There is no magical land you finally arrive at where everything is figured out, fixed and sorted. Life, like us, is a sum of moving parts, and if we’re lucky, we get to keep f**king up, figuring it out and laughing in the face of it all.

Nell’s back. Her life still isn’t going to plan. And she’s still asking the big questions and getting none of the answers. Like, for example:

1. Why is falling in love so easy, but staying in love so hard?

2. What do you do when your friendships are put to the ultimate test?

3. Can we ever really live in the moment and leave the past behind?

4. When everything goes tits up, do you fall apart or jump on a plane to LA with Cricket (an eighty-something widow and your BFF)?

5. And when all else fails, will celebrity-scented candles, smashed avocados and Instagram filters save us?*

In this hilarious, un-put-downable follow-up to the bestselling Confessions of a Forty-Something F##k Up, now the basis for the major TV series called Not Dead Yet, there are laugh-out-loud lessons to be learned, truths to be told, adventures to go on and joys to discover.

But first, Nell has some more confessions . . .

Having read and thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series , I have to say this was an even better and funnier read. A real joy to reconnect with characters from the first book and see how their lives progress.

It is now post covid lockdown and the world is beginning to get back to normal. Nell is absolutly over the moon when Edward proposes to her which she delightedly accepts. Whilst sharing the flat with not only Edward and their dog, but also his two teenage sons, a surprise pregnancy test throws Nells World into a spin. It seems that actually they do not see their future invested in the same things and break off their engagement.

Nell reaches out to her great friend Cricket as well as her eclectic group of narried friends, all offering their own thoughts.

Are Edward and Nell meant to he together or is life for Nell meant to be as a single woman, investigating IVF, hosting her own podcast and answering an agony aunts column with Cricket.

A joy of a book....highly recommend.

After reading the first book of confessions and loving it I knew I had to read this one and quickly. To begin with it wasn’t what I expected at all and took me about a quarter to get into it but then I was in full Nell and Cricket loving mode. It really did not disappoint. Potentially a few triggers so worth looking in to but really enjoyable follow up and would highly recommend.

Take it on holiday or anytime when you have a few hours to yourself.

Even better than the first book confessions of a forty something. And that is saying something because i really loved the first installment. Pick this amazing book up if you are looking for a story that you will become so lost in that you won't be able to put it down. Excellent I just hope there is a third book now.

I loved confessions of a forty something f*ck up so was really excited to read the follow up. I absolutely loved it! Catching up with Nell and cricket was like catching up with old friends. Their friendship as adorable. I would love to have my very own wise and fabulous cricket. The authors writing is witty and funny and the characters feel so real. I just love reading about older women and their trials and tribulations. This is a 5 star read and I would highly recommend it.

Life really isn't getting any less messy or chaotic for Nell Stevens. About the only thing that's not turned into an utter shambles in the podcast.

Friendships are being tested in the most trying circumstances, relationships are on and off quicker than a lighthouse...and moving is a real pain in the backside

The brilliant sequel doesn't disappoint

I picked this one up as I heard a lot of hype about it , and I can say I absolutely devoured it in one sitting , I really enjoyed it and also taken a lot of inspiration from this book , and this is hard to find as a lot of books don’t get it right, this one had me giggling, smiling, and sometimes teary . This is the first day I am going to look at my live as adventure and to think whatever I do I will get there in life, there is no correct way to do it .

I absolutely loved this book, her first Confessions of a Forty Something F*** Up ended up being one of my favourite books so I knew I had to read this one, and it was just as good. If you read anything this year make sure it's the first one and this one.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

Nell Stevens and her chaotic life are back!!

This was such a funny, yet touching read. This author always deals with real topics, and they are dealt with sensitively and in a way that breaks the taboo around subjects. Nell is a brilliant character, and is really relatable.
I also love Nell’s elderly friend, Cricket. She is so down to Earth and always reminds Nell of what and who is important in life. The writing is excellent, with humour in all the right places. I really hope this author writes more books with Nell. Highly recommended!!

