Description
In Stealing from Wizards Vol. IV: Arson, Kuro (a ½ lutin, ½ wizard teenager) remains at Avalon Academy for more magical mayhem, reluctant heroism, and poorly-timed duels. Trapped on the Academy’s island for a summer of make-up classes, he stumbles into a dangerous mystery that could reshape the world. Between dodging dragons, unraveling conspiracies, and baking cookies for creatures, Kuro must confront who he is—and who he wants to be. As the new school year begins, old enemies rise and magical chaos spreads, Kuro’s past and future collide in a final adventure that’s as heartwarming as it is exciting.
A Note From the Publisher2>
Canadian author Ryan Consell brings his beloved fantasy series to a thrilling close with Stealing from Wizards Vol. IV: Arson. Set for release on November 4, 2025, the final volume delivers the culmination of Kuro’s chaotic and heartfelt journey through a magical world that never quite welcomed him—but couldn't get rid of him either. With its mix of sharp humor, rich world-building, and unforgettable characters, the series has resonated with readers who see themselves in Kuro: misfits navigating a world that doesn't always make space for them.
Says Consell, “I’ve always been drawn to misfit stories, probably because I was a weird kid, myself. So many though end with the misfit becoming cool and popular, which never meshed well with my experiences as an oddball. I wanted a story where the weird kids could win the day while still being true to their strangeness, where they could be misfits as much at the end as the beginning.”

READER PRAISE FOR THE STEALING FROM WIZARDS SERIES
When it was already an hour past usual bedtime, I said
"ok, one more because I Love this book!" And he said "I do too"
When your twelve year old announces, "this is the best book I've ever read."
The characters are great, with cleverly crafted hints to keep you guessing about their secrets
throughout the book. The writing is witty and fun and included several passages that I
re-read just because I liked the sound of them or it made me laugh.
Loved this second story in the series, the 10 year old couldn’t put it down, I couldn’t wait for them to finish so i could start reading. A great wizard school adventure!
Whimsical. Endearing. Precise.
