Description

#1 New York Times bestselling author Tessa Bailey is back with an all-new enemies-to-lovers, fake-dating sports romance about a playboy hockey rookie and the disciplined softball pitcher completely immune to his charms.

Boston Bearcats rookie Robbie Corrigan is living the dream. He’s made it to the NHL, his best friend/teammate and fellow “orgasm donor” is his roomie—and the women of Boston love them both. Life is sweet. That is, until he meets Skylar Paige, division 1 softball pitcher, girl least likely to take anyone’s bull…and the one member of the opposite sex immune to his charms. Robbie might be dazzled by the badass pitcher, but Skylar pegs him as a filthy player and wants nothing to do with him.

When he discovers she’s carrying a serious torch for her brother’s best friend, Robbie knows he should just go back to clubbing and whipped cream bikini parties, but he can’t seem to leave Skylar to flounder on her romantic quest to land another man. Nor can he miss out on the opportunity to spend time with her and hopefully redeem himself. Before Robbie knows it, he’s agreed to be Skylar’s fake boyfriend/love coach at an upcoming family wilderness competition where her crush will be in attendance. What could go wrong?

Through a series of contests that require them to trust each other, Robbie and Skylar grow closer and closer until their fake relationship starts to feel like the realest thing they’ve ever known and the sizzling lessons in sensuality burn out of control.

But it’s all just pretend…right?

I think this might be my favourite in the Big Shots series - and I never thought I’d be saying that about one of the sperm donors, but here we are.

Robbie Corrigan is the biggest red bearded teddy bear and watching him fall for Skylar was a joy to read.

Tessa Bailey brought a whole load of fantastic characters, a weird family hunger games style competition, a guy who would literally do anything for his girl and her usual spice! It’s a wonderful combination and a delightful read from start to finish.

I’m as shocked as TB that Robbie and Mailer have depth - but I am here for it! Can’t wait to see what she has in store for Mailer.

Huge thanks to Avon for the ARC.

Super easy to read, I demolished this in one sitting. Characters that you can’t help empathise with because they seem so genuine and effortlessly constructed. It just felt like the perfect holiday read to escape to a sports romance that felt like it was ‘more’

This was such a fun read. A perfect holiday book and as always, the smut was to D I E for.

I adored Robbie Corrigan. He was sensitive, addictive, funny and so much more. I just fell in love with the character he was perceived to be. He put others before himself and he was just so genuine.

Then we have Skylar Paige, a softball pitcher and someone who is in love with her brother’s best friend so wants a fake boyfriend. In come sexy, handsome Robbie. And the rest is history.

I can’t put into words how great this book was to read. We have a lot of tropes I am loving; fake dating, opposites attract and a beautiful golden retriever who’s absolutely obsessed with her.

It was funny… hilarious at times. Robbie and Skylars banter was through the roof. I laughed so hard. And do you know what I loved most about this book? It was the family competing against each other and how Robbie ends it right there and then for Skylars sake. He makes her and her family SEE her for who she is. The hard working, beautiful, smart woman that she is. Ugh. Just give it to me!

Another marvellous read from Tessa Bailey with TB spice. It was the perfect read. A huge thanks to @harper360uk and @tessabaileyisanauthor for allowing me access to this arc via @netgalleyuk.

Pitcher Perfect was so much fun! Robbie, who was a goofball when we met him in the previous books, meets his one in Pitcher Perfect and falls hard and fast.
Robbie's character arc is one of the things that works really well in this story. He mends his playboy ways, and grows from that guy, to someone who shows up for Skylar constantly, supports her, and works on himself to be a better person.
Skylar is pretty great too - she does not shy away from telling Robbie what she thinks of him, kinda mean sometimes, which Robbie absolutely loves!
I enjoyed every moment of this story: the forced proximity when they fake date, the way Robbie is honest and genuine about his feelings, the way Skylar brings out the best in him, and the undeniable chemistry between the two.
Great moments with the main characters of the previous books too! I have loved every book in this series (read them all for the first time this month, too!), and I look forward to more!

The story in emojis: ⚾️🏒🌶️

3 things about this book:
•Sports Romance
•Spicy scenes
•Big Shots series

ℝ𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pitcher Perfect is the fourth book of the Big Shots series - but I read as a stand-alone.

