Description
Life can be a tumultuous journey, filled with both heartache and joy. Since his teenage years, the actor Mem Ferda has poured his soul into crafting poetry, and now feels compelled to share these words with the world. Through these verses, he strives to awaken deep emotions, ignite inspiration, and spread positivity, all the while offering a glimpse into the tapestry of reality, as seen through his own introspection and experiences.
These poems are like kaleidoscopes, each revealing a unique pattern, open to interpretation based on one’s worldview, values, and principles. They emanate from the depths of the author’s being, bearing the weight of true-life encounters. As readers immerse themselves in these words, they will, hopefully, find solace and delight, just as he has found solace and delight in their creation. If these poems can elicit such a response, then they will have accomplished their purpose.

A volume of poetry by an acclaimed actor can often be a risk that one later regrets picking up...but fortunately that's not the case with this book. This is an interesting selection of poems, both serious and light-hearted; it's easy to escape into the pages and lose yourself for a while.

This is raw and hard hitting. The words make an impact and this i a talented author! Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the chance to read this book.
This collection of poetry reads like a memoir of the life of actor Mem Ferda. I wasn't too familiar with the actor when I received this book but after a quick Google search I realized I have seen some of his movies. Mem has been writing poetry since his teen years. The poems take us into his childhood, those coming of age years full of restlessness to his adult life and Hollywood career. He gives his thoughts, shares his grief and sorrow, as well as his joys. There are drawings along with the poems which I thought was a really nice touch. This was a heartfelt collection with raw emotions. I'm looking forward to reading more of his poetry.

Reading Mem Ferda's HAPPYAGONY is a unique experience in poetry. Reading each poem in succession takes you on a journey from childhood to adulthood, from traumatic events to more fun and joyous moments, from love to heartache, death to peace, war to reconciliation. One gets to really understand this Author's life and tribulations. It also provides us with an insight into this well-known Actor's life through poetry that you wouldn't otherwise be privy to. It is well worth a read.
I loved this book of poetry. Each poem is written with such emotion, allowing you to really look into the Author's soul. The book is conveniently divided into five chapters, which help you navigate through Mem's autobiographical journey. At times, the use of language is so powerful it grabs you and pulls you right in. There is sadness, humour, inspiration, and ambition in all 50 poems, each illustrated beautifully. I would highly recommend it to all poetry lovers.
