to the hilarity of it.

I hate to admit to this, but I've not read anything by Laura Jane Williams before and I feel I have missed out. I will be rectifying this post-haste lol
Honestly, a fantastic read/listen full of witty characters and fantastic one-liners.
I completely adore Birchy (Sam) & Izzy.

A perfect Valentine's Day gift for ears as well as the heart.

Izzy has just landed in Italy for her friends wedding, she can’t wait. Unlike Sam, who has been stood up at the airport and now has not date for his best friends wedding. Things go from bad to worse for Sam when his suitcase goes missing. Izzy gets given a suitcase full of mens clothing and decides to keep it until her suitcase is returned.

I can’t remember the last time I genuinely laughed out loud to an audiobook. This had me in absolute hysterics. Laura’s narration suited Izzy to a T. This is the perfect little romcom. I adored it. I really hope there will be a second one as I’d like to see what’s next for Izzy and Sam. My only complaint is that I wanted it to last for much longer as I was enjoying it too much.

Gorgeous, light-hearted, relatable and funny romance novella, made all the more captivating by the wonderful narration from the author.

Izzy and Sam have never met but they are both on their way to a destination wedding, and things are not going smoothly for either of them. When they finally arrive, things go from bad to worse when their luggage containing their wedding outfits go missing.

Tempers are understandably frayed as they are running out of time and trying to make the best of the situation. But when they meet there seems to be a spark, or is that just frustration and annoyance?

I loved this My only criticism is that I didn't want it to end ❤️

A Delightful listen as well as a great story. I haven’t always enjoyed audio books, but I absolutely adored this one, listening to this story being told by the author, putting the nuances into the voices, showing the characters as more than just simple people. What starts a simply an annoying coincidence of matching suitcases that end up in the wrong rooms, becomes so much more. The depth to the characters made this great for me, I really enjoyed that. The whole story engaged me, and kept me hooked the whole way through.

A new author to me, and will be looking out for more. A simple but great story about two people who met at a wedding when they have each others luggage. Great characters and well written, really enjoyed it. Wish it had been longer.

'The Wrong Suitcase' is a short and sweet romance novella. I really enjoyed listening to the audiobook! The author’s narration was wonderful, I loved her accent!!

I might pick up more books by this author in the future...

"I was never supposed to be here with anyone else. I was never supposed to get the right luggage delivered to my room. It was always going to be this way."

A funny, light-hearted, romantic tale that works perfectly as an audiobook, with the narration being done by the author herself! This was highly enjoyable, made me smile, and put me in a great mood for the rest of my day.

Being a novella, this audiobook is only just over 2 hours long. It finished far too quickly for me, although it did make doing my housework much more entertaining! I have been left wanting more from these characters, and fingers cross there will be more from them in the future. I loved the way this author created charming and likable characters and the escapism that this book offers.

Highly recommended to anyone looking for a quick, short mood boost. Sure to pick you up whenever needed.

This was such a fun book to listen to, lighthearted, funny, a little cringey at times but nothing I can't handle for a fun and easy book.
Some audiobooks can be difficult to pay attention to but this story had me hooked and the narrator was great, gave a very colloquial feel, like listening to a friend telling you story. Would definitely recommend!

This book is a fun short story. Told from two points of view, which isn't completely predictable, I found it pretty uplifting. I liked that the Author narrated the book herself, which was a nice touch. However, with the audio being pretty short (2 hours audio/circa 100 pages as a book) I would question the price point for the audio (£6.99 - or more expensive as an Audible credit) - I'm not sure it would be value for money.

Many thanks to NetGallery and HarperCollins UK Audio for this snappy read - it is greatly appreciated.

Brilliant story.

I love all of Laura Jane Williams’ books and have followed her on social media for a long time. So to have her narrate it is a bonus.

Great story and it’s short enough to listen to quickly.

Publication date: February 12th (I heard why, I spotted a date in this book. 😄)

Izzy finds out the suitcase she has in her room is the wrong one. Sam is in the same boat. Will they ever solve this? 🤔

This was a fun little novella. The audiobook is only 2 hours and 17 minutes long, and it is narrated by the author herself, which always brings something extra to the audio. 😊

Since this is quite a short story, I knew the love would be instantaneous. Not really my favourite trope, but I am willing to move past it. 😏
Overall I liked it. It kept me entertained the entire time. 🤩
I also felt as if I could meet these people in my day-to-day life. They felt so normal. 🤓

Perfect novella if you need a fast read. 💙💙

I loved this book. It would be a perfect book to listen to when on a beach or on your commute to work.
I really like books which have two narrators, and this book does it well. It’s a simple premise two people get the wrong suitcases and have to get ready for a wedding! What can go wrong!

