It is trite to say that James Patterson has written a good story again.

This episode of the Womens' murder club series is another surefire winner. The four members of the club are called on to investigate a seeming suicide, whe a police officer is found dead from an overdose. Along with that come rumours of a large illegal weapons shipment to be distributed across America.

The friends then work to uncover these disparate issues, and the tension rises as each of them fall into danger along the way.

If you are already a fan of James Patterson, this will not disappoint. If not, it is recommended for fans of police procedural and law enforcement dramas.

“22 Seconds”, the latest book in the long-running Women's Murder Club series’s is one of James Patterson’s best ever instalments.
It has a nail-biting plot, this time around involving murderous illegal gunrunning, with some good character development and a few twists and turns to make things interesting.
The usual characters and elements that his readers have grown to love are all present and correct; James Patterson is never likely to make any drastic changes to his winning formulae, and we love him for that.
With tension and jeopardy throughout, “22 Seconds” is another page-turning triumph from the unstoppable James Patterson!

Superb read! I have read every single one of the Murder Club books and enjoyed them all. This is no exception, page turning and gripping. If you want a great book for you vacation reading then look no further. James Patterson strikes again.

22 Seconds by James Patterson is another must read story in his Woman’s murder club and book number 22.

Cartels, drugs and other mischiefs are just a few clues for the investigation. Each new step in it will bring out more insight into a story that kept me invested throughout this book.
Suspenseful, addictive and unpredictable.

A very grippy book that keeps you hanging on wanting to read more. It did take me a bit to get into the book as it seems to jump around a lot at the start but once it settles down, you want to keep on reading to find out what happens next.

I’m always nervous about starting a new James Patterson book in case it isn’t up to the expected usual high standard. I needn’t have worried; this, the next in the Women’s Murder Club series is just as good as I hoped. This time the 4 members of the club are all drawn into a case that involves unpopular new gun laws, as well as the body count adding up. It’s a riveting read, that had me eager to see where the plot was going, even if it meant staying up all night to do it. The thing that scares me is that it’s so believable, you know that something like this could really be happening. Loved it.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Wow! Book 22 and the latest instalment in The Women’s Murder Club is brilliantly written, I love the way that the books move with the times and this book is no exception with its story of new gun laws, Cartel’s moving weapons and border control.
Yet another great collaboration between Maxine Paetro & James Patterson. The books co written by these two authors tend to be next level.
I thoroughly enjoy all the Murder Club and Private series books.
Considering this is book 22 in the series, it is without a doubt a superb thriller, that will not let you down.

I don’t even bother reading the synopsis for James Patterson books anymore, it is bound to be a fast paced and addictive read. And The Women’s Murder Club is a guaranteed winner for me. 22 books in and they still manage to thrill me right until the very last page.

Lindsay and Joe get the chance to work together in this instalment, to intercept an illegal gun shipment from south of the border. The body count is high and a Lindsay finds herself a target. Meanwhile Cindy is struggling to write her book and. Lairs gets a call to help out with a heartbreaking case. All in a days work for these women.

I will never hesitate to recommend James Patterson books to lovers of crime fiction. Another 5 star read. Thank you Random House UK,, Cornerstone, Century for my advanced copy to read. Published April 28th

I have read all in this series and I must say James Patterson and Maxine Paetro pull it off - again !!!
This was a a book I had been saving for a rainy day and I was not disappointed. I will not repeat the synopsis because other reviewers have done so.
Looking forward to 23 !

Classic Women's Murder Club, and I loved it. I adore the relationship between the women in this book and how they drive the action, I love how character development has never waned over the entire series and how they feel like family to us as well as.each other.
If you are a first time reader, I would not suggest starting with this book as you do need a familiarity with the characters to fully appreciate the relationship between them, however, the plot itself would stand alone.
Enjoyable, fun read that holds true to the quality of the series.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Random House UK, Cornerstone for an advance copy of 22 Seconds, the twenty second novel to feature Detective Lindsay Boxer and her friends, known collectively as the Women’s Murder Club.