Nell’s life seems to be going as planned for once, she survived the Covid lockdowns, she’s getting married, she’s still busy writing obituaries, her friends are ok and her frenemy Annabel isn’t giving her such a hard time lately… That is until everything seems to fall apart again. Her friend Holly gets diagnosed with cancer, she breaks up with Edward, Annabel is…. well just Annabel. At least Nell has her podcast and now she and Cricket will write a column in the paper too. Will there ever be a happy ending for Nell?

Can I just start with the fact that I love Cricket and need someone like her in my life? She is the most amazing human being for sure! Although creating your own coffin… maybe I’d pass on that 😂 This sequel to Confessions of a forty-something f**k up did not disappoint! I bought the first novel at the airport because the titel made me laugh, and when I saw @netgalley offered the arc for a review I didn’t hesitate for a minute. A lovely story which reminds you of what exactly is important in life and that we have to be grateful for the little things in life (see, a coffin would a big thing 😉)
Totally recommend!

Nell is back and is questioning her life choices. A book all about friendships and navigating life with humour. An enjoyable read. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me review this book.

Here’s the sequel to one of my favourite books of 2021 and well, I was not disappointed!

We revisited our favourite friendship duo Nell and Cricket, went in a trip to LA, saw a couple of weddings, babies and navigated ‘love in later life’.

This book was beautifully written, hilariously funny (I was literally snorting out loud at certain points) and I just adored catching up with Nell and Cricket.

Thank you Alexandra for another absolute gem of a book. Please, pretty please with sugar on the top, can we have a Confessions of a F##k up Book 3??

Nell is back!

First of all, thank you NetGalley, Pan Macmillan, and Alexandra Potter for allowing me access to this e-ARC!

More Confessions of a Forty-Something F##k Up is exactly everything I hoped it would be! There’s more Cricket, Edward and Arthur (🐶). There’s Nell’s step-family and her amazing friends (and Annabelle). The whole book took me on a rollercoaster of emotions- I even shed a tear during this book!

I loved the way Alexandra Potter incorporated the pandemic into the start of the novel. It was the perfect way to have Nell reevaluate herself after finding peace with her life in the first novel. It reminded me of how much our lives got completely tipped upside down thanks to COVID-19.

If you haven’t read Alexandra’s first Confessions- I highly recommend. These two books have quickly become favourites of mine, and I’m so excited to read anything and everything else that Alexandra writes!

More Confessions comes out August 17th!

I gave More Confessions of a Forty-Something F##k Up 5⭐️

Well what can I say another fantastic read, loved the story, loved revisiting the charecters took me a day and a half to read, a perfect summer beach read

Absolutely loved this book. Didn't think it could be as good as the first one but it is. So many things that happen to myself or friends are in the book.
Turn off your phone and dive into the pages. It proves we are all trying our best to muddle through and keep on going. No one is perfect and life definitely isn't.

I’ve been a fan of Alexandra Potter’s for years now but have absolutely loved her last few novels, including the first Confessions book and One Good Thing. I was thrilled when I heard a second Confessions book was written and delighted to be approved by NetGalley to read and review!

Nell is back, with Cricket by her side as ever, but also now Edward. And her friends. And her stepsons. And her boss at the newspaper. So if her life is going well, why has Nell got more confessions? Even when life appears to be going well, there’s always things to be grateful for as well as those sent to try us.

I devoured this book, keen to catch up with Nell post-pandemic and to see what she is up to. I now need to go back and watch the TV version of book one!

Thank you Alexandra and NetGalley for another engrossing, funny, endearing read. Highly recommend to any other 40 something f*** ups out there!

Ong omg omg i love this series. Everyone no matter what age you are needs to read this because it's true and we don't always feel like we have our shot together.

