Description
Love in a Time of Pestilence is the fifth collection of poetry from Suffolk author, Heather Goddin. This collection focuses all about life, the things that affect everyone and will strike a chord with many people, even those who aren't particularly poetry readers.
The poems are about the events and emotions that shape or have shaped all of our lives. At times, moving and tragic, at other times, funny and often quirky. The juxtaposition of these dark and light aspects make a metaphor of her poems for the duality in our everyday lives - the realisation that while there is suffering and sadness, there is also hope and joy to be found in every day.

These are poems of their time. Reading them was like going back in time to a place where we all experienced similar emotions including fear, closeness, separation and uncertainty. The poet has captured the time perfectly and there were many poems that I will revisit as of course there is nothing 'normal' about our 'new normal'.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an e-copy of this book.