I really liked this book from the very beginning - how can you not after her first words to him! As with all Tessa Bailey’s books, there is plenty of spice!

This book has some of my favourite romance tropes including “fake relationship” and “he falls first”.

I loved the dynamic between Skylar and Robbie, they were perfect for this story - and it was great to have both characters as athletes in a sports romance.

Thank you Netgalley and Harper360 -

Two teams, both alike in dignity,
In fair Boston, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break to new relations,
Where civil fake dating makes civil hearts lean.

This book was so friggin’ sweet. First of all, Tessa Bailey’s writing was a dream. My highlighted quotes have imprinted on my brain:
‘As she stood there preparing to two, his unwavering gaze slowly started to calm the choppy ocean surface inside her. His lips weren’t moving, but somehow, she could hear him, feel him on every side of her, his presence a reassurance.’

This book reminded me of 'Get a Life, Chloe Brown' with the banter and relationship dynamics between Skylar and Robbie, as well as Skylar’s spicy plans. Everything about the two complemented the other, and made for a swoon-worthy read.

I also adored the confrontation of male emotions being suppressed, and how the third act conflict was completely valid on both characters' ends (i.e. no miscommunication, they talked through their feelings like actual adults and did what they had to do to find their ways back to each other). Both characters taught each other so much and it made for both gorgeous character arcs and a well-rounded, satisfying ending. (Many tears were shed.)

I have to say, this was just my cup of tea. I love a sports romance and fake dating so devoured this in a day. I love the sexual tension in the book, the humour and the sweetness of their relationship. This was a funny, sexy and heart warming read. If you like the other books by Tessa Bailey, this won't disappoint

Oh this was a great read. I loved the chemistry between Redbeard and Rocket!
Two athletes at the top of their game, so perfectly suited to each other, it's a wonder they can't see it for themselves. Robbie is adorable as he comes to realise that his past does not define who he really he is but he's going to have to work hard to get past Skylar's defences and convince her that he's serious especially when she's in love with her brother's best friend.

When Robbie peruades her into a fake dating scheme, to help her save face in her family's ridiculous annual contest, it offers him the perfect opportunity to show his true colours. Will he be able to convince Skylar that his infamous past is behind him.

Bailey's writing is superb and even though we know the eventual outcome, boy do we have fun getting there. The sex is pitcher perfect, hot and spicy, the characters perfectly brougth to life and the story spot on.

Tessa Bailey does it again! I’m absolutely loving this series and was thrilled to receive an ARC.

Pitcher Perfect is Tessa Bailey at her best - funny, sexy, and heartwarming.

I loved both Robbie and Skylar, the tension was delicious and I enjoyed the backdrop of the fake-dating and Page Stakes as their feelings developed.

I’m already mourning how long it’ll be until we have the next book the series - please, please give me Madden and Eve 😭

I knew I was going to love Robbie, but I didn’t know I was going to LOVE him. And I wanted to saddle up beside him to ride into battle for Skylar because I adored her too. The two of them just *fit* together.

The initial meeting between Robbie and Skylar was set up in Dream Girl Drama, and I loved getting to see it from their perspective in this one. Robbie defined the “he falls first, fast, and hard” lightning strike moment, something Tessa Bailey does so well. What I loved most about how that played out with Robbie was that meeting Skylar inherently changed him, or rather put him back on track to the kind of man he was raised to and wanted to be. Robbie had a past, and I loved the way it was handled from his perspective in that it was acknowledged, but from the moment he met Skylar she was it for him. She was a wake-up call for him, and he rose to the occasion. (In more ways than one because this is a Tessa Bailey book, but we’ll get there.)

Skylar was a firecracker, but also someone who struggled to find her place and her voice among in her family. She was such a standout, yet often made to feel like no matter how hard she tried or how much she achieved, it was never quite up to par with the family expectations. The idea of Robbie helping her make Madden jealous to ultimately win his affections might now have worked for me if it hadn’t been so clear that that was at best simply the idea of Madden that she was really in love with. The spark between Skylar and Robbie was present from the first moment, despite Skylar’s reluctance. It quickly became clear that Robbie was exactly the kind of man who would elevate her, see her, and give her all the affection and love in the way she needed and craved.

