I have heard about Steinem, but I didn't really know too much.
So pleased I read this book, now want to find out more. I hope this has the same effect on the young people who read this book, who are the main target audience for the books in this series.
I loved the focus on gender and feminism, and how this reflected in the illustrations.
This book is so positive and inspiring - just like Steinem herself!

I just Love this little books by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara, must be one of the best little books to purchase for children, these are the best-selling series of books and educational games that explore the lives of outstanding people, from designers and artists to scientists and activists. All of them achieved incredible things, yet each began life as a child with a dream.

So, this latest book is about Gloria Steinem is one of the latest of her books and this is so beautifully illustrated from start to end. Gloria realised from a young age that the women were treated differently than men, and that wasn't fair. Beginning her career as a journalist, her witty and honest articles challenged readers to see the world through her eyes. Following in the footsteps of her suffragist grandmother, she became passionate about feminism and grassroots activism.

There was so much work to be done, and Gloria kept working – she became a passionate leader in the women's liberation movement and dedicated her life to brining about change. A spokesperson for an entire generation, to this day Gloria inspires us to keep working for a fairer society – for everyone.

Yet another fantastic book from an amazing series of books!
I am astounded that I had never heard of this lady before - she is the sort of lady that everyone should be taught about in school, to encourage equal rights.
Loved it and can't wait for the next one!

Thankyou to Netgalley and Quarto’s Frances Lincoln Children’s Books for this arc.

This latest book is about Gloria Steinem, whom I had no idea about before I read this. I had no idea who she was, what she did or anything.

I found out she was a journalist who's witty, honest articles challenged readers to see the world through her eyes. She became a journalist when he mother could not, as at the time women were not encouraged to be educated or have a job and were treated differently from men which Gloria didn't agree with and wanted to change.

She became passionate about feminism which she got from her Suffragette Grandmother.

Steinem encourages us to stand up to equality and teaches younger readers to fight for a fairer world.

She created the Womens Media Centre which promotes equality for women through articles and the media. It's still running today. She also promoted the rights for equal marriage rights.

No matter what gender you are you deserve the same rights as everyone else.
