Description
#1 New York Times bestselling author Tessa Bailey is back with an all-new enemies-to-lovers, fake-dating sports romance about a playboy hockey rookie and the disciplined softball pitcher completely immune to his charms.
Boston Bearcats rookie Robbie Corrigan is living the dream. He’s made it to the NHL, his best friend/teammate and fellow “orgasm donor” is his roomie—and the women of Boston love them both. Life is sweet. That is, until he meets Skylar Paige, division 1 softball pitcher, girl least likely to take anyone’s bull…and the one member of the opposite sex immune to his charms. Robbie might be dazzled by the badass pitcher, but Skylar pegs him as a filthy player and wants nothing to do with him.
When he discovers she’s carrying a serious torch for her brother’s best friend, Robbie knows he should just go back to clubbing and whipped cream bikini parties, but he can’t seem to leave Skylar to flounder on her romantic quest to land another man. Nor can he miss out on the opportunity to spend time with her and hopefully redeem himself. Before Robbie knows it, he’s agreed to be Skylar’s fake boyfriend/love coach at an upcoming family wilderness competition where her crush will be in attendance. What could go wrong?
Through a series of contests that require them to trust each other, Robbie and Skylar grow closer and closer until their fake relationship starts to feel like the realest thing they’ve ever known and the sizzling lessons in sensuality burn out of control.
But it’s all just pretend…right?

I think this might be my favourite in the Big Shots series - and I never thought I’d be saying that about one of the sperm donors, but here we are.
Robbie Corrigan is the biggest red bearded teddy bear and watching him fall for Skylar was a joy to read.
Tessa Bailey brought a whole load of fantastic characters, a weird family hunger games style competition, a guy who would literally do anything for his girl and her usual spice! It’s a wonderful combination and a delightful read from start to finish.
I’m as shocked as TB that Robbie and Mailer have depth - but I am here for it! Can’t wait to see what she has in store for Mailer.
Huge thanks to Avon for the ARC.

Super easy to read, I demolished this in one sitting. Characters that you can’t help empathise with because they seem so genuine and effortlessly constructed. It just felt like the perfect holiday read to escape to a sports romance that felt like it was ‘more’

This was such a fun read. A perfect holiday book and as always, the smut was to D I E for.
I adored Robbie Corrigan. He was sensitive, addictive, funny and so much more. I just fell in love with the character he was perceived to be. He put others before himself and he was just so genuine.
Then we have Skylar Paige, a softball pitcher and someone who is in love with her brother’s best friend so wants a fake boyfriend. In come sexy, handsome Robbie. And the rest is history.
I can’t put into words how great this book was to read. We have a lot of tropes I am loving; fake dating, opposites attract and a beautiful golden retriever who’s absolutely obsessed with her.
It was funny… hilarious at times. Robbie and Skylars banter was through the roof. I laughed so hard. And do you know what I loved most about this book? It was the family competing against each other and how Robbie ends it right there and then for Skylars sake. He makes her and her family SEE her for who she is. The hard working, beautiful, smart woman that she is. Ugh. Just give it to me!
Another marvellous read from Tessa Bailey with TB spice. It was the perfect read. A huge thanks to @harper360uk and @tessabaileyisanauthor for allowing me access to this arc via @netgalleyuk.

Pitcher Perfect was so much fun! Robbie, who was a goofball when we met him in the previous books, meets his one in Pitcher Perfect and falls hard and fast.
Robbie's character arc is one of the things that works really well in this story. He mends his playboy ways, and grows from that guy, to someone who shows up for Skylar constantly, supports her, and works on himself to be a better person.
Skylar is pretty great too - she does not shy away from telling Robbie what she thinks of him, kinda mean sometimes, which Robbie absolutely loves!
I enjoyed every moment of this story: the forced proximity when they fake date, the way Robbie is honest and genuine about his feelings, the way Skylar brings out the best in him, and the undeniable chemistry between the two.
Great moments with the main characters of the previous books too! I have loved every book in this series (read them all for the first time this month, too!), and I look forward to more!

