Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for this ARC.
This is the third book in the Skye Sisters Trilogy about Thea, Ezzie and Valentina. This book focuses on Valentina, 47. All three sisters are adopted which is a huge part of their stories.
After Valentina Taylor's husband Gary, 55, leaves her for her own assistant Minerva, 25, she takes son Barnaby, 7, and decamps to the Isle of Skye for the summer where she owns a little house called Overlook Cottage in Rothach, near Rothach Hall where her sisters work.
On the train she meets Xander Courage, 44, an American, and his nephew MacDonald, 17, who are heading the same way. Xander has a sister, Sherry, he adores, an ex, Crystal, who causes problems and a job he no longer cares about, so he's looking for peace and quiet - until he meets Valentina.
Most of the plot is taken up with Gary having a car accident and ending up in a coma, which brings his selfish and manipulative family out of the woodwork, causing problems for Valentina, plus her making inroads into finding out more about her birth mother and getting to know her half-brothers.
I'm sure you can read each book as a standalone but it's so much better to get the connections in each story because while it focuses on one sister, the other characters are always present too and their stories progress in the background.
This is a cracking read. Parts of it are predictable but there is so much to hold interest. Also, I've been to Skye and the scenery is just breathtaking. It's like taking a mini holiday in book form! I also like that the author tells us how to pronounce Gaelic words and names.
This book has it all - a summery landscape, fantastic storytelling with emphasis on family relationships and lots of emotions, a lovely slow-burn romance and a gorgeous cover. I couldn't put it down and I am sad it's the final book in the trilogy. Highly recommended.
4.5 stars

I’ve just finished reading this, the third book in the Skye series by Sue Moorcroft. It was a joy to read and linked in nicely with the previous two books. Each book covers the tale of one of three adopted sisters and all are set on the Isle of Skye. It is probably better to read them in order but each could be read as a standalone. It is always good to ‘meet’ characters from the previous books as you can catch up with their lives and gives a bit more insight into the main character in the current book. The story here involves the oldest sister and her son, her broken marriage and her finding her natural family. A feel good story with of course the obligatory happy ending. A book and a series well worth reading.

This is a third in the series but can read alone . I absolutely loved it. You follow the third sister Valentina with her family and life . Set in beautiful Skye and lovely descriptions .Valentina was a great mother and I loved that. The adoptive element was great and very well written. It was a clever story. Hard to explain but read it . Could not put it down .

This third book of the Skye series is absolutely wonderful. It is quite an emotional roller coaster, with some unexpected events, and I loved it from start to finish. I feel like I know the characters as friends, and it has definitely inspired me to take a trip to Skye. It could be read as a stand alone novel, but it’s probably better to read the books in order to get the most out of the complex relationships. I can’t recommend it highly enough and I wish there were more books to come in the series.

What a fantastic book this was to read. It helps if you’ve read the other two previous books to get the full context of some things mentioned but enough is given to let you get the gist. I liked that this book was predominantly featured Valentina, who’s normally been a minor character to her sisters. Some great storylines she was involved in and it made for a fantastic read. I loved the characters of Xander and MacDonald and great to hear more of Barnaby too. Definitely a book to be read!

This story centres on Valentina’s story - the oldest of the Wynter sisters. Her husband Gary has left her for her 25 year old assistant. She has taken redundancy from her job and has returned to her second home on Skye for the summer with her son, Barnaby.
On the way north she meets Xander and his nephew, MacDonald. MacDonald and Barnaby strike up a friendship over video games despite the ten year age gap and the adults are thrown together.
Valentina’s summer is changed drastically when Gary has an accident and ends up in a coma. She is torn between loyalty to her ex-husband and her new relationship. Added to this she meets her half-brother and has to decide how to deal with this new family.
Lovely to see the sisters moving on and making new relationships.
An enjoyable read.

I loved this story and the series so a whole. set on Skye the description of the surrounding areas made you want to be there and enjoy the local scenery and even the cold wild swims. Valentina's story was heart warming and sad at times with a few twists and turns which keeps the reader captivated. Beautifully written a story of second chances and love, friendship and family. A real page turner and another great story in this wonderful series.

