Being a hotshot wildland firefighter is all I’ve ever known. It’s my greatest passion. As her brother’s best friend, I’ve always been Xander to her, but secretly I’ve always wanted to be more. She’s recently widowed, with two young kids and another soon on the way. With a heart locked up like Fort Knox after losing her husband, breaking down Teddy’s defences will be damn near impossible . . . but I want to show her that I’m here to stay.

OMG WHO IS THIS MAN?!

I freaking LOVE Xander!!!

Living next door to Teddy, he finds himself having to step in and deliver her baby when she goes into labour at home.

Teddy lost her husband in an accident, leaving her a single mum, and she struggles with her feelings for Xander and honouring her late husbands memory.

The chemistry between these two is soooo good!!!!

From the very first chapter of Honor, I found myself completely drawn into Danielle Baker’s world—a place where loyalty, love, and personal truth collide in ways that feel both raw and deeply human. This book surprised me; I went in expecting a simple character-driven drama and instead found an emotional storm that lingered long after I closed the final page.

Baker’s writing is rich with emotion, yet never indulgent. She balances tenderness and tension with a deft hand, allowing the story to breathe while keeping me constantly on edge. The protagonist’s journey through betrayal, redemption, and the meaning of integrity hit close to home. I couldn’t help but see fragments of myself in the moments of doubt and defiance. Baker captures that uncomfortable truth—that honor isn’t a rigid code, but a living, evolving force shaped by experience and pain.

What stood out most for me was the quiet power of the relationships. There’s a pulse beneath every conversation, a sense that every choice carries weight. I especially loved how Baker avoided the temptation to make her characters perfect. They’re messy, flawed, and at times infuriating—but that’s what makes them feel real.

The pacing isn’t fast, but it’s deliberate. This is a story that asks you to sit with discomfort, to reflect, to question what “doing the right thing” really means. And by the end, I found myself doing just that—thinking about my own boundaries, my own sense of honor.

In short, Honor is a beautifully written and emotionally intelligent novel that challenges as much as it comforts. Danielle Baker doesn’t just tell a story; she invites you to confront your own truths. It’s the kind of book that lingers quietly in your chest long after you’ve finished reading.

We're still on with the fire fighter romances and this one was another brilliant book in the trilogy!

I love an age gap romance, small town, forced proximity, yep! It ticked all of those boxes so well for me!

I've really enjoyed all three of these books and will absolutely be buying them all in physical form as soon as they're available!!

I've absolutely loved reading the Sky Ridge series and this was the perfect way to finish it off. Teddy and Xander were so beautiful together, tender and cautious but hot AF once they got together.

Xander was just such a swoony MMC, if you'd told me beforehand that I'd find the nickname Mama to be blush inducing I'd have laughed but boy, Xander can carry it off. The way he sees Teddy was just gorgeous and the way he gently but insistently demonstrated how he felt was lovely to read. I found his journey really touching, he obviously held so much trauma from his past but meeting Teddy just gave him the motivation he needed to finally move forward.

Teddy herself was such a wonderful FMC, the plus size rep was excellent, especially as it was plus size post-partum rep which I've not read as often before. The mirror scene will stay with me for a long time, not just because it was hot AF but because it was so tender and beautiful at the same time. Because Xander was showing her how she looks through his eyes and how beautiful she is, and I know how hard it can be to feel that beauty after having kids.

I absolutely loved the ending to this book, it was just the perfect cap on the series and gave me all the good warm fuzzies.

HONOR is written by Danielle Baker and is book 3 in the SKY RIDGE HOTSHOTS series, and I going on record to say that it is by far my favourite. Xander and Teddy are EVERYTHING. I couldn't get enough of this book and honestly never wanted it to end. The way Xander calls Teddy 'Mama' had me weak at the knees every damn time. That man is so perfect; the way he cares for Teddy and her kids, and is just an all-round amazing guy, you can't help but fall in love with him. This is the first book I've read by Danielle Baker, but I can guarantee you it won't be the last.