Book 4 in the BIG SHOTS series and I am so in love with Robbie and Skylar. This book was so much fun and I can confidently say it is my favourite in the series so far.

The story in emojis: ⚾️🏒🌶️
3 things about this book:
•Sports Romance
•Spicy scenes
•Big Shots series
ℝ𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Pitcher Perfect is the fourth book of the Big Shots series - but I read as a stand-alone.
I really liked this book from the very beginning - how can you not after her first words to him! As with all Tessa Bailey’s books, there is plenty of spice!
This book has some of my favourite romance tropes including “fake relationship” and “he falls first”.
I loved the dynamic between Skylar and Robbie, they were perfect for this story - and it was great to have both characters as athletes in a sports romance.

Thank you Netgalley and Harper360 -
Two teams, both alike in dignity,
In fair Boston, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break to new relations,
Where civil fake dating makes civil hearts lean.
This book was so friggin’ sweet. First of all, Tessa Bailey’s writing was a dream. My highlighted quotes have imprinted on my brain:
‘As she stood there preparing to two, his unwavering gaze slowly started to calm the choppy ocean surface inside her. His lips weren’t moving, but somehow, she could hear him, feel him on every side of her, his presence a reassurance.’
This book reminded me of 'Get a Life, Chloe Brown' with the banter and relationship dynamics between Skylar and Robbie, as well as Skylar’s spicy plans. Everything about the two complemented the other, and made for a swoon-worthy read.
I also adored the confrontation of male emotions being suppressed, and how the third act conflict was completely valid on both characters' ends (i.e. no miscommunication, they talked through their feelings like actual adults and did what they had to do to find their ways back to each other). Both characters taught each other so much and it made for both gorgeous character arcs and a well-rounded, satisfying ending. (Many tears were shed.)

I have to say, this was just my cup of tea. I love a sports romance and fake dating so devoured this in a day. I love the sexual tension in the book, the humour and the sweetness of their relationship. This was a funny, sexy and heart warming read. If you like the other books by Tessa Bailey, this won't disappoint
Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchanged for an honest review.

Oh this was a great read. I loved the chemistry between Redbeard and Rocket!
Two athletes at the top of their game, so perfectly suited to each other, it's a wonder they can't see it for themselves. Robbie is adorable as he comes to realise that his past does not define who he really he is but he's going to have to work hard to get past Skylar's defences and convince her that he's serious especially when she's in love with her brother's best friend.
When Robbie peruades her into a fake dating scheme, to help her save face in her family's ridiculous annual contest, it offers him the perfect opportunity to show his true colours. Will he be able to convince Skylar that his infamous past is behind him.
Bailey's writing is superb and even though we know the eventual outcome, boy do we have fun getting there. The sex is pitcher perfect, hot and spicy, the characters perfectly brougth to life and the story spot on.

Tessa Bailey does it again! I’m absolutely loving this series and was thrilled to receive an ARC.
Pitcher Perfect is Tessa Bailey at her best - funny, sexy, and heartwarming.
I loved both Robbie and Skylar, the tension was delicious and I enjoyed the backdrop of the fake-dating and Page Stakes as their feelings developed.
I’m already mourning how long it’ll be until we have the next book the series - please, please give me Madden and Eve 😭
4.5 stars rounded to 5! Thank you again to HarperCollins for the ARC.