This is the third story in the sky sisters trilogy and another brilliant read by Sue Moorcroft.
Valentina is the eldest of the three sisters and moves to Skye for the summer holidays with her son Barnaby to have a break and get over her break up from her husband. What is supposed to be a relaxing break turns out to be anything but with a shock accident and her adopted brother Dale getting in touch.
An excellent read which which shows the true meaning of family with a good dose of romance.
Thanks to NetGalley. Sue Moorcroft and Avon books UK for an advance copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

I have always loved Sue moorcrofts books and the Sky Sisters trilogy is no exception, Over the sea to Skye is the third book in the series and is valentinas story, Valentina is the eldest of the Wynter sisters, and the only one who hasn’t made contact with her biological family.
Valentina and her son Barnaby are spending the summer on Skye in their holiday cottage, hoping to enjoy some carefree happy family time after the break up of her marriage to Gary.
However the best laid plans are rudely disrupted by an American tourist and his nephew during the train journey to Skye followed by Valentinas ex having an accident and being unconscious in hospital!
The longed for happy family based summer is thrown into disarray as Valentina juggles single parenthood, an ill ex, contact from her biological family and a new relationship!
A wonderful setting, a very complicated family dynamic but an overall sense of love, belonging, second chances and new beginnings!
Would love another book of the Wynter sisters
Thank you NetGalley for this early read

Love the Skye books. Valentina has bought a cottage on Skye where her sisters live and work. She's taken her son Barnaby over there for the summer as shes separated from her husband . She meets American Xander and his nephew MacDonald but they don't get off to the best of starts.

Three and a half stars.
And so we come to Valentina, oldest of the three adopted Wynter sisters. Her husband Gary has left her, gallingly for Valentina's twenty-five year old assistant Miranda! Not only that, Gary and Miranda have changed their mobile numbers and persist in withholding the number when Gary calls Valentina so she has no way of getting in touch with him about their seven year old son Barnaby. Unable to face the sympathy of her colleagues, Valentina has taken voluntary redundancy and decided to spend the Summer at her holiday cottage on Skye whilst renting out the former marital home in Inverness.
On the train north, Valentina and Barnaby are sat opposite an American man Xander and his seventeen year old nephew Macdonald, they get talking, and when Zander's hire car is not ready for them when they reach Skye, Valentina offers to drive them to their accommodation. Despite the ten year age difference Barnaby and Macdonald hit it off immediately, bonding over video games. After a prickly start, Xander and Valentina also hit it off, but can it be anything more than a Summer romance when Xander needs to return to his job in Pittsburg after his sabbatical?
This was pleasant enough, throw in unreasonable in-laws, a recalcitrant teen, an ex who's 'found her voice' and a tragic accident and you have all the ingredients for a cosy romance. I enjoyed it, but I felt it dragged a bit towards the end and then finished abruptly.
I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley.

I was delighted to receive an early copy of this book. I have enjoyed the other books in this series and it was like putting on a comfy cardigan and slippers catching up with the sisters and the goings on in their lives. Endearing and set in glorious surroundings, this is a must read.

A sweet story of two people who find themselves meeting on a train the Skye where they are headed for the summer. Themes of family, including adopted and birth family, abound. I enjoyed the love story as well as the tour of Skye.

A really lovely story to complete the trilogy. Very different to the other two books however with a similar theme in places. I felt the ending was somewhat rushed and didn’t hold together as well as the other books but on the whole a really interesting read. If nothing else it really makes you want to go and explore the Isle of Skye
Thank you to the author, publishers and Netgalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review

Free courtesy of Netgalley. The third book in this trilogy was as amazing as the first two. My only complaint is I don't think I am ready to say goodbye to the wynter sisters as there is so much more of their lives to explore ❤️
This book's main focus is on Valentina and her Son Barnaby. After the breakdown of her marriage, Valentina is set on spending the summer on the Isle of Skye. On the train she meets an American tourist and his nephew, who seems to be in a bit of a mess, as his wallet had just been stolen in the train station. As they are all heading to Skye, Valentina helps him out.
Once on the island, everything starts to go wrong for Valentina and she definitely doesn't end up with the nice peaceful summer she was hoping for.
Exploring the themes of Adoption, family and broken marriages and the responsibility of parenting afterwards, this is again another beautifully told story.
I would definitely encourage others to read this book (and the first two, if you haven't already). You can read this one as a standalone but as you encounter the first two sisters outcomes, it will give things away. I loved this book but I am biased as Sue is one of my favourite authors.
*Please can we have another book about the Wynter sisters?? 🙏