It wouldn’t be a Tessa Bailey book if some of those needs weren’t of the steamy variety. Robbie was cocky for a reason because the man knows how to deliver. And when matched with a partner who cared about her needs and her desires, Skylar flourished in her own right when it came to meeting him move for move. It was more of a slow burn to get down to it, and it worked so well for the story to play out that way with the two of them.

I know I’m forgetting things I wanted to comment on but this is already super long. I just really loved this one. I laughed at the banter, I swooned at the romance. I had a ton of fun reading. Thank you to Avon via NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Pitcher Perfect is the fourth novel in Tessa Bailey’s Hot Shots series. Despite owning the first three, this is the first in the series I’ve read, though you can be sure I’ll be readdressing that balance soon! Pitcher Perfect is everything you’d expect from a Tessa Bailey fake dating novel and I loved it for that.

In Pitcher Perfect we meet NHL rookie Robbie who is living his best bachelor lifestyle, that is until he meets pitcher Skylar at a hockey vs baseball grudge match. Skylar immediately pegs Robbie as a playboy and wants nothing to do with him, but after he wins a bet to take her out and her teammate for her families upcoming games drops out, the pair hatch a plan. Robbie will help Skylar at the Page Stakes and be her guide on wooing her long time crush (her brother’s best friend!) whilst trying to reform her view of him. Through a series of contests that require them to trust each other, Robbie and Skylar grow closer and closer until their fake relationship starts to feel like the realest thing they’ve ever known and the sizzling lessons in sensuality burn out of control.

This book was honestly so much fun. I’m a big fan of duel POV and it worked perfectly here. Our man Robbie had it bad for Skylar pretty much from the get go, whilst she was most definitely wary, and yet boy does he prove himself to her. The Page Stakes were wild, and completely unhinged, the best part though was seeing what a great team Skylar and Robbie made. The longer they spent together, the more real things began to feel between them, with Madden becoming a second thought rather than Skylar’s main focus. I really liked how the pair tried to encourage one another and brought out the best in each other too. It was also only when they were together that they really felt they could be themselves which worked so well.

I love Tessa Bailey and totally enjoyed this one. Now I’m going to go back and read the others.

Fabulous! A fake boyfriend/ girlfriend story at the heart and yet the book covers so much more. It rooms through family dynamics and confidence and what happened when you feel the odd one out in your family. The book is also a little frenetic and mad with special family olympics where teams compete in bizarre medically unsound games which is fun but also a tiny bit sad. The sporting prowess of the characters is well told but t(e sport itself isn’t made too much of. The book 8 about relationships and where to go when you need love and care.

This is hands down my favorite book in the series so far. It had all the tropes I adore—enemies to lovers, only one bed, fake dating, sports romance—basically everything I could ask for.

Robbie totally won me over. He started off as a major player (okay, a huge one), but he really came through in the end and redeemed himself. And Skylar? She was incredible—strong, fearless, and exactly the kind of fierce female lead I love rooting for.

A solid 5 stars from me, I hope there will be another one in the series!

One of the more light-hearted, fun-filled and less angsty of Bailey's Big Shots sports romances, this was a delightful fake dating, forced proximity romance between hockey playboy Robbie Madigan and Skyler the college baseball pitcher who steals his heart when he was least expecting it. Fast-paced, full of laughs and of course tons of SPICE. This had more heart than I was expecting and it put a smile on my face from start to finish. I have my fingers crossed that Madden and Eve's story will be next!! Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

Tessa Bailey could have written the bible but could God have written Pitcher Perfect? No.

"I didn't expect Skylar. She's clever, funny, driven, cool, and... God, she's fucking beautiful… I'm here for her. No other reason. She's reason enough."

I love a reformed playboy and throughout this series I’ve wanted to see the Orgasm Donors redemption. So glad we got Robbie’s story.

Fake Dating will never not do it for me. Tessa Bailey will never not do it for me.

I loved that the book not only showed Robbie and Skylar’s personal growth and relationship growth, but I loved that Robbie also encouraged Skylar’s family to grow.