I knew I was going to love Robbie, but I didn’t know I was going to LOVE him. And I wanted to saddle up beside him to ride into battle for Skylar because I adored her too. The two of them just *fit* together.
The initial meeting between Robbie and Skylar was set up in Dream Girl Drama, and I loved getting to see it from their perspective in this one. Robbie defined the “he falls first, fast, and hard” lightning strike moment, something Tessa Bailey does so well. What I loved most about how that played out with Robbie was that meeting Skylar inherently changed him, or rather put him back on track to the kind of man he was raised to and wanted to be. Robbie had a past, and I loved the way it was handled from his perspective in that it was acknowledged, but from the moment he met Skylar she was it for him. She was a wake-up call for him, and he rose to the occasion. (In more ways than one because this is a Tessa Bailey book, but we’ll get there.)
Skylar was a firecracker, but also someone who struggled to find her place and her voice among in her family. She was such a standout, yet often made to feel like no matter how hard she tried or how much she achieved, it was never quite up to par with the family expectations. The idea of Robbie helping her make Madden jealous to ultimately win his affections might now have worked for me if it hadn’t been so clear that that was at best simply the idea of Madden that she was really in love with. The spark between Skylar and Robbie was present from the first moment, despite Skylar’s reluctance. It quickly became clear that Robbie was exactly the kind of man who would elevate her, see her, and give her all the affection and love in the way she needed and craved.
It wouldn’t be a Tessa Bailey book if some of those needs weren’t of the steamy variety. Robbie was cocky for a reason because the man knows how to deliver. And when matched with a partner who cared about her needs and her desires, Skylar flourished in her own right when it came to meeting him move for move. It was more of a slow burn to get down to it, and it worked so well for the story to play out that way with the two of them.
I know I’m forgetting things I wanted to comment on but this is already super long. I just really loved this one. I laughed at the banter, I swooned at the romance. I had a ton of fun reading. Thank you to Avon via NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

Pitcher Perfect is the fourth novel in Tessa Bailey’s Hot Shots series. Despite owning the first three, this is the first in the series I’ve read, though you can be sure I’ll be readdressing that balance soon! Pitcher Perfect is everything you’d expect from a Tessa Bailey fake dating novel and I loved it for that.
In Pitcher Perfect we meet NHL rookie Robbie who is living his best bachelor lifestyle, that is until he meets pitcher Skylar at a hockey vs baseball grudge match. Skylar immediately pegs Robbie as a playboy and wants nothing to do with him, but after he wins a bet to take her out and her teammate for her families upcoming games drops out, the pair hatch a plan. Robbie will help Skylar at the Page Stakes and be her guide on wooing her long time crush (her brother’s best friend!) whilst trying to reform her view of him. Through a series of contests that require them to trust each other, Robbie and Skylar grow closer and closer until their fake relationship starts to feel like the realest thing they’ve ever known and the sizzling lessons in sensuality burn out of control.
This book was honestly so much fun. I’m a big fan of duel POV and it worked perfectly here. Our man Robbie had it bad for Skylar pretty much from the get go, whilst she was most definitely wary, and yet boy does he prove himself to her. The Page Stakes were wild, and completely unhinged, the best part though was seeing what a great team Skylar and Robbie made. The longer they spent together, the more real things began to feel between them, with Madden becoming a second thought rather than Skylar’s main focus. I really liked how the pair tried to encourage one another and brought out the best in each other too. It was also only when they were together that they really felt they could be themselves which worked so well.
I love Tessa Bailey and totally enjoyed this one. Now I’m going to go back and read the others.

Fabulous! A fake boyfriend/ girlfriend story at the heart and yet the book covers so much more. It rooms through family dynamics and confidence and what happened when you feel the odd one out in your family. The book is also a little frenetic and mad with special family olympics where teams compete in bizarre medically unsound games which is fun but also a tiny bit sad. The sporting prowess of the characters is well told but t(e sport itself isn’t made too much of. The book 8 about relationships and where to go when you need love and care.

This is hands down my favorite book in the series so far. It had all the tropes I adore—enemies to lovers, only one bed, fake dating, sports romance—basically everything I could ask for.
Robbie totally won me over. He started off as a major player (okay, a huge one), but he really came through in the end and redeemed himself. And Skylar? She was incredible—strong, fearless, and exactly the kind of fierce female lead I love rooting for.
A solid 5 stars from me, I hope there will be another one in the series!