It's the final book of the Skye Sisters Trilogy and this time the story is focused on the oldest sister, Valentina. Her seemingly great life blew up after her husband Gary had an affair and left her for the OW. She and her son, Barnaby, at least has the summer to look forward in the cottage that she bought in Skye and can spend time with her sisters and their families.
On the way there, she has an encounter with two American tourists, Xander and his nephew, MacDonald. Although older, MacDonald and Barnaby end up striking up a friendship. We see how that friendship ends up allowing Valentina and Xander to spend time together, and eventually leads to them developing feeling for each other. However, both have huge family issues jump out at them and makes continuing very difficult.
The book as with the previous two, again deals with the issue of adoption and birth families, and how it affects adult adoptees even in later life. Another very important storyline in the book deals with what's the responsibility of an estranged spouse if the other person has very serious medical issues. This, in particular, was dealt with in such a compassionate and realistic way that I really enjoyed.
We also get see see Thea and Dev become parents to an adorable little one and how Ezzie and Mats have adjusted to their new normal which was lovely. After a few difficult issues, I was glad to see Valentina and Xander get their HEA . As always, the descriptions of Skye makes the reader really feel like they could be there.
Thanks to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for the early copy.

The final part of the trilogy. 3 adopted sisters, the eldest, Valentina, escapes to the Isle of Skye following her marriage break-up and her voluntary resignation . Escapes to her little cottage and the love of her 2 sisters and their families . Hard to put down to discover what happens in her life to bring back happiness .

The final part of the Skye Sisters trilogy focuses on Valentina, the eldest of the three adopted sisters, as she copes with a selfish ex husband and her new life as a single mum. American tourist Xander is an appealing love interest and, as in the two previous books in the series, Sue deals with the emotional challenges of meeting your birth family well. The descriptions of Skye brought the island alive to me again, and I enjoyed the glimpses of Valentina’s younger sisters and their families. Overall a well written story with some twists and turns to keep you turning the pages. Although it’s the third in the series, you could read it as a stand alone novel but you’ll get the most from it if you read the previous two books first.

I was excited to receive this third book in the Skye sisters trilogy as I’d really enjoyed the first two. This third instalment did not disappoint. Another really warm read about Valentina this time, the eldest of the sisters who is adjusting to life after separation in her new holiday home. It’s a beautiful setting, the bond between the sisters is well written and the story kept me engaged.

"Over the Sea to Skye" is the concluding novel in Sue Moorcroft's wonderful Wynter sisters trilogy. It's sad to think that this is the last we will read about them and the wonderful island where they have chosen to live.
This book focuses on the oldest sister Valentina in the aftermath of the breakdown of her marriage. She is the last of the sisters to complete her DNA test and follow up on the results. Meanwhile Thea has her baby, and Ezzie continues to manage her partner's "holiday home" as a a visitor attraction. Of course, there is also some romance and plenty of wonderful descriptions of the Isle of Skye.
Thanks to Net Galley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I have really loved this trilogy about three adopted sisters living on the Isle of Skye. Each book is about one of the sister’s life story. They have all been fabulous reads and this final instalment has been a wonderful conclusion. I am a great fan of Sue’s books. I highly recommend you read this series you won’t be disappointed.

Another great book in this series, bringing an emotional journey along the way as we get to know Valentina in more detail but still not forgetting her sisters and their own stories.

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. I really enjoy Sue Moorcroft's books, and I particularly loved this one. Although I read the first in the Skye Sisters trilogy, I don't particularly remember it (not a reflection of the book by any means, just my poor story retention), the second unfortunately passed me by. While I feel I missed out on some of the backstory having not read the second, it did not hinder my enjoyment of this one. Moorcroft completely brings you into her characters' worlds, and I was engaged through out. A lovely read.

