This is such a fun book and a great summer read! The introduction to Evie and Tom is nothing short of hysterical! I loved the way Liz let's the characters develop at their own speed. Evie is so full on and Tom so much more reticent. As the story becomes more complicated I loved seeing how they reacted.
The setting was so beautiful and made for a perfect background to the love story.
If you like a good romance, beautiful scenery and a well written book, then this is the book for you!

Tom, a libel lawyer, has bought a lovely house in Italy which he is having done up. He needs someone who speaks Italian to help him liase with the workmen. Evie is assigned to do the job by the gossip magazine that she works for. Their ulterior motive is for her to write an expose on Tom. She is desperate to break into the magazine world and thinks that she can do the job without anyone being upset- until she meets Tom and realises that she finds him to be a lovely person.

I loved the descriptions of Italy and want to book a trip!

She's sure it can all be sorted- but can it all end in a happy ever after?

A great read.

Many thanks to Net Galley

Two women, one man- the eternal triangle., in this case set against the background of a sensual Umbrian countryside. Lawyer Tom, handsome but in truth a little staid meets cute Evie and falls head over heals, little knowing that she's an undercover reporter. There's fun, frolics and few tears in this fast paced rom/com that will have you flying through the pages at speed.

“Oh what a tangled web we weave…”

Evie has been hired to help Tom navigate the Italian language as he has restoration work done on his home. He cannot communicate with the workers on what exactly his wishes are for this house and Evie is there to make certain he gets what he wants for his home … only that’s a sorta kinda thing since Evie is working on an entirely different agenda.

Yes, Evie is fluent in Italian and she can do wonders to improve Tom’s situation. But she’s not really who she’s making herself out to be. Evie wants to be an investigative reporter, she has big dreams for her future. Unfortunately for Evie she is working for the skankiest, dirtiest form of publication. What else can you call a magazine called Pure Dirt, huh?

Since Evie has met the handsome, charming Tom she is rethinking that expose she needs to write about him – but she needs the job, only she can decide if she wants the man even more.

Evie Undercover is such a fun story. I could feel for her predicament but really? Handsome love of your life vs nasty editor at an even nastier publication – I certainly know which one I’d pick. This story is chock full of fun, laughter, charm, sexiness and a believable couple.

If you are looking for a fun, delightful summer read – look no further than Evie Undercover.

*I received an e-ARC of Evie Undercover from the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. That does not change what I think of this novel.*

I really like Evie and Tom a LOT!

There is so much to like about this book. There are some giggles, at LEAST one tear for Evie's predicament, a great message, and no sex. What's so great about no sex in a romance novel? It's great because some people PREFER their romance novels like that, and they can give them to their daughters as an introduction to the books we love without filling their brains with sex details we don't want them to know yet. The raciest this book got is a couple steamy kisses (no mention of groping) and running hand-in-hand toward the house, a break in the scene, and then mentioning them lying down together and her placing her hand on his bare chest. NICE. I can't wait to give a paperback version of this book I won recently to my tween daughter, as soon as it arrives. I have it on Kindle, so that paperback can be hers. I love it!

What great message? Honesty is always the best policy. If Evie had told the truth from the start, then there would be no story. The way the story is told, though, with Evie's angst about her deception, shows that good people sometimes make bad decisions, and the longer you wait to tell the truth, the worse your predicament becomes. You can't run away from your problems. YOUR PROBLEMS WILL FIND YOU, WHEREVER YOU ARE! LOL!

Lastly, I'm an American woman who simply loves everything British, especially slang and the many words I have left to learn. Choc Lit books are a good read every time, I'm finding! Their "tasting panel" of readers pretty much guarantees a solid good read.

Why did I take a star off? The story is entirely predictable. I knew everything before it happened, and the surprises weren't really surprising. But that's okay. This book is perfect for when you want a light read that won't strain your brain with lots of twists and darkness. It's light, fun, and "tasty" AND tasteFUL! Imagine that! A Contemporary Romance you can let your tween read!

Thank you Choc Lit and Liz Harris for the opportunity to read this book! It's been out on Kindle for a couple years, but recently released in paperback, which I believe will make its way across the pond to the States in August 2015. Pre-order is available in the US for those who prefer hard copy. Good solid read. Buy the book!
