This was an excellent book. This historical aspect was very educational. I love learning about Cleopatra, and this was an interesting look into her history. I would definitely recommend this book to others. It was a very well written story and the plot was just awesome. I am giving this five stars.

I had enjoyed the VanOps series by Avanti Centrae so I was excited to read Cleopatra's Vendetta because of it. I'm glad I did because I really enjoyed going through this adventure, it had what I was looking for in this type of book. I enjoyed the plot of the book, it was fun and interesting. I was pulled into this world and thoroughly enjoyed going on this ride. The characters themselves were great and I enjoyed the way they were written.

"That double-edged sense of paranoid perception stemmed from childhood, when her basic need for security hadn’t been met. She saw the world as a dangerous place, the glass half-empty, the hike uphill both ways. Those tendencies gave her excellent covert ops skills, but they hadn’t worked so well for her home life in Berkshire."

What does Cleopatra and a Special Ops commander have in common? More than you would imagine. Tim Stryker is the leader of an elite Special Ops team. He is in Italy, with his wife, a smart, driven, powerful CEO. They are on holidays with their daughter, Harper, trying to save their fast crumbling marriage following the death of their infant son. The holiday comes to an abrupt halt when Angie and Harper are kidnapped.

Stryker will stop at nothing to get his family back. But this is more than a simple kidnapping. As his team gets to work on the case, working to find where the kidnappers base is, they discover a connection to a recent string of assassinations. While Stryker and team are working from the outside, Angie is using her smarts to work on escaping from the kidnappers' compound. She unearths a dark secret, linking the group to a plot that connects all the way back to Cleopatra herself.

This book managed to weave two completely seemingly unrelated, and unrelatable, topics together in a fascinating manner. As a thriller, it would have been action paced and engaging, but not the most memorable of reads. But weaving in the historical fiction, and the mystery wound throughout was a tantalising hook, keeping you completely vested in the outcome throughout.

Think Indiana Jones, meets Dan Brown, meets National Treasure, meets Liam Neeson in Taken. Then stir it all up, add in some kick ass female characters, and you have a page turner on your hands!

Another winning effort by Avanti Centrae! A great start to another action filled series. Once again, the depth and amount of historical information shows that the author has done her research. It is great to see the main characters develop and mature as this story unfolds. This is yet another page turner with lots of adventure, action and twists.

Centrae's book is a fast paced action thriller. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and read it quickly. Cleopatra discovered a Roman group that was fighting her. She hid the secret in her storeroom with other treasures, that have never been discovered. A present day think tank operations group leader has a spouse and child disappear. The ops team quickly deploys and trys to quickly find the spouse and child. A secret organization is discovered with an interest in Cleopatra.

An astonishing novel that keeps a great pace, and every chapter is more exciting than the others, until I could not wait to find out the ending. The Sons of Adam have kidnapped Angie and her daughter Harper. Stryker and Sam set out to look for them, accompanied by others. What happens next I will not say, for fear of spoiling the novel, but I do recommend the novel for readers who love Dan Brown and anyone who likes a tense thriller, full of suspense. I was entranced until I finished the novel.
