One year after her sister, Emma, died, Tasha has everyone back to her family villa in Greece to celebrate her son's birthday. Her son, Dom, shows up with his BFF, Theo, and two girls. This book takes us back to a year ago when Emma was around, as well as when Theo's mother was still alive. There are a lot of factors at work here. Why does Dom and Theo's friendship seem strained? Why is Theo drinking all the time? Theo's dad and Senator has his own secrets that are all tied to this family. I don't want to give too much away but all of these people have their own piece of the puzzle and the author does an amazing job putting them together. Loved this book!
This book was sizzling with suspense, the perfect summer read! It’s sun-soaked, fast-paced and it’s a definite the perfect holiday page turner!
This book is filled with dark secrets and twists that will knock you sideways! I loved the Greece backdrop I wish I was in Greece reading it! I’d highly recommend this book a massive five sparkling stars!
This novel has it all, glamour, beautiful locations, politics and missing people and add to that a death and you have the best possible reading material for you this summer.
Tash is a mom hoping to give her son the party he deserves for his birthday, even thought that means being with her ex husband and his new girlfriend on the island where her baby sister went missing a year ago. Sound like a lot doesn’t it? But there’s so much more to come. Boston and snowstorms add perfectly to this hot summer thriller.
I enjoyed this book so much and I hope to read more of this author.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
Glamour, complicated family dynamics, secrets and a yearning for connection all come together in this fabulously fast paced thriller. I really loved this book and raced through it.
Tash is holding a 21st birthday party for her son, Dominic, at her luxury villa in Greece. Everyone is coming, almost everyone who was there to celebrate the year before when Tash’s younger sister, Emma, went missing. Tash doesn’t believe Emma died, in spite of all the evidence to the contrary, and she is determined to use this weekend to figure out what really happened one year ago.
Tash split up with her husband after Emma’s disapearance, and she’s not sure why she agreed to let him bring his surprisingly young new girlfriend. Dominic’s friend Theo is acting wierdly and drinking far too much, but can they blame him after the unexpected death of his mother last year? As secrets begin to surface and tenstions rise between guests, the weekend takes on a life of its own.
Her Perfect Escape is full of exciting twists, turns and fabulous characters. With multiple points of view, the story felt so close, personal and authentic, the many fears, suspicians and desires overlapping to create a tangle of complicated emotions and survival instincts. Set in a luxury villa with yachts, a private beach, lots of champagne and a US Senator, it brings plenty of glamour and sunshine in amongst the angst and darkness.
This is a perfect and absorbing holiday read that will whisk you away to another world. Perfect for fans of destination thrillers full of twists.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for my copy of this book.
Last summer Tash and Megan’s sister disappeared in Greece. This year all the same people are back in Greece, to celebrate Tash’s son Dom turning 21. She fully believes her sister is still alive, can she use the summer to prove it?
This was told from the perspective of many of the main characters and jumped from the past to the current. This allowed the reader to know a bit more than the characters, but never the full story.
The author had me believing in characters and quickly mistrusting them with an ever changing and fast paced storyline. It was difficult to put down a the ending was one I genuinely had no idea was coming. I’ve finished and feel like i need a book 2 to find out the further fate of these characters! This would be a great book for a summer holiday (or at any time!)
This novel sizzles with suspense and is the ultimate summer read. Sun-soaked and irresistibly fast-paced, it’s the perfect holiday page-turner. Packed with dark secrets and jaw-dropping twists, the story kept me hooked from beginning to end. The vivid Greek backdrop added an extra layer of escapism—I only wished I were reading it on a beach in Greece myself. An unforgettable thriller that earns a dazzling five stars from me.

This was a book which grabbed my attention from the start and I could hardly put it down.
Tash’s sister went missing a year ago and she cannot accept that she’s dead. Meanwhile her marriage has broken up and her son Dom has been struggling.
A great read

This book is perfect for a great holiday read. It is a slick, sun-soaked destination thriller I loved from the start.
Set on a luxurious Greek island, it tells a story through dual timelines and starts with a suspicious drowning, family secrets, and a cast of privileged guests whose glamour masks plenty of motive.
It is filled with drama, pacy and the twists are sharp. The multiple viewpoints keep the intrigue interesting.
It's pure escapist suspense—polished, addictive read and perfect for anyone who enjoys a high-end murder mystery with a side of Mediterranean vibes.
Ooo I really enjoyed this it had everything I love in a good thriller, love a good family drama I found the characters interesting and complex I loved the setting I liked the paced the twist! Such. Good read