Book Review: Over the Sea to Skye by Sue Moorcroft
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
Sue Moorcroft once again crafts a beautifully emotional and uplifting tale with Over the Sea to Skye, the third installment in the Skye Sisters Trilogy. Set against the breathtaking scenery of the Isle of Skye, this book is a soulful blend of escapism, romance, and the power of starting over.
Valentina Taylor, reeling from the fallout of a broken marriage, seeks solace on Skye with her adorable young son, Barnaby. What starts as a summer retreat slowly turns into a journey of rediscovery—of love, self-worth, and the kind of peace that only a windswept shore and crashing waves can bring. Enter Xander Courage, the charming American with a heart full of secrets and just enough emotional baggage to match Valentina’s. Their chance meeting on a train is pure romantic fate, and their undeniable chemistry brings warmth to even the stormiest chapters.
The novel perfectly captures the magic of Skye—its wild beauty, close-knit community, and calming rhythm—while delivering a story rich in heart and emotional complexity. Moorcroft explores themes of motherhood, healing, and found family with a light but meaningful touch. Valentina’s relationships with her sisters, Thea and Ezzie, offer moments of laughter and tenderness, grounding the romance in a deep, familial core.
Verdict: Over the Sea to Skye is a stunning conclusion to a beloved trilogy, perfect for fans of second chances, windswept romances, and strong women finding their way. It’s an ideal summer read that will leave your heart full and your suitcase metaphorically packed for the Scottish coast.

The third book in the trilogy and a thoroughly enjoyable read. Delivered with the heartwarming and emotional goings on in the family dynamics of the Wynter sisters. I do really enjoy Skye and the surrounding area settings and it really sets the tone for a lovely afternoon read. I read feeling like I wish I was there too!
There's always so much going on without being too heavy and weighted, with the continued themes of adoption and family throughout as with the previous two books for Ezzie and Thea's characters too. I really like the realistic approach and viewpoint of Valentina with her situation.
Plus, my own hometown was mentioned which is always a nice little bonus!!
Book number three in a series, but could be read as a standalone- however catching up with everyone and watching their stories and lives develop and entwine together is something I would definitely recommend

This book is the third in the trilogy about sisters Thea, Ezzie and Valentina, set on the Isle of Skye. This is Valentina's story, and it does work as a standalone, however I would suggest they are read in order due to ongoing story elements that flow throughout the books.
Valentina and young son Barney head to Skye for the summer after the break up of Valentina's marriage, meeting American Xander and his nephew Macdonald on the journey. The book follows the story of Valentina's summer, with familial mishaps and new found friendships occurring along the way. I loved revisiting Skye and old favourite characters, it was comforting to read more about them. This was probably however my least favourite of the three books in the series, it felt drawn out at times with an abrupt ending, however it was well written and I cannot wait to see what Sue Moorcroft writes next.

This is the third book in a trilogy, all of which are excellent reads. It is helpful to read the other two books first to get the full pleasure from how each of the three sisters develop in their lives. This book focuses on Valentina, the oldest of the three adopted sisters and how her life continues after her husband leaves her for her assistant, who is half her age. The book takes a good look at the nature on Skye, the weather, the beach and what life is like on a calm island. This is a great backdrop to Valentina finding who she is as a single mum to Barnaby and exploring what her life means to her now.

this is the last in the series where we have been following the lives of three sisters. and i tell you what i was just done to perfection. i have loved all of these books. infact scrap that because its Sue Moorcroft and i have loved EVERY single one of all the books of hers ive read. like many of my favorite authors of this genre i could just feel my heart beating harder, cozier and warmer as i read this. i could sit and read them all day. or maybe its because i want to be adopted by the place and people in these books. or at least know them? go stay with them? come on surely one of the characters wants to invite me over for the summer too?
alas it looks like i will simply hav to love the book and wait for Sues next when. and love every minute of the time i spend in this community while i can.
in this book we are back in Skye. with the summer season bringing new sight and smells and descriptions that perfectly bring back what i remember of the island. this book we look to Valentina. but what i also love about this book is how just because the main focus is on her story, the others never fade and are still as important. it feels real and makes a bigger connection to all three of them and their tales.
Valentina is not doing ok. her marriage has collapsed and so she flees to the island of skye with her young boy to be with her sisters.
but Valentina isnt going to be given an easy ride. and when another event happens she has to face even more challenging times. not only that but a seemingly chance meeting on the train leaves her with all sorts of unexpected and what she deems unwanted at this time!
i loved just how real Valentina and her emotions at this time were. the relationship with her young son was fantastic and i could relate so much to his little feelings and interactions which were often confused and heightened by what was going on for his mum and dad. how Valentina handled this was not always perfect but felt full of love all the same. it was a woman doing the best she can and not always making wise choices or behaving rationally at such an emotionally impacted time.
oh add to that there might be a brother on the horizon? being adopted this brings a whole other level of emotional strife to our sister. and shes going to need her sisters and the island all the way. which of course she has whole heartedly. and this is actually the biggest story of love throughout all the books. ive been rooting for them all from the beginning. and im only sad now thinking this is the end? no! do we not need to go back and learn something more? cant we come back to them please? you see this is the problem with brilliant writers and brilliant books. you never really want them to leave or end.
the relationships are all so beautifully told. not only with eachother but how interwoven they are with the island, with the scenes set you can imagine the landscape and island around them.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for this ARC.
I have read many Sue Moorcroft books, I love her Christmas books. I have read the two preceding books in this trio logo and loved them both….
I thought this was an easy read, and it was good but it felt too predictable from the start. And although the other characters had had their own stair idea previously there wasn’t much about them at all in this book.