There is a new law in California, limiting firearms availability and legality and certain sections of the populace are protesting. At the same time law enforcement is hearing rumours of a large smuggling operation bringing in illegal drugs and guns.

I thoroughly enjoyed 22 Seconds which is a high octane dive into current day America. I think that one of Mr Patterson’s great strengths is his ability to touch the zeitgeist and he does it here admirably with guns and drugs. It makes the scenario plausible, even if what follows pushes the boundaries. Still, nobody reads this series for realism, they want entertainment and that is what they get by the bucketful.

The plot has a bit of everything, shootouts, a cunning plot, double crosses, tension and even a tug on the heartstrings. The other characters of the Women’s Murder Club, Cindy, Claire and Yuki, do get a mention, although Claire’s story is unrelated and obviously included to give her a voice but this is very much the Lindsay and Joe (Molinari, her husband) show. He’s consulting with the FBI on an extradition warrant and she’s investigating the gun smuggling rumours and a series of potentially related murders.

The novel isn’t particularly profound and I think the simple language and style contribute to this, but, so what, when it’s entertaining? There is serendipity and the investigators always seem to be on the right track with their theorising and plans, so perhaps not so realistic, but it gives the novel constant forward propulsion and the reader great satisfaction as the bad guys gradually get their just deserts.

22 Seconds is a good read that I have no hesitation in recommending.

Another really good book from James Patterson. Who once again proves that he is a really great author.

The setting of this book is California and we are that a new law has come into place that limits firearms availability and legality to certain sections of the population and some people are really unhappy about it. There is also a smugglers operation of illegal drugs and firearms coming into the city due to the new law that has come in.
As you would expect to see from James Patterson books this book is filled of so much action, shout outs, tension, cunning plots, twist and turns galore and emotional tumour to tug at your heartstrings. It also raises many questions about the laws in place in America surrounding firearms and drugs. It makes you think that this is something that could very plausibly happen.

Another really good easy to read book from best selling author James Patterson.

Really enjoyed this latest Murder Club instalment. It didn't have quite as much of the girls as I'd have liked with the main focus very much on Lindsay and Joe. But nonetheless it was typical JP and MP through and through. A perfect writing duo, I love how these stories are so hard hitting and non stop. There is literally no break in the action in this one, completely on the go from the beginning.

Absolutely recommended to fans of JP, crime thrillers, police procedurals and general crime fiction.

As always James Patterson comes up with another brilliant book. Having read all of the womens mystery club books this one like the previous 21 does not disappoint. Absolute page turner and couldn’t put it down. Will give 10/10 for a follow on book in the series and as a first read to the gang!

Thanks to @netgalley for arc of this fabulous book
James Patterson never writes a bad book an certainly never a womens murder club book
This was a non stop shuddering rollercoaster of a book from start to end. You always have to wait to see who the real bad guy is ?
This book revolves around drugs and guns and big money and big cartels but neither the fbi or the SFPD can work out who are the top men
Until cops start turning up dead with lips stapled together and notes written on them saying ‘ you talk you die’
all sorts of cops no one could tie them together and then Boxer and her husband get threatened and they start to add things up and it starts to come together
And the end is a blast

Just love this author! As always, the four members of the murder club, Lindsey, Claire, Yuki and Cindy, are all involved in the book. There's nothing worse than being able to figure out the ending of a thriller, and this one kept me guessing. A wonderful and incredibly rich novel with plenty of action!

As a new law comes into force in California banning automatic weapons and long guns there are protests from both those who want to keep their second amendment rights and from those who are anti-guns. The SFPD get a tip that a shipment of drugs and guns are due to be delivered to the city and sold. Both Lindsay Boxer and her husband Joe Molinari are involved with the task force but it becomes clear that they are also targets of those against the new law. Meanwhile, Lindsay's close friend, ME Claire Washburn is called to assist with a case in another part of the state and her journalist friend Cindy has writer's block as she tries to finish her book about serial killer Evan Burke.