Read Time ⏱️ 3.25 hours

“I wouldn't tell you I know how to listen to yes and no, then lie to you in the same breath."

"I'm worried I'll be half asleep and... touch you without thinking… I mean, Christ. It takes concentration not to touch you when I'm awake."

“You going to let me be your boyfriend, Skylar?”

“You taught me to trust what I'm feeling and stop laughing everything off. So I can't laugh at this. I can't pretend I'm not feeling judged and punished when I just came here to love you."

4.5 (rounded to 5!)

Tessa Bailey is BACK! Dream Girl Drama wasn’t really for me, so I was apprehensive going into this to say the least. I needn’t have worried - fake dating will draw me in time and time again - I’m a glutton for it.

We briefly met Skylar (a softball pitcher, a BU student in a family full of Brown alumni and a type A queen with an immaculate planner) in Dream Girl Drama and our story picks up during the plot of DGD. Robbie is one of the OG Orgasm Donor’s, a player on the Boston Bearcats hockey team, and a quintessential single sports star (for lack of a better phrase). Let’s just say he does not make a good first impression and he spends the rest of the book trying to make up for it…

The book was a tiny bit insta-love-ish for my taste, although I still absolutely adored the story and the characters. The timeline was so fast and I feel like that is really jarring in a romance book. I really think all my fellow fake dating lovers are going to eat this up, and potentially the speed of the relationship progression won’t be an issue for others. I loved how Robbie was so willing to change for his girl, and their entire dynamic was so sweet (and spicy…). We also got a HUGE suggestion about the characters for book 5, and let me tell you - I’m SO ready!

All in all, a much better read (for me at least) than Dream Girl Drama, I smashed through this in about 4 hours and loved the whole ride - I’m just not an insta-love gal, so not quite a 5!

This is the perfect summer read! It's an enemies-to-lovers, fake dating, sports romance and is the fourth in the Big Shots series, which is a set of interconnected standalones. I really enjoy Tessa Bailey's work in general, and this didn't disappoint in terms of smut and witty banter.

We've met Robbie before in previous books, and I was so thrilled to get into his book. I really enjoyed his relationship with Skylar and absolutely devoured it in one sitting. Robbie redeemed himself in the end, and Skylar is an FMC you can root for who goes through such a journey throughout this book.

A combination of the very best tropes – fake dating, sport, he falls first and forced proximity. We definitely do not have enough baseball players in the sport/romance genre, but baseball AND hockey? Thank you, Tessa.

Skylar, a competitive baseball player, suffering from the inability to live up to family expectations, is struggling with a case of unrequited love with her brother’s best friend. And what better way to win him over than a little bit of fake dating? MY FAVOURITE TROPE. But I’m getting ahead of myself...

Because Robbie Corrigan, NHL rookie and stereo-typical hockey playing womaniser sets his sights Skylar when her brother brings her along to pitch against the Boston Bearcats during a testosterone filled game of men determined to prove that their sport is better.

However, bragging about his conquests to his teammates becomes a serious ick for Skylar, that she agrees to put aside for her own gain. Coming from a family with an annual competition, Skylar finds herself a partner down. But she does find herself with a golden retriever hockey player who is willing to help her gain experience, compete and win over her brother's friend.

Robbie will agree to just about anything to spend time with Skylar, even if that means helping her in her romantic quest for somebody else.

I loved both Skylar and Robbie, the Type A personality of Skylar and Robbie’s golden retriever energy was the best combination. Two very competitive strangers getting to know each other through forced proximity. A little better than planned.

“This wasn’t real, no matter how much he wanted it to be. She was there to learn from him, not to make an actual connection.”

This was such a fun and easy read. It had the perfect amount of character development. Enemies to lovers helping each other through a journey of self-discovery and confidence? Yes please.

“Just... boom.”

I’ve always loved Tessa’s writing but the tension and inability to ignore the growing feelings between the characters was so prominent throughout Pitcher Perfect, it had me screaming at every chapter.

“Finding your person was a miracle and once you did, keeping them close was pure necessity.”

If you’re looking for something steamy to get your feet kicking at the inevitable slow descent to all-encompassing love, this is the book for you.

