Description

'A warm, smart, sexy, and absolutely charming debut' Colleen Hoover, It Ends With Us

'Think of it like Tinder. Except your parents are the algorithm, and both parties are looking for a life-long commitment.'

Meghna has tried everything when it comes to dating: blind dates, apps, attempting to drum up conversations with strangers at bars (ew). Everything except arranged marriage.

But then Seth, her best friend and the-one-who-got-away asks her to be his "best man" and suddenly her parent's taste doesn't seem so bad...

Which is how she meets the grumpy but handsome Karthik, who has seen enough of his parents' relationship to know marriage is not for him.

Turns out, Meghna and Karthik are a match made in heaven (if not the one their parents think they are making) - and a deal is struck. They will be fake-engaged for three months. That way Karthik will get out of the absurd number of arranged set-ups his mother has planned and Meghna will have a date to the wedding from her worst nightmares.

But what will happen when the wedding is over? And might they find that what they thought the other was faking could be real after all?

A cute romance between Meghna and Karhtik. They are absolutely made for each other and the banter between the two is perfect.

Fate dating/engagement perfection! Meghna and Karhtik are adorable and their character development was wonderful.. I loved reading about how their love blossomed, even if it took a few twists and turns to get there!

Just wow, don’t think I’ve read a book and gone through so many different emotions whilst going from chapter to chapter. They ranged from feeling intrigued, to excitement then to sadness and then excitement again to then feeling happy and then feeling confused to then finally get to happiness and excitement again. Such a lovely book about finding true love in unconventional way.

It was refreshing to read story written with the perspective of Indian arranged marriages. I loved the plot, the first meeting and the subsequent fake arrangement between Kaarthick and Meghna. I liked the supporting characters especially Meghna’s dad and Kaarrthicks mum.
I raced through the book, It was a very enjoyable read, even though you can guess the storyline, making the journey there made it a heartwarming read.

This is a cute heart warming story about an Indian couple in the USA who agree to an arranged/introduced marriage to keep their parents happy. There are ex-boyfriends, father issues, best friend betrayals and more. All the usual misunderstandings arise but it's all dealt with humour and charm. An easy and engaging read that I thoroughly enjoyed

Fake dating meets contemporary South Asian fiction in this desi romantic comedy. An impressive debut - congratulations.

I haven't even finished it yet but I love this book! I'm already thinking of people I'm going to recommend it to. The characters are lovable and the storyline balances the 'will they, won't they' storyline perfectly.

I can totally see this being turned into a film screenplay - sending that thought into the universe so that it happens.

It was great to see the new take in ‘introduced marriages’ described in a truly realistic way.
The characters of Karthik & Meghna had been devoted really well and were a joy to read and share in their story.