Another great read from this series - there are always multiple strands to the story that all tie together at the end.

Thanks to Netgalley, Random House UK and James Patterson for the ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

The twenty second novel in the Women's Murder Club series and again this does not disappoint. Fast paced, exciting plot and interesting characters. An enjoyable read.

'22 Seconds' is an enjoyable instalment in the Women's Murder Club series however it is not my favourite. The plot is a bit weak and dare I say it - dull. The saving grace is I love catching up with the characters who after so long feel like friends. However, Lindsay's friends barely feature and a couple of them have the barest of mentions. Dare I say it but is this series coming to an end?
I still enjoyed the read and as a lifelong fan of Patterson hope there will be more and that they are back to their best.

Part of the Womens Murder Club Series, if you've not read them before at the start of the book a brief is given on the main characters, and it will not effect your reading of this book.

22 Seconds focuses mainly on the latest case for Lynsey Boxer, which links with her husband Joe Molinari which puts their immediate family at risk. Another great read from this series and James Patterson.

My first women’s murder club book and it took a little while to get into it as it seemed to jump around a lot but it was a gripping read and I can see how this series appeals to so many people. Just what you want in a thriller to keep you absorbed.

Patterson has the potential to become a auto buy author.

I will definitely recommend this book. I always love his book titles.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, having read all the others in this series and enjoyed them all. I felt the last few in the series weren't quite as good as some of the others but this one picked up the pace and I loved it.

It has all the usual characters Lyndsay Boxer, Cindy, Claire and Yuki who all make up the Women's Murder Club and all Lyndsay's colleagues and family and great to see the characters development.

In this book Lyndsay finds out about a shipment of weapons and drugs coming across the border in a case that comes very close to home.

I could imagine this as a one one off tv show/movie.

Thanks to Netgalley and Random House, Cornerstone for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Another book in the Womens' murder club series! Like it's predecessors it does not disappoint. A fast moving story that is well written and keeps your attention from the beginning to the very end. Looking forward to the next installment.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House for the advance copy of this book.

Another great book in the Women's murder club series. I love Lindsay and Joe working together and this is a fast paced book not too much about the other girls. Highly recommended.

Another fantastic read as we have come to expect from James Patterson, thriller writer extraordinaire. Keeps you guessing as you read along. Lindsay and Joe take president in the stories but it also features the other members of the women’s murder club, it can be read as a stand-alone but I think the reader may need the background from other stories to really get into the characters. Very well written, a great holiday read.

Sergeant Lindsay Boxer has a lot on her mind. She gets word of drugs and weapons crossing the Mexican border. The new restrictive gun laws have tensions simmering and citizens emotions running high. When bodies start turning up, all with the same warning written on them, she starts to make connections. You talk, you die. Boxer gets into the thick of it, and quickly finds a target on her back. Cracking this case becomes a matter of life or death. Working with her team, and her partner Joe, recruited as a consultant for the FBI, they throw all their investigative power into stopping the guns hitting the streets. Meanwhile, other members of the Women’s Murder club are grappling with their own dramas, and some seem to be connected.

This is the 22 instalment of the Women’s Murder Club series, and as always, it did not disappoint. If you know the series, then you know the characters, and feel like you are back in the family, and almost like you are working alongside them. If you are new to the books, then you are brought along for a thrilling ride, racing to a tense, nail biting conclusion. I won’t say any more for fear of giving away the story. What I will say is read this book. If you have not read any in the series, you will be delighted to have such a back catalogue to get stuck into after finishing this one, as you will be undoubtedly hooked. If you are already a convert of the series, then enjoy, and roll on book number 23!

What’s not to love about a James Patterson book, great characters, fast paced and a great story line. I tend to finish his books quite quickly because I am reluctant to stop reading as I want to know what happens next. It can be read as a stand alone but I found it was easier if you knew the characters from the previous books.