Thank you NetGalley and Harper360 for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

📚 Book Review 📚

#adprproduct

I want to thank NetGalley for approving me for an ARC of this book. As soon as I saw my approval I jumped straight into this one.

Robbie and Skylar were amazing! The sarcasm, tension and humour had me grinning from ear to ear. Skylar's family are certifiably insane. The yearly competition they hold isn't for the faint hearted but if anyone can handle then it's Robbie.

If you're a fan of fake dating, he falls first, forced proximity then I highly recommend you read this. It's fun, sexy and highly entertaining.

I can't wait to see which couple is next in this series.

Every time I read a new book in this series, I tell myself that there's no way the next one can beat it. Every time reader, I am wrong.

This book kicks off from the infamous baseball game in Dreamgirl Drama, picking up with Robbie and Skyler who are infatuated with and hate eachother immediately (respectively). After an awkward "date" they agree that Robbie will fake date Skylar to make her brother's best friend (who she's been in love with for years) jealous and make him realise he wants her. We all know where this is going to end up!

I loved these two characters, Robbie was an excellent example of a character who has lost himself and is only now realising that there are serious consequences to his behaviour. Skylar is an odd duck in her family but despite being someone who will absolutely wail on her brother and tell a random guy (Robbie) "fuck you" the first time she sees him, she's still too scared to stand up for herself with her family. Both of these characters go through growth and change in a way that helps them to be the versions of themsevels they've always wanted to be without changing at their core and I love this for them.

As always, Tessa Bailey hits it out of the park (pun intended) and this had me on a total rollarcoaster of emotions.

In this enemies-to-lovers, fake-dating sports romance, Boston Bearcats rookie Robbie Corrigan is living the dream. He's made it to the NHL, his best friend and teammate is his roommate, and the women of Boston adore them both. That is, until he meets Skylar Paige, a Division 1 softball pitcher who is completely immune to his charms. Skylar sees Robbie as a typical player and wants nothing to do with him. However, when she reveals she's carrying a torch for her brother's best friend, Robbie can't help but get involved. He agrees to be her fake boyfriend and love coach at an upcoming family wilderness competition where her crush will be in attendance. As they navigate a series of contests that require trust, Robbie and Skylar grow closer, and their fake relationship starts to feel all too real.

Pitcher Perfect by Tessa Bailey surprised me in the best way. I wasn’t completely sold on the writing style at first (it took a few chapters to really click with me) but once it did, I was hooked. The pacing is fast and addictive, I flew through the pages and found it hard to put down.
Robbie and Skylar were such a great couple. Robbie is down bad for her from the start, and I loved how deeply that devotion is portrayed. It’s not just physical attraction (although the spice is definitely there) but something more layered and emotional. Their chemistry is off the charts, but what really makes it work is the emotional depth and solid character development that unfolds as the story progresses.
I went into this unsure if it would be my vibe, but it totally won me over. If you’re in the mood for a steamy, fast-paced romance with an MMC who is absolutely smitten, Pitcher Perfect is definitely worth the read.

D1 pitcher (love her!) she takes no one's nonsense especially not Robbie's. She has no time for guys like him and their first interaction just proves that buttt she needs help capturing the attention of her brothers bestfriend..
Enter Robbie 'Red beard' Corrigan - Pro hockey player and a defo womaniser. Until he meets Skylar that is.... He's the perfect person to fake date Skylar and give her lessons until he realises he doesn't want her with anyone else but him
I love a pathetic and obsessed man
Robbie was down
BAD and I was so here for it (and the mouth on that man
PHEW
I absolutely ate this book up the tension had me hooked!!
Robbie's growth throughout the book was so special to see (Skylar really said I can fix him... no really I can!!) love me a reformed playboy. My guy ONLY had eyes for her Plus the way he helped Skylar build her confidence and stand up for herself especially in front of her family SO PRECIOUS!!

The Queen does it again!! Another absolute winner from Tessa Bailey. It was just a great story of love and of course her trademark spice. I really enjoyed this story. It came with no real outside story, just focus on the couple and what makes them the best together.

Thank you for this arc. I loved it.