Oh what can I say about this one? I absolutely hand on heart love this series.
It’s a delightful, heartwarming and beautiful tale.
The scenery is gorgeous and written in such as way that you can hear the waves and feel the wind in your hair.
In this one, we centre our attention on Valentina, the eldest of the Wynter sisters and her whirlwind summer on Skye. What a rollercoaster of events and emotions she goes through.
I know I’ve said this before, in my review for book 2, but I love how even though the main focus shifts to a different sister, the others are still key to the story. They don’t just have small supporting roles, we follow their lives as significant events happen for them too.
The characters are all so well developed throughout, but in this book I especially loved how the relationship between Valentina and Barnaby was portrayed. Having a similar aged son myself I could totally relate to her, how she spoke to him and dealt with various situations.
This book felt so much like you were looking in on real life for this extended family. All the things they faced, day to day situations that occurred, all felt very real.
All in all it’s an absolute must read. Do read the whole series to fully appreciate this masterpiece.

This is the third book in the Skye Sisters trilogy and a book that I have been impatiently waiting for. Over the Sea to Skye is Valentina’s story. The oldest of three adopted sisters, she has always been the sensible one. However, her apparently happy marriage has collapsed and she has escaped to the Island of Skye with her young son to spend time with her sisters and work out what to do next.
It was so good to return to Skye and the Wynter sisters. This book takes place about 6 months after the previous book and it’s now Summer. Valentina has bought a cottage on the seafront and is looking forward to some peace and quiet family time to recover from her marriage break up. Sadly, the Summer is anything but peaceful. Her husband is involved in a serious accident and she is also contacted out of the blue by a man who claims to be her brother. Plus there is also an attractive American who is on the island for the Summer and who is definitely a threat to her peace of mind.
I really like the character of Valentina. She has always been the successful sister with a happy marriage, lovely son and a successful career but now her life has fallen to pieces around her and all she has left is her son Barney and two sisters. The fall out from a broken marriage when one parent walks out is well illustrated here with Barney’s distress at the lack of contact with his father clearly shown. Valentina deals with everything that the Summer throws at her and only occasionally gives into frustration and anger. She even stays calm in the face of rude behaviour from her in-laws which was definitely more than they deserved. She isn’t perfect though and the stress of her situation makes her handle some situations less well than she normally would.
As with all of Sue Moorcroft’s books, all of the character are well written. It was lovely to catch up with Thea and Ezzie again and I loved Xander and MacDonald. The Island of Skye also plays a starring role in the novel and the beautiful scenery is vividly described.
Sue Moorcroft has a real gift for capturing the messiness of modern family life. In this book, we see the fall out from a broken marriage and how families gradually work their way through to a workable situation, as well as what might happen when a member of your birth family gets in touch unexpectedly. Through this series though, the bond between the three sisters has remained unbroken and the love between them feels more real than any romance.
The Skye Sisters is a lovely set of three linked novels and this final instalment was a brilliant read. Thank you to Net Galley and the publishers, Avon Books, for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Sadly the final part of this lovely series featuring the Wynter sisters.
We're back on the gorgeous Isle of Skye, Valentina's renovation work on her cottage is finished and she arrives with her son Barnaby for the summer. Her husband Gary has left her, annoyingly for her assistant Minerva.
On their way she assists an American who is travelling with his nephew, not staying far away they begin a holiday friendship. It's comfort for then both as they begin new lives as single people. But when Gary is involved in an accident she finds her life changing as she has to decide what takes priority.
I've adored this series, the sisters all have their own characters, as the oldest, Valentina was always the stoic, pragmatic one so it was nice to see her more vulnerable side.
Despite this being Valentina's story it was lovely to recap with Thea and Ezz as well.
The description of Skye is fitting and evocative.