Thanks to netgalley for the ARC, all views are my own.

What a lovely story. I fell in love with both characters equally and I love it when a story is told from both points of view. I will read anything Williams writes. She’s such a great storyteller and the characters feel so real.

As a huge fan of Laura Jane Williams writing I was excited to see a novella being released a few months before her next summer read. The wrong suitcase did not disappoint! If anything the biggest letdown about this book was how short it was. I am praying for Laura to write more on these characters. Especially Cat she was such an interesting character I really enjoyed her part in the story.
So Izzy, everyone knows an Izzy. She was so relatable and joyful to get to know. You really want the happy ending that is anticipated for her.
Sam, he was the messy, mummy’s boy but sexy leading man. I really enjoyed the romantic scene between him and Izzy, or was there?
The wrong suitcase leads to the right man. Hopefully! You’ll have to read to find out but what a journey. Laura makes you feel like you are in Italy and ready, eventually to attend the wedding of the year!

A nice short romantic comedy…I just wish it was longer!
I love LJW writing so much and have read all of her books. They’re easy to read, great characters and this was no exception. Well worth a read!

I forgot that this was a short listen (2hrs and 40mins) and when I realised that it was nearly over I was a little bit sad as I wanted longer with the characters. It was a charming and funny story. I really loved Sam and I was rooting for him and Izzy from the beginning. I was almost as frustrated as Sam with Izzy at the beginning because her scattiness was holding up their initial meeting. The miscommunication led to lots of funny scenes and I literally laughed and smiled for the duration of the book.

This heartwarming romantic story is perfect for enjoying in one sitting.

The Wrong Suitcase
By Laura Jane Williams

I love that Laura is releasing this book around Valentine’s Day as a treat for us all - and that she has narrated the audio herself! Like the rest of the bookstagram community I am very eagerly anticipating LJW’s latest novel - One Night With You, so having this little novella to bridge the gap is just perfect.

Set in a lavish Tuscan castle, our MC, Izzy is recently out of a relationship and attending her best friends wedding, unfortunately her bag has been lost and she’s been left with a bag full of men’s clothes and shoes - chaos ensues and with her chance encounter with handsome, newly dumped Sam could there be a little more on the cards for Izzy?

This fun packed, lustful novella was just the antidote to a dreary winter day - I loved LJW’s narration and I adored the characters and their connection. If you’re after a rom com, look no further!

A quick and easy read that I found myself picking up after a long day to unwind. The characters are beautifully written and I came to love them within the first few pages and was rooting for them all the way to the end. At times I wanted to stop reading because I just wanted the experience to go on for longer.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This audiobook is one of the best I have listened to in a while - both the fast paced plot and excellent narration by Williams herself. She really brings the story to life and helps grip you to the plot, although short I was super invested.
This short, funny, dramatic, sweet novella, is a great witty and romantic read from the author of Our Stop and The Love Square, The Wrong Suitcase is a special short, celebrating what can happen when we leave it up to fate.

This is the second book by Laura Jane Williams I have read and I have loved both books I've read by her. Williams has certainly become a instant buy for me. I honestly can't praise her work enough, she's such an easy comfort read who I'd highly recommend.

This short and sweet novella really got me in the mood for summer! A witty and romantic read from the author of Our Stop and The Love Square, The Wrong Suitcase is a special short for Valentine’s Day, celebrating what can happen when we leave it up to fate.

Izzy and Birchy arrive in Chianti for a friend’s wedding. They don’t know each other… yet!

When a mix up means they each end up with the wrong suitcase, will getting them back mean getting something else in return?

This brilliantly read (by the author!) mini audiobook made me laugh, cry and even swoon!

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me access an advance copy of this audiobook in exchange for my feedback.

This audiobook is one of the best things I have listened to in a while - both the fast paced plot and excellent narration by Williams herself had me chortling away on a packed Tube and daydreaming about a trip to Tuscany. After the pandemic, this is a tonic to wanderlust and dating droughts. The premise is easy low stakes but very effective, the main characters were different enough to be interesting but enough similarities there so it was plausible they would fall for each other but for me it is was the fully fleshed characterizations in so few pages that made this a story that I was invested in. TW for open door romance content. The narration for me was a real highlight as she puts so much personality into it that I was hooked listening, and it was especially nice to hear it as she intended it to be read, inflections and all.
A great reas/listen - thanks NetGalley!