❤️Redbeard & rocket ❤️

This was one of them books where it's 1am and you say 1 more chapter, but it's never actually 1 more chapter. Then it's suddenly 5am, and your toddler is up in 2 hrs

Robbie was a man obsessed from literally chapter 2. My man had no chill around skyler he went from playboy to exclusive real fast. The minute Robbie suggested how to help skyler, I cringed for him, but a little fake dating never hurt anyone, right? Wrong it hurt my heart when poor robbie was falling in love thinking he was alone in it.
This was somehow a slow burn with insta love on his end 😂 I wont lie skyler was so oblivious to there tension and chemistry that it actually hurt my head i really wanted to give her a little shove to tell her to sort herself out but she was so nieve it was actually cute 🥹

This was such a great sports romance! I was all in from the start. There were so many laughs and the banter was on point—I couldn’t stop smiling. I’ve always loved opposites attract stories, and this one delivered. Add in fake dating and forced proximity, and it was everything I enjoy in a romance.

I was loving the whole thing from beginning to end. Even though the family dynamic felt a bit off or frustrating at times, it didn’t ruin it for me. I actually think it made the romance stand out more. I was so glad these two found their way to each other.

It honestly felt like I was there, watching it all happen. Seeing how things changed, how the tension turned into something real—it made me feel like I was part of the story. Just terrific.

Tessa Bailey has done it again with another steamy filled romance filled with some of my favourite tropes.

Pitcher Perfect is another book following a member of the Boston Bearcats Hockey Team, and this time, it's Robbie's moment to find love.

Robbie and Mailer have been a hilarious duo popping up in the previous two books with their nickname 'The Orgasm Donors', and it was a real joy to see behind the humour and crude jokes.

Robbie and Skylar had brilliant chemistry and after he clocks her at the baseball game between the Hockey players and the Baseball team it's love at first sight, well for Robbie at least!

This addictive romance features fake dating and a slight enemies to lovers. This book will have you giggling and blushing.

Thank you to Harper360, Avon and NetGalley for the ARC.

4.5 stars ROUNDED UP!!!!

THIS LOL THIS HAD ME KICKING MY FEET GIGGLING.

First off, I would bareknuckle fight for Robbie purely for his dry, not missing a beat sense of humour and the banter he and Skylar had. *MWAH!* Chef kiss with the way they would hit off each other and it just went flirty from the get go. Not really enemies to lovers more like I can't stand you but help me to lovers LOL Skylar asks Robbie for his help and some lessons in how to make her older brother's best pal finally notice her AND WELL....IT CAN ONLY GO FROM THERE AND IT'S JUST GREAT

AND! He falls first, and he falls hard. HARD.

This was great! And apparently part of a series which I will dive head first in to but can be read as a stand alone!

Pitcher Perfect is Tessa Bailey at her swooniest – sexy, funny, and bursting with chemistry from page one! The banter is top-tier, the romance hits all the right notes, and I was completely obsessed with the will-they-won’t-they tension (spoiler: they will and it’s glorious). The small-town vibes are cosy, the characters are lovable in their own chaotic ways, and the whole thing reads like a romcom you’d want to watch on repeat. Honestly, it’s pure joy in book form – five stars, no notes, I adored it! 💕⚾

OMG did i say i was a big fan of Tessa Bailey No?!! i ment i am a huge fan . A big big thank you to the publishers Avon and Haroer360 for asking me to review the book ,yes of course i was jumping around like a mad woman .

My hubby is a hockey player and yes part of his charm for me could relate to the story even better .

The characters i love how Tessa brings them to life in a way you can relate to them , i loved Robbie oh my gosh what a darling he is and the way he will do anything for Skylor I thought was super sweet , i mean who would not want to date him .

The fact the story starts out as fake dating i loved which is one of my favourites .
i also loved the banter very much indeed , had me belly chuckling .

the family game( sorry spoiler here) so much fun and i laughed so much it was brilliant and very competitive like a mini hunger game .

i loved the fact the book had so many tropes to enjoy from fake dating to opposites attract.

Tessa writing you do not really need to ask is wonderful .

i think Robbie and Skyler are one of my new favourite couples for 2025 .

i am giving the book a big romantic 5 stars

TB just never fails, she was the author that got me into romance with It Happened One Summer and she's just been getting better and better ever since!