A lovely finale to the story of the Wynter sisters and the beautiful Isle of Skye. This one is eldest sister Valentina's story, as she deals with abandonment by her errant husband, a young son missing his dad, the aftermath of a tragic accident and the possibility of finding her blood family just as her sisters have done. And there is romance too, of course, but with Xander living thousands of miles away it looks like it may all be over before it has really begun. A heartwarming and satisfying trilogy of novels with three strong women and an island community at its heart.
.

This is the final book in the trilogy and I was very sad that this is the last instalment of this beautiful series but like all good things they just come to an end.
This instalment focused on us getting to know the backstory of Valentina the eldest of the sisters who until now we have only had a snapshot look into her life.
This was another beautiful read filled with engaging characters and relatable topics. and also the beautiful descriptions of the Isle of Skye which is definitely a place I would love to visit one day.
Look forward to seeing what this author writes next.

Enjoyable light read and the final in the series featuring three sisters, Valentina, Ezz and Thea. This book follows Valentina's story and, whilst it would help, I think it stands alone. The sisters were all adopted and searching for their very different birth families. Set in Scotland on the stunning Isle of Skye and Inverness. Very believable including DNA testing and the turmoil of the ensuring results. Heartwarming but also light reading despite the more serious issues.

Marlowe heads to the Isle of Skye with her young son for the summer. she meets a man on the train on her way and they keep bumping into each other on the Isle of Skye.

Loved this third in the Skye trilogy from Sue Moorcroft. This time we follow Valentine's story, although there are plenty of glimpses of the other sisters. The book tackles the complexity of new starts, and looks at adoption and the tracing of birth parents. Food for thought as well as being a brilliant story.

I've been eagerly anticipating book three in the series - the little bits we've learnt about Valentina in the previous two books have made her story sound intriguing.
Valentina, the eldest of the Wynter sisters, appeared to have her life sorted, until she discovered that her husband Gary was cheating on her with her own assistant. This led to her putting in for redundancy after feeling embarrassed at this playing out at work.
This meant that she and her young son Barnaby were able to spend the summer at their holiday home in Skye, close to Thea and Ezzie, Valentina's (adopted) sisters. On the way to Skye, they run into two American tourists, Xander and his nephew MacDonald, who are also spending the summer in Skye.
As Barnaby and MacDonald forge a friendship, Valentina ends up spending a lot of her summer with Xander. However, despite wanting more, she's aware that all of them are going to leave the island at the end of summer, and that nothing can come from it. Add in complications with her ex husband, discovering her birth brothers, and one turning up in Skye unexpectedly, and Valentina's relaxing summer ends up not so relaxing!
This was the perfect summer book - Skye is so beautiful and the descriptions of it throughout the book transport you there. On a personal note, I also loved seeing my hometown mentioned in a book, the first time that's ever happened!!
Sue's books are so lovely, with engaging characters. I loved this - I'm a bit sad this series has come to an end, but am looking forward to seeing what's next!

It's time for Valentina, the happily-married, sensible, mother-of-one, eldest sister to shine in this final book in the trilogy of the Wynter sisters. With younger sisters, Ezzie and Thea, settling into solid relationships, Valentina should be able to relax. But this story opens with her own marriage in tatters and she escapes to her holiday home on Skye to spend summer with her young son Barnaby and her two sisters. En route, she meets Xander, a charming middle-age American and his teenage nephew Macdonald, who are also spending summer on Skye. Their attraction is mutual - but Valentina's life is about to get more a lot more complicated. Can she really make room for romance?
You can always rely on Sue Morrcroft to put plenty meat on to her romantic stories, and this one is no exception. Themes of divorce, single parenthood and adoption keep this story firmly family focused, and there is plenty going on to keep the reader turning the pages.
The romance is sizzling! Xander is the perfect hero - he has problems of his own, and he does not always get thngs right, but he is just what Valentina needs, and I was rooting for him all the way.
Valentina is a very sympathetic heroine, often conflicted, but always ready to step up and do the right thing by her family - though usually at her own expense. It's great to see her character develop as the story unfolds. Will she finally put herself first? She has a lot to work through before she can do that.
Can't leave this review without mentioning the beauties of Skye, which Sue Moorcroft describes with passion and poetry. She obviously loves this Scottish island as much as the Wynter sisters do.
I'd recommend a visit through all three books, and then in person. It's a lovely place, and if I met people like Valentina, Ezzie and Thea there, I'm sure they'd soon be my friends.

