Description

A Stone that knows good, and punishes evil.

In Camden Town, London, Eva leaves a party with a stolen jacket, followed by her ex-boyfriend, Darryn. She has no idea what dangerous item is hidden in her pocket.

When her hand closes around it and its heat sears her skin, the ground splits open, whisking her and Darryn away into an underground time tunnel. Darryn’s brother Daniel, who is the only witness to the strange event, retrieves the Stone, unwittingly unleashing its owner, Aeron.

Aeron, a creature of darkness, weakened by the loss of the Stone, is set on killing Daniel and recovering his lost power, but Calliope, a wayward harpy, puts a stop to his plan, snatching Daniel out of his grasp.

While Eva and Darryn land in the year 1708, in a strange village that is run by Zora, an evil witch, Daniel and Calliope remain in the 21st Century, doing their utmost to outrun Aeron and his minions.

Two parallel stories, two different worlds, even two different centuries, both with a common purpose: find the Stone before Aeron does. If Aeron gets his hands on the Stone, all will be lost and betrayal lurks around every corner.

"Christine Duts tells two exciting parallel adventures centered around protecting a magical stone from an evil being in The Path of the Stone! After accidentally stealing the magic stone from a party, Eva and her ex boyfriend Darryn are transported to the past. Back in the present, Eva’s brother Daniel retrieves the stone, accidentally releasing the evil being Aeron from it. Now both siblings must confront monsters and work with unlikely allies as they seek to protect the stone from Aeron in two different time periods. This was a really fun adventure filled with all the creatures and lore you could want from a mythological epic! The time travel and double plot aspects of the story were great, and the characters were fun and meaningful! Anyone who reads my reviews knows that I love Percy Jackson, and this is a book that definitely captured a lot of that feel. If you love mythology, definitely come travel through time with The Path of the Stone!"

"I was not sure about reading this book. I had just finished reading ""A Man of His Word"", and I was not sure I was ready for another fantasy. But the premise of Christines' book intrigued me. Two timelines and multiple characters later I was glad I did. I will never look at harpies the same way again.

Christine has forever changed my outlook on the mythical creatures (or are they?).

A story about pirates interwoven with time travel. I was hooked from the start and enjoyed the book immensely.

The story has grit, with characters who have real emotions. I cannot see how Christine managed to pull this together, but I am glad she did. I look forward to more."

"I don't normally read this Genre, but now I eagerly await more books like this from Christine! She is a FANTASTIC author! I read these 286 pages in less than a day, and I was on the edge of my seat the entire way! The plot was intriguing and well thought out! Christine Duts is well on her way!"
