Description
What if the patient you’re trying to save is quietly dismantling your life?
Dr. Justin Wright is a respected New York City psychiatrist who believes he’s seen the worst the human mind can produce—until he meets Frank Devlin. Frank suffers from dissociative identity disorder, his fractured psyche splintered into multiple distinct personalities, each with its own memories, motives, and capacity for deception.
At first, the case is professionally fascinating. Then it becomes personal.
As Justin digs deeper into Frank’s past, the boundaries between doctor and patient begin to blur. Frank’s alters don’t stay confined to the therapy room. They follow Justin home. They manipulate his family. And they force him into a psychological game where trust is a liability and every truth has consequences.
The closer Justin gets to understanding Frank, the more he risks losing everything he’s sworn to protect—including his own grip on reality.
Dark, twist-driven, and psychologically intense, Altered explores identity, trauma, and the terrifying cost of believing you’re in control—and proves that once the mind turns dangerous, there’s no safe way out, only the next devastating reveal.

Altered was an absolute page-turner. The dynamic between the therapist and his patient, especially with the layers of multiple personalities, kept me completely hooked from start to finish. I was literally screaming at the book, begging the characters to put the pieces together because the tension was just that good.
At first, I wasn’t sure how the younger son’s storyline was going to fit into the bigger picture, and it left me feeling slightly uneasy in the best way. But by the end, everything came together so seamlessly that it made the payoff incredibly satisfying.
The suspense, emotional depth, and clever connections kept me guessing the entire time. I closed the book feeling both shocked and impressed, and already eager to dive into the next one. I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here!