A beautiful story. Set on the Beautiful Isle of skye where Valentena takes her son Barnaby for the summer after the breakdown of her marriage to Gary where she reunites with her sisters and the wider family, but when she meets the charismatic Xander and she receives bad news regarding Gary things get complicated.. Another fantastic read in this series of books and it's a really fantastic read

Book 3 in the Skye Sisters Trilogy!
What an absolute treat to return to the Isle of Skye for Valentina's story and boy did Sue Moorcroft put her through the wringer! Cheating, vile in laws, an accident, an overwhelming half brother all wrapped up with the introduction of Xander and Mcdonald and of course a good catch up with Ezz and Thea.
As always so beautifully written and has you rooting for these sisters till the very end.
I now feel complete!
Another smashing, heart warming read from the very talented Sue Moorcroft, she definitely knows how to captivate a reader and fill your heart with joy!

This is the third book in the Skye series, and like the previous books, an excellent read. It can be read as a standalone book, but the whole series features wonderful stories, and recommended.
Valentina’s ex-husband Gary is having an affair with her assistant, and she decides to escape, taking her son Barnaby with her to a cottage she owns on the Isle of Skye. While on the journey she gives assistance to Xander and his nephew, and the children become friends.
Valentine’s adopted sisters Thea and Ezzie, also feature in the book, and the story is about their relationship, and Valentine’s developing romance with Xander. Skye’s rugged coastline and surrounding areas are beautifully described, making you feel like you’re there.
The book explores how families evolve, with blended families and children who have been adopted – their successes and concerns. The adopted three girls have been brought up together with wonderful parents, and discoveries about their biological parents are sensitively described by the author.
I became totally engrossed in the book, and couldn’t put it down. A real page turner.

This is the third book in the trilogy of the Skye Sisters. After reading this it can be read as a stand alone book but you will enjoy the story better if you read from book one.
This book is mostly about Valentina, the oldest sister and the first one to be adopt by the couple who were adopted parents to all three of them. Valentina is the only one who hasn't looked for her birth parents after having a DNA test done on an online site. The other two women have been successful with a happy outcome.
Velentina is travelling to her cottage in Skye with her son of 7yrs Barnaby. On the train she meets an American man,Zander who has just been mugged,he is also travelling to Skye with his 17yr old nephew McDonald.
Barnaby and McDonald strike up a friendship which means Valentina has to strike up a conversation with his uncle even when she doesn't feel like talking.
I can't say any more about this story as it would spoil it. I'm disappointed this is the end of the road for these books as I could just go on and on reading them.
I have loved this trilogy and this final book was just as good as the others.

When you are reading a series it should be like returning to old friends and this series definitely is, I'm sorry to see the end of it. The connection between the 3 Wynter sisters is stronger than ever and hopefully by the end of this story they will all be in a happy place, together.

The finale of the Skye sisters trilogy telling the story of Valentina , the eldest of the adopted trio . It emphasises the bond of families while venturing into the realms of relationships , adoption , parenting bringing together in an immersive experience for the reader

Eloquently written in Sue’s engaging style this is the final of the Skye sisters’ trilogy. I love this series about the three Wynters sisters. This is Valentina’s story and is just as heartwarming and engrossing as the other two books. I love the gorgeous setting which Sue describes so well, the cast of characters so realistically crafted and the way we get drawn into Valentina’s story and her dilemma. Sue skilfully portrays the issue of adoption and meeting your birth family, and dealing with a separation/divorce when your ex is injured. So lovely to catch a glimpse of the other two sisters’ lives too. I’m sad to say goodbye to this series.