I LOVED Fangirl Down, the Au Pair Affair fell a littleeeee flat for me because I didn't love Tallulah and I liked Dream Girl Drama with Chloe and Sig (woof) but Pitcher Perfect has blown them out the water! I have been waiting for the orgasm donors book since the beginning and Robbie was just the softest sweetest man who fell HARD for Skylar. As always, the spice was just perfect, the character growth fun, and I can't wait to see what's in store for Mailer next...

Thank you NetGalley and Harper360!!

I’ll read anything Tessa Bailey writes, but Pitcher Perfect might just be my favourite yet in the Big Shots series. It’s everything I want in a romance: fake dating, he-falls-first, forced proximity, and a golden retriever hero who’s wildly obsessed with the girl who wants nothing to do with him.

Robbie Corrigan—our reformed "Orgasm Donor"—completely stole my heart. He’s chaotic, tender, and so deeply in love it hurts. Skylar Paige is fiercely competitive, brilliant, and doesn't take crap from anyone. Their banter? Pitch perfect. Their chemistry? Off the charts. The wilderness family games? Utter madness in the best way.

Bailey brings her signature heat, heart, and humour to a romance that’s about more than love—it’s about choosing who you want to be, and having someone who sees your worth even when you don’t. I laughed, I swooned, and yes, I kicked my feet.

Already counting the days until Mailer’s story.

Thank you to Harper360 and NetGalley for the ARC!

Tessa Bailey is definitely one of my favourite romance authors and Pitcher Perfect did not disappoint! With fake dating, contests, spice and sports this was bound to be a winner for me but Bailey definitely knocked it out of the park! I was obsessed from the start! Seeing the relationship blossom and the two fall slowly in love really did a number on my heart strings. Family time, defending each other and just general chaos made for a stunning story that I just couldn’t put down!! I need the next installment now please!

Tessa Bailey is a fantastic writer. she is a go- to. every single book that reaches the top of my tbr pile i know will be super. and every time one of her books does reach the top of my pile im already smiling. and i also know i will be setting aside any and all time because she will keep me flipping those pages almost certainly every time until the end. i want to swallow her books whole.
this book was pitched perfect and landed exactly where i needed it to. i needed fun, light and smiley worthy and i got it.
this book follow Skylar a pitcher and Robbie another player in every sense. ugh. Robbie lives like a player and plays like a player. and its not good. there is one chink in his armour and that is Skylar. but she knows his game and she is having none of it. no way. never. hes everything gross in a man. right? Skylar does has her own chink and that is her crush who happens to be coming to a family get together just round the corner. so what can a guy do to spend more time with her. oh yes. hes does the very sensible cant go wrong or become complex idea of pretending to be in a relationship with each other for the gathering so she can finally catch the eye of her crush.
but what comes next is surprising to both of them. because the games become serious. and the feelings become real. and they start thinking how life could change with each other and definitely in Robbie's case life changing for her.
this is one of those blush and swing your feet kind of reads. its fun, light but somehow intense and true too.
`Robbie has no shame in how he lives his life. and some would say why should he( some of us def wouldn't though matie.)
Skylar does't give him a whisper of a chance. she knows me of him, like him and its not ok. ever.
but they both need something from this plan. and they might not come out the other side with those expectations they had going in.
the banter, the spice, the tension were all of course on point.
the way Skylar gets to know this kind, protective, kind of good guy? oh what a joy to be witness. Robbie respectful? ha yes. Robbie being her cheerleader and supporter when things got tough and also when things were great, a man there for her just because he wanted to be. because she was worth it to him? ha yes please!
the family fun moments was also brilliant. its giving me movies i used to watch when i was younger and i far to often wonder where they've gone in today's world kind of vibes. and im all for it.
another brilliant book that was a joy to read.
Tessa brings her usual pizzazz to this book. if you know you know.

Robbie is a womanizing rookie on the Bearcats hockey team who doesn’t take anything seriously, until he meets the extremely competitive softball player, Skylar. Just one roadblock to his sudden infatuation: Skylar is in love with her brother’s best friend. Desperate for more time with her and an opportunity to erase a bad first impression, Robbie convinces her to fake date him to make the other guy jealous. Now he just has to get her to consider him seriously as an option!

