But Sara’s problem is even bigger — she faces the ethical dilemma of her life. Is killing in cold blood ever justified? Sara has to decide now and live with the consequences. Does she kill an innocent man? Or does she kill the future for humanity?

Advance Praise

"I just finished Amateur Assassin: A WolfLady Mystery Novella by Sue Denver, and it was a lot of fun. This novella is a fast read with strong prose, and a plot that moves briskly along — all positives which made it so enjoyable.

The main character, Sara Flores is, well, a werewolf. I liked the fact that this very important piece of information about Sara was stated right at the beginning of the story. There’s no puzzling about whether this is actually a possible condition, or whether it’s a believable situation. Instead, it’s just who Sara is and what she does. That is one of the things that I liked about Amateur Assassin — the up-front nature that the book takes with the main character and the circumstances of her adventure.

And because Sara is a werewolf, her senses are more finely tuned than the average human, which is an integral aspect of the story. Her enhanced olfactory abilities compel her to follow a woman (who she dubs Mystery Woman), which in turn leads Sara to a grisly murder scene. Mystery Woman, who is gravely wounded, entrusts the future of the world to Sara. She has foisted an almost impossible ethical dilemma on Sara — should someone die in the present for their future transgressions? That type of earth-changing dilemma.

If you’re the type of reader who, like me, is willing to accept the unusual and quirky in a book, this will be an enjoyable read for you. If you like a story that moves along at a good clip, you’ll enjoy this book. And if you like strong, decisive characters, then you will enjoy Amateur Assassin. Read it! It’s fun!

I haven’t read any other books in this series. Yet. And it is obvious that there are other books. Sara is an interesting and engaging character faced with an incredible dilemma. This book kept me riveted and thinking long past the last page.