This is the last book in the Skye Sisters series, and it was just as enjoyable as the other two. An easy read set on the Isle of Skye, this book tells of the third Wynter sister, Valentina. Having recently had her husband leave her for her much younger assistant, she takes redundancy from her job and heads up to the Isle of Skye with her young son Barnaby to be near her sisters and to regroup.
I love the characters in these stories, they are well developed and relatable. Valentina is the eldest of the sisters and very capable. Despite the recent disruption of her life and the betrayal by her husband, she always steps up to do the right thing. I liked Xander Courage and his nephew MacDonald, the American who she meets on the train up to Skye.
This is a nice, easy read, perfect for the summer. It could be read as a standalone but it is better to read them in order to really get to know the Wynter sisters.

I had so been looking forward to the third and final book in Sue Moorcroft’s Skye trilogy and I definitely wasn’t disappointed! It is the oldest sister Valentina’s story and since I’d read snippets about her life in the other two books I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen to her. I already knew I disliked her husband who was having a mid-life crisis and making everything so much more difficult than it had to be. And I really felt Valentina deserved something much better. Enter American Xander - happy sigh! From the moment they met their chemistry was undeniable and I was rooting for them to get together. Of course things are never that easy and the author puts them through the wringer but the resulting story was incredibly satisfying and heart-warming and I loved it! This amazing family of adopted daughters and their partners and children will stay with me for a long time. If you haven’t started on this series yet I highly recommend it!

This is the third book in the series which follows the Wynter sisters. It was wonderful to be back in Skye catching up with the characters from the previous books but, if you haven't read these don't worry as it can very much be read a s a stand alone story. This story's focus is Valentina who has recently separated from her husband (Gary) who has run off with her very young assistant making home and work awkward. Deciding to take voluntary redundancy she is going to spend the summer with her son near her sisters.
Wanting to get away from everything and recharge her batteries before she starts the next stage of her life she knows her recently beautifully renovated holiday cottage will provide the escape and family support she needs.
However, as we know things never go to plan and a blast from the past, an American tourist and a few other surprises make this summer quite a rollercoaster and definitely one she won't forget.
Beautifully written, in a stunning location with heart warming characters - a perfect summer read and definitely one i would recommend as a holiday read to my friends.

What a fantastic book to finish this trilogy.
I love all the characters and the setting is amazing. I need to visit the Isle of Skye. Thank you Sue Moorcroft for providing us pure escapism reads.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC in return for an honest review.

Who doesn’t love a book about this family? It’s like visiting old friends and just falling back into place as if you’ve never been apart! I really loved this story, the writing is so good, and the descriptions really help you feel like you’re actually there. Valentina much deserves her happy ending, and I loved Xander’s story. I think my favourite part though is the friendship between MacDonald and Barnaby, so sweet!
Go and read this book, it feels like holidays, sitting on the beach with a cocktail and loving life!

Reading this book was like sinking into the embrace of a well-worn armchair, the kind that knows your shape and welcomes you back every time. It’s like walking into a room full of people you know well, but haven’t seen for a while, and your heart sings. This is a gorgeous series and I’m sad it’s just a trilogy.
When Valentina’s husband left her, for her assistant – a good 20 years younger than him, Valentina was devastated – not least for her seven-year-old son Barnaby who missed his Dad when he disappeared without trace. Valentina took Barnaby to her summer cottage on the Isle of Skye to be near her two sisters and for some morale support. When her husband finally gets in touch and wants to meet up, he doesn’t turn up. What has happened? Added to that Valentina plays good Samaritan to Xander and his nephew McDonald at the station when they are stranded, and gives them a lift. From then on Valentina and Xander’s paths seem to intersect fairly often – which helps Barnaby and McDonald as they keep each other amused despite the disparity in their ages.
A gorgeous story, well told, and it was wonderful to revisit so many ‘old friends’.

Valentina is heading back to Skye with her son Barnaby after the break up of her marriage. She meets Zander on the train with his nephew who her son takes a shine to they are both heading to Skye as well trying to piece together their own family history.
Skye offers Valentina a great healing place as she starts to feel much more like herself along with her two sisters she bumping along nicely so she dosnt need Zander Courage to mix things up. Can she let go of her past to forge a future.
Great to catch up with the sisters and be back in Skye. Loving this series brilliant.
