Skoy's fascination with Turkey took hold the first time she set foot on Turkish soil in 1998. She saw a story that provided a window into turbulent times, and she became captivated with why "we create magnificent cultures and then destroy them."
Skoy is a retired psychoanalyst living in Placitas, New Mexico.