This was such a fun edition to the series! I really didn’t expect to like Robbie but he definitely won me over, and I found Skylar with her competitive streak and fondness for planning things out very relatable. I loved cameos from Burgess and Sig too!

At this point I blindly trust Tessa Bailey, and she’s earned it once again.

I loved how Robbie just knew all along how much of a bad idea this was for him, that he would get hurt, but couldn’t stop himself from giving Skylar anything she’d ask for from the moment he met her. He’s all big bad boy on the outside, very sweet inside but trying to hide it. And once he starts showing up for her, protecting her, fighting for her?! Oh boy he was incredible.

I loved Skylar’s character just as much. She is strong and sarcastic and takes no bullshit, but somehow insecure. Except with Robbie - it was really funny that she didn’t even try to impress Robbie, and yet that’s exactly how she got him down so bad. The banter between them was top tier, and their connection and attraction was growing page after page in the best way. And sure, maybe there were a few times where I wanted to shake Skylar to open her eyes and just climb her fake boyfriend already…

Perfect spice and perfect pitches. Top tier angst and yearning, Tessa Bailey never misses!!

Pitcher Perfect is for those romance lovers who yearn to read a perfect love story, where our hearts are on our sleeves along with the characters.

I’m a sucker for a boy who knows when to change and what’s important in life. I started this book a fan of banter, but I’m leaving as a fan of Robbie’s god tier pining. Robbie and Skylar are full of life, fire, and fight. Their sporty competitive personalities intertwined with raw and vulnerable selves made reading their story all the more real and fun.

What I loved most was how Robbie learnt to express himself, not just his own character development but keeping Skylar’s little things in mind. No-pulp orange juice for the win. He learnt how important planning was to Skylar and ensured they stuck to her planner as far as possible. Forced proximity was never done better!

X Sports Romance (Hockey and Baseball)
X Dating lessons
X Opposites Attract
X Forced Prox
X Reformed Playboy

Everything I’ve come to expect and love from Tessa Bailey. Spice, Romance and Banter with perfect pacing and heart wrenching moments. At its core this book was fun, flirty and emotionally satisfying.

This was everything I love from a sports romance. The competitive energy between Skylar and Robbie was out of this world. And their CHEMISTRY, off the charts! You can feel the tension in every pitch Skylar throws and every move Robbie makes to prove he’s more than a pretty face in the tabloids.

Get ready to fall in love and meet your new book boyfriend because I need myself a Robbie Corrigan.

I’m really enjoying this series from TB so it wasn’t a surprise that it had my kicking my feet every step of the way.

Really enjoyed Skylar as a badass sports star In her own right although I do wish she had a bit more self confidence. I wanted a touch more of the Ilona Maher vibes from her. I really enjoyed Robbie’s character. He’s been light relief in the previous books so seeing him come into his own was fun to read

I love Tessa Bailey, and let me tell you this book did not disappoint. I'd argue it's my favourite one of hers! Which is impressive, given the amount of books she has, AND given the fact I don't normally enjoy sports romances, but this was amazing. It really hooked me, I wanted to learn more about the characters, I was massively invested in the romance, the spice, the smut, everything.

Pitcher Perfect UK is everything you'd want from a Tessa Bailey romcom—fun, flirty, fiery, and full of heart. When a cocky American baseball star ends up in a quaint English village to help a failing cricket team, sparks fly between him and the no-nonsense local woman determined to keep him in line.

The banter is sharp, the chemistry electric, and the cultural clash adds so much charm. There’s just the right mix of humour, steam, and emotional depth to keep you hooked from the first chapter. Both leads are lovable in their own messy, stubborn ways, and their romance feels both chaotic and genuinely earned.

Whether you're a sports romance fan or just love a good opposites-attract love story, this one’s an absolute winner. Tessa Bailey has done it again!

Pitcher Perfect is a sports romance, meets fake dating, and meets enemies-to-lovers featuring a strong, sporty heroine, Skylar (a D1 softball player), and a flirty NHL rookie, Robbie, who begin a fake relationship to make Skylar's crush jealous.
