Using his love of quantum physics, J L Robinson’s new ebook Parallel Heart explores the theories and ideas behind parallel worlds and the limitless possibilities they offer. Inspired by 90s television series Sliders, the story plays with reality and the imagination, constantly questioning the blurring line that separates them.

Robinson’s protagonist Jack Bickerton, a neurotic science teacher, is forced to decide whether or not to escape the reality of his dull existence. Also trapped in a marriage of convenience, his only means of escape be to elope dimensionally into a parallel universe, with a woman who may be but a figment of his imagination.

Parallel Heart has provided Robinson with a platform to experiment with his self-taught knowledge of physics and astronomy, and also to vent political frustrations that could not be quenched in general life. It is a thought-provoking story that challenges perception, thought processes and human behaviour.

“Parallel worlds as a premise should have been exploited more often, as it offers limitless possibilities. All in all, I like to create, and feel writing is the best-suited art form for me to do this in.” Robinson says on his reasons for writing this new ebook.

J L ROBINSON is a Leicester based Student Support worker who recently discovered a fascination for grammar over the last few years after writing musically and performing with various bands from the age of thirteen. He has no formal qualifications in physics and astronomy, but a passion for the subjects has led him to teach himself the theory behind them.
