Description

Growing up isn’t always easy. A new baby? Learning to share? Having to stay home while Mom leaves the house? None of it feels fair.

Luckily for Remi, she has an older sister to show her the ropes. A Sibling’s Guide to Big Feelings provides a peek into five-year-old Evy’s life as she teaches her younger sister what she’s learned so far about feelings, communicating, and being part of a family.

Evy has learned from her mistakes and wants to help her younger siblings learn from them too. She wants them (and you!) to know that having big feelings like worry, frustration, anger, sadness, and jealousy are normal—and that there are healthy ways we can deal with them! Join along and let Evy be your guide on the feelings ride.

A Note From the Publisher

Born and raised on the South Shore of Massachusetts, Katie began her career at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dorchester, where she embarked on her teaching journey. It was there that she saw firsthand how challenging it can be for children to navigate big emotions. Inspired by her passion for helping others, she transitioned from teaching to writing, driven by a desire to offer tools for both children and their caregivers. Her debut book, A Sibling’s Guide to Big Feelings, was written with love and care to help families better understand and cope with intense emo- tions. When she’s not in the classroom or writing, Katie enjoys coaching youth boxing, combining her passion for mentorship and personal growth.

Advance Praise

"A Sibling's Guide to Big Feelings reads like a nursery rhyme, but without the rhyming ever feeling forced. I appreciated the liveliness of the writing, and the illustrations do a brilliant job of accentuating this. Whilst being fun and high-spirited, the book delivers important, strong, and valuable lessons to young children, and the balance between entertaining and seriousness is perfect." -- Readers' Favorite
