It definitely was not what I thought! This book drew me in from the first twist and then kept me gripped throughout. A really interesting storyline with plenty of twists and turns. A must read.

Another corker and what an ending! I was glued to the page, real world forgotten, breathless until the very end. Bravo Claire – I can't wait to read the next one!

I was introduced to Clare’s books (before becoming an an avid fan of her writing!) by a colleague who said I Let You Go had the best twist she had ever read. I didn’t believe her, until I was sat in the hairdressers with an open mouth and a desperate need to talk to someone who understood my shock. Clare’s latest book, which I was delighted to read early, claims to include another very unexpected twist. I was sceptical but….

Everything you think you know about the story you are reading is turned on its head with one, far reaching and completely unexpected, revelation. If I had been reading an actual physical copy of the book then I think I would have dropped it. And it continued too and I just couldn’t not carry on reading until I had finished it within 24 hours of starting (if I didn’t have kids and a need for sleep I could easily have read it in one sitting).

You need to read this book! It’s gonna be huge in 2026z

Thank you so much for allowing me to read and review.

A brilliantly crafted thriller that deftly engages with some of the more unsettling political ideologies shaping contemporary discourse. The narrative is both gripping and thought-provoking, balancing fast-paced suspense with sharp social commentary. It is a rare novel that entertains so compellingly while also provoking reflection on the real-world consequences of extremist beliefs.