The last in the series.. for now I hope 🤞🏼

This book broke my heart and patched it right back up again! I was excited for this two characters story half way through the last book and just knew it wouldn’t disappoint.. but also shocked because I didn’t know it would have been them two.. considering how Teddy was married 👀 😢

Zander’s story itself was outstanding considering you think he’s going to follow in his dad’s footsteps and basically does when he goes out to the last fire.. 🔥 but Teddy fighting her own battle was just beautifully written!!

Without spoiling too much I have never been happier to get to the end of a book to see what was in store for them!

And holy spice… 😏 🌶️

This might be my favourite in the series it features the single mum trope which I love. Xander is a sexy grump who listens to the heroine Teddy. Teddy is adorable and I really enjoyed how Scottie and Violet featured so much in Teddy‘s life. The way they interacted throughout the story was beautifully written and I enjoyed every single page right to the end. This was my first book I’ve read by Danielle Baker, but I will certainly be seeing what else is available. This book was a perfect ending to the three book series and I recommend reading them all.

are we ok with this set of books and what they've done to us. no, me neither. because wow. the other two had me stilled. this one was no different. i almost dont have the words because i actually have too many. and id ramble, fumble, and believe it or not this review would be worse. but this series of books have been the absolute fire. someone has known their audience and cast a spell over their books and delivered them to us like little gifts. the suspense. the love. the wanting to but being scared to. the love from afar. the strong and kind stand by your side. the vulnerable and oh so painfully real way one might feel abut themselves. oh yes people we had all that and more. and of course written into a book about these two made it so scrumptious i wanted to stop and re-read so many time. i wanted to highlight parts. i wanted to buy this set immediately if i had the money to.
its worth reading the other two because you get the true feeeeeeeels when you do. but its not vital to this one.
i felt like it would be hard to get any timelines with this kind of story that might fit for all. but what Danielle manages to put into her book is true emotions and feelings about the topics she covered. and they arent always easy. the big feelings in life can throw you, and not at convenient times. and not always rational. they can make us stupid, or sometimes they can make us smart. and its people who love you who get you through, it people who love you even when you push them away through a vulnerability test, those that see through that and realise it but dont take it personally or like some evil task your committing. those are the people who love and are loved. who Stand the test. who are there and in doing so actually are the key to healing those they care about in return. because when someone catches all of you and understands you, it means the world.
this book was once again a fabulous read. it has so much depth and richness to it that far surpass it as just a romance. it was an all round feel in every corner of your heart and soul kind of book. just the thing for a cold and shivery evening.
Xander and Teddy like the other couples in the previous books are shining stars. the writers of these books have done the best jobs with them. and somehow even though they are all different, they all slot together but standalone perfectly. yum. yum to all three.
now all i have to contend with is how bereft i feel because i need more like this series and havent yet found them.

Honor by Danielle Baker
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Honor is the third book in the Sky Ridge series, and it leans fully into the emotional punch of rebuilding a life after loss.

This story pairs Xander, the grumpy, eternally single hotshot superintendent , with Teddy, a widowed single mum doing her best to hold everything together. There’s an age-gap, a best-friend’s-sister twist, and a simmering tension built on years of quiet pining. Xander fell first—and he fell long before he ever had the right to.

The book hits its stride in the way their lives collide: Teddy is all about her kids; Xander, who’s spent years avoiding attachment, is all about work and been a hotshot. However, suddenly can’t keep his distance from Teddie or her kids and he begins to see what he’s been missing being single all these years.

The spice was spicing in Honor, especially the mirror scene 🥵. If you know, you know 😉

At its core, Honor is about whether two people carrying very different kinds of grief can meet each other in the middle. The chemistry is strong, the connection believable, and the journey toward healing is handled with care. Fans of small-town romance, single-parent stories, and the grumpy-meets-sunshine trope will find plenty to love here.

A solid, heartfelt addition to the series—and one that might hit even harder if you’ve been following these characters from the start.