I absolutely love Nell and Cricket and their friendship is so damn precious. I also love all of Nell's friends that are all going through their own stuff but come together in a mad group and Edward too I really love their relationship it all felt real not like a Hollywood relationship but one with all the nitry gritty bits no one talks about.

5 stars and I will read anything Alexandra Potter writes.

Nell is back! This is the follow up to Confessions of a Forty-Something F##k Up and it seems like Nell finally has her life on track - she has the boyfriend, her own home, a steady job as a freelance obituary writer and the play she helped finish is finally going to be on stage in the West End.

More Confessions is set 18 months after the end of the first book and follows Nell's journey as she and the rest of the UK navigate the return to normal after Covid. Having spent a large amount of her time alone in her flat, she's looking forward to being able to get out and about again with her boyfriend, Edward, and her friends. Finally they can gather at each other's houses with no restrictions, they can go to the pub and enjoy a drink and they can even have weddings again!

Nell is all set to marry Edward when she discovers she still has the chance to have a baby should she decide to, but after realising her and Edward are not on the same page she decides she needs to explore this option further and her and Edward go their separate ways. Thankfully Nell has Cricket by her side to help her through as well as her friends, but they're each dealing with their own issues.

I really enjoyed this book and I felt like I can really connect with Nell as she tries to navigate life in her forties. I think we all feel like we're supposed to have everything together and life figured out and it's so easy to look at other people and think they have it all figured out when in reality we're all just ducks - smooth going on top and paddling furiously underneath!

Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this ARC!

Very enjoyable and entertaining book with the telling of life how it is with none of us achieving perfection or things turning out as we may have planned. Love the characters and 82 year Cricket is just wonderful. So many truths that most, if not all, of us have faced at least some during our lifetime. Brilliant and observational.

Having loved the first one I couldn’t wait to get stuck into this and it didn’t disappoint. It was just as funny and relatable as the first one and was great to catch up with how nell and her life was progressing since the first instalment and was like having a catch up with an old friend. I think we all also need a cricket in our lives she is such a remarkable and fun loving character

An amazing read which has you laughing and crying in equal measure and am sure the storyline will resonate with a lot of people and they will be able to emojis those with the rollercoaster of going through your forties and all the things that life throws at you.

After reading the first book of confessions and loving it, I couldn't wait to read the sequel and I wasn't disappointed, it was like catching up with old friends who you haven't seen for a while.
If you want a witty, funny, lighthearted read then look no further.
Highly recommended!

oh i was so happy to get this as a ARC i loved the first book, the author is a favourite of mine, this book did not disappoint, i sometimes feel a second book is not always good but this oh so good just like the first one, it had me laughing, crying and shouting, my kids thought i had lost the plot which i nearly did with this book, fantastic read, its a must read.

Life is definitely not a fairytale! I absolutely loved the first book and ‘more confessions’ was just as good… what I like about the writing is the raw and real life approach, as someone in her 40s this book resonates with me, relationships take work, nothing is as perfect as people make it out to be on social media and this confronts that!

With lots of humour and amazing characters, we all need a bestie like Cricket!! This book tackles some deep subjects and somehow can keep it lighthearted.

Recommended by me!! Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for the digital arc… 5 stars!!!!

Loved this follow -on book, packed full of humour, crazy japes and real true to life f--k ups!

You could read it as a standalone book, as the beginning does a great recap of book one, yet there's loads more new content to laugh at and enjoy.

It doesn't matter what she you are, you'll enjoy this life affirming book. I even noted down a couple of ideas to follow up in real life. Decorating certain boxes was a brill idea. Roll on book three

Oh my goodness how I loved this book. I adored the first one and didn't think the sequel could match it but it really does. More of all the fabulous characters plus some delightful new ones, this book is funny and moving in equal measure. Absolutely gorgeous. 5 stars and highly recommended by me.
With grateful thanks to NetGalley, Pan MacMillan and Alexandra Potter for my advance ebook in exchange for an honest review.
