Description
'A brilliant, twisty thriller . . . I was gripped!' – Peter James
*****
THE TRIP OF A LIFETIME?
When five strangers are chosen for an all-expenses-paid stay at an exclusive retreat, they leap at the chance to rest and get away from it all amidst the lush Costa Rican rainforest.
OR THE HOLIDAY FROM HELL?
Their famous host is nowhere to be seen when they arrive. Confused, but eager to immerse themselves in this once-in-a-lifetime experience, they head into the wilderness in search of a rejuvenating waterfall – but when calamity strikes, panic sets in and they are plunged into a battle for survival.
Lost under the dense canopies with darkness closing in, they soon realise they cannot trust the beauty of their surroundings – or each other . . .
The Hideaway by Nikki Allen is a pulse-pounding, twisty destination thriller, perfect for fans of Nine Perfect Strangers and The White Lotus as well as readers of Lucy Clarke.

Destination Thriller..
An influencer competition for a week long stay in a luxury hideaway retreat in Costa Rica brings five winners to the rain forests of Costa Rica with promises that they will leave transformed. On arrival their host is nowhere to be seen - befuddled but not deterred the group settle in but this beginning is to be the least of their worries as time goes on for biting is quite as it seems. Suspenseful and immersive with a propulsive plot and a constant underlying vein of menace - this destination thriller is as compelling as it is a stark commentary of influencer culture - with a cast of well drawn and credible characters and a well imagined, lush setting.

I loved this read. It is pulsatingly good.
5 strangers are winners of a competiton and head to a balmy hideaway for rest and relaxation.......
Of course it isn;t as it first seems and soon we realise that they are there for a different reason..
No spoilers from me but this is a great read and a perfect holiday novel.

First things first, thank you Netgalley and Pan Macmillan for this ARC!
This book had so many things drawing me in - the blurb, the cover, the setting. In summer, I do love reading destination thrillers, just like in winter, I love snowy settings. Not to mention, it makes me feel like I can be in places I can never travel to in real life. Like the Costa Rican rainforest, in this case.
So yes, I did accept the challenge of the different POVs - we do have our five winners Carly, Mira, Naya, Scott and Ben,and their host, Hannah - because I really wanted to read this book. And I did not regret it! It was gripping from the start, with a lot of twists and tensions. A very great debut book, very much recommended!

Wow! What a atmospheric and breathtaking novel! I really felt like I was one of the people trapped and fighting for their lives out there in the wilderness. I can’t wait to read this author‘s next novel. If I could give it more than five stars I would.