Pitcher Perfect was everything I want in a fake dating romance fun, flirty, and full of unexpected heart. Robbie and Skylar's chemistry practically jumped off the page, and I was completely charmed by the chaotic family games, tender moments, and all the swoony steam Tessa Bailey is known for.

One of the more light-hearted, fun-filled and less angsty of Bailey's Big Shots sports romances, this was a delightful fake dating, forced proximity romance between hockey playboy Robbie Madigan and Skyler the college baseball pitcher who steals his heart when he was least expecting it. Fast-paced, full of laughs and of course tons of SPICE. This had more heart than I was expecting and it put a smile on my face from start to finish. I have my fingers crossed that Madden and Eve's story will be next!! Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

Tessa Bailey could have written the bible but could God have written Pitcher Perfect? No.
"I didn't expect Skylar. She's clever, funny, driven, cool, and... God, she's fucking beautiful… I'm here for her. No other reason. She's reason enough."
I love a reformed playboy and throughout this series I’ve wanted to see the Orgasm Donors redemption. So glad we got Robbie’s story.
Fake Dating will never not do it for me. Tessa Bailey will never not do it for me.
I loved that the book not only showed Robbie and Skylar’s personal growth and relationship growth, but I loved that Robbie also encouraged Skylar’s family to grow.
Read Time ⏱️ 3.25 hours
“I wouldn't tell you I know how to listen to yes and no, then lie to you in the same breath."
"I'm worried I'll be half asleep and... touch you without thinking… I mean, Christ. It takes concentration not to touch you when I'm awake."
“You going to let me be your boyfriend, Skylar?”
“You taught me to trust what I'm feeling and stop laughing everything off. So I can't laugh at this. I can't pretend I'm not feeling judged and punished when I just came here to love you."

Thank you to Harper360 for providing this review for consideration via NetGalley all opinions are my own.
I have only recently got into sports romances, I have read less than 10 but I saw the plot summary of this book and I really wanted to read it. Robbie Corrigan is a rookie ice hockey player for the Boston Bearcats and he is a player in more one than once, he’s knocked for six when he meets Skylar Page division one softball pitcher during a baseball game against the local baseball team which includes Skylar’s brother. They book enter in a fake relationship in the ruse of helping Skylar attract Madden her brothers best friend.
I really enjoyed this book, it was really funny as Skylar was knocking him down to size as she was not interested to start with but he gradually wormed his way in. There is some steam in this book but it added to the story rather than overwhelm it, Robbie was just so way over his head but I was really routing for him. I really liked Skylar and how she came into herself with Robbie supporting her. I loved this book, I will definitely be rereading it and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. I will be reading the other books in the series as I really like the authors writing.

4.5 (rounded to 5!)
Tessa Bailey is BACK! Dream Girl Drama wasn’t really for me, so I was apprehensive going into this to say the least. I needn’t have worried - fake dating will draw me in time and time again - I’m a glutton for it.
We briefly met Skylar (a softball pitcher, a BU student in a family full of Brown alumni and a type A queen with an immaculate planner) in Dream Girl Drama and our story picks up during the plot of DGD. Robbie is one of the OG Orgasm Donor’s, a player on the Boston Bearcats hockey team, and a quintessential single sports star (for lack of a better phrase). Let’s just say he does not make a good first impression and he spends the rest of the book trying to make up for it…
The book was a tiny bit insta-love-ish for my taste, although I still absolutely adored the story and the characters. The timeline was so fast and I feel like that is really jarring in a romance book. I really think all my fellow fake dating lovers are going to eat this up, and potentially the speed of the relationship progression won’t be an issue for others. I loved how Robbie was so willing to change for his girl, and their entire dynamic was so sweet (and spicy…). We also got a HUGE suggestion about the characters for book 5, and let me tell you - I’m SO ready!
All in all, a much better read (for me at least) than Dream Girl Drama, I smashed through this in about 4 hours and loved the whole ride - I’m just not an insta-love gal, so not quite a 5!
