Description
For lovers of epic fantasy with powerful world-building and slow burn romance. Full story spans three books.
Tropes: Epic Quest; Tragic Backstory; Slow Burn; Forced Proximity; The Waiting Evil; Hidden Antagonist; Swords and Sorcery; Dark Twists.
“May Destiny protect us from Darkness within this world and from that which hides within ourselves.”
Destiny had made a mistake. The four realms of Asteria have been plunged into decades of drought, its people are desperate and scattered. War is imminent after a thousand years of peace, and the renowned Seers of the Isle of Sea and Sky are heralding “The Coming”. The legendary Shadow Master, infused with the power of Chaos, is rumoured to walk the land once again.
To protect the future, Destiny must send his two Guardians of Light to the Mortal Realm with almost impossible quests. Dorien must find a woman with no face or name, who disappeared over a millennium ago. Only she can unlock the power of the Stone of Souls and bring back the rains. Alora’s task is to find the Stone, but first she needs to convince the mysterious and elusive Hunter to guide her, and she is not even sure he is mortal...
With limited access to their powers, the Guardians find themselves increasingly drawn into a world of desire, darkness, and deception. Memories of their previous lives surface, revealing haunting truths that bind through the Ages: love, loyalty, betrayal, and revenge. As they journey through the four lands, they begin to question the identity of those who surround them, and their strange, emerging connection with the past.

4.5 stars rounded up
This was the perfect mix of epic fantasy with a dash of romance. I'm an absolute SUCKER for a forgotten memory type of story and as the guardians slowly gained their mortal memories back I became more and more invested.
the world building?? the yearning?? the way the characters became interconnected??? just absolutely sensational and I need the next book rn
the only reason it's not a 5 star is purely vibes 😂 it just didn't give me that 5 star feeling but I think that could be down to the narrator? I will however be immediately purchasing this book and will happily reread it again at some point