"Her Perfect Escape" is an engaging mystery thriller set in the beautiful scenery of Greece. The story follows Tash, who has planned an exciting weekend celebration at her gorgeous villa for her son's 21st birthday. She has invited everyone who was there a year ago—when her younger sister mysteriously disappeared.
Tash believes with all her heart that her sister didn’t drown and is still alive, somewhere out there. As the weekend festivities kick off, she feels determined to uncover the truth about what really happened, convinced that someone in the group knows more than they’re letting on. But as the celebrations unfold, things start to get a bit chaotic, and Tash’s plans don’t exactly go as she had hoped.
What I really enjoyed was how the story toggles between past and present, giving us little glimpses into the characters’ backgrounds and revealing their hidden secrets. It makes the story feel rich and layered!
At first, I thought the book started a bit slow, but don’t worry—the pace picks up quickly, and soon enough, I found myself glued to the pages.
There are some fun twists along the way, although I did figure out the main one ahead of time. Still, it didn’t take away from the fun! I found all the characters intriguing, even if some of them were a bit difficult to like at times. Their complicated personalities really added to the drama!
Overall, I had a great time reading this book. If you’re looking for a gooc summer read to add to your list, this one is definitely worth checking out!

A gripping book from the first to last page. The story switches to the now a birthday celebration weekend on a Greek Island to events that happened a year previously. It is a rollercoaster of a read with twists the reader does not see coming. Living luxurious lifestyles but hiding so many secrets. From paradise to hell. I would highly recommend this book. It is thrilling, dark, intriguing and chilling.
Rachel Wolf is a great author and I wait in anticipation for her next psychological thriller.
Thought the book was great so much so I bought the book on preorder from Amazon for a friends birthday gift. 🎁
July 2025, Tash's sister Emma disappears whilst they are on holiday at Tash and Mark's villa in Greece. Tash believes she is still alive even though the evidence points to her drowning.
Fast forward to July 2026, and Tash invites the same people back to the villa to celebrate her son Dom's 21st. Mark brings his new young girlfriend.
It doesn't take long before the drinking gets out of hand. People are hiding secrets, and friendships/ relationships start to spiral. Who is hiding what? Exactly what happened that July and how does it relates to what is happening now.
Told from multiple points of view, this has it all. The wealth, the glitz, and glamour are any of them happy.
A fabulous location, lots of champagne flowing, this is a fast-paced thriller that will keep you on your toes.
A great summer read.

Her Perfect Escape is exactly the kind of thriller you want to read on a beach : set on a stunning Greek island, but filled with tension, secrets, and quiet unease. One year ago, during her son Dom’s birthday weekend, Tash’s sister Emma drowned… and her body was never found. Since then, everything has fallen apart, her marriage, her life, her mental health. Still haunted and unable to move on without answers, Tash makes a bold (and slightly unhinged) decision: she recreates the exact same weekend, invites the same guests, and returns to the island. What I really enjoyed here is the group dynamic. Everyone has something to hide, even the people closest to Tash, and the tension between characters builds naturally as secrets start to surface. You can feel that something is off, but it’s impossible to fully piece it together. And that’s where the book works so well : the plot is cleverly constructed, the pacing keeps you hooked, and I genuinely couldn’t figure out who was responsible or why. Rachel Wolf manages to maintain suspense all the way through without it feeling forced. It’s a proper “beach thriller”, immersive, addictive, and just twisty enough to keep you guessing while still being an easy, satisfying read. I really enjoyed this one, thank you NetGalley for this ARC !

Her Perfect Escape is a tense, emotionally charged thriller where freedom comes at a dangerous cost. Wolf builds suspense with precision, turning every choice into a potential threat. Gripping, sharp, and impossible to step away from.

Wow! This had me gripped.
The writing style flowed, I felt like there was always something else around the corner.
Every time I thought I had a handle on what had occurred a year ago, something popped up that changed my mind.
An absolute page turner. I didn't guess the major twist, and the book had twists and turns in every chapter.
The characters were believable, including character flaws. I cant say too much as I don't want to spoil it. But the world has stereotypes for a reason.

a thriller with mystery behind it. what should be a nice getaway of celebration turns into a getaway ending in death. and noone is talking and the who's and why arent found.
the death was Tash's sister. who went into the sea and vanished. all Tash wanted was to go to the Greek Island and host a great party weekend. but then her sister vanishes and everyone is saying its a tragic accident. Tash cant help but believe no such thing. so a year later she is determined to get to the truth. getting all the rest of the attendees back to the same place, back in the same place. she will do all she can to peel back the layers to find out just what happened to her sister.
i really liked the dual timeline in this case was merely a year apart. so its still so fresh, its still so painful. and it only increases what could be simmering beneath all that is happening. you think how gorgeous this event should have been. a lovely villa, in a lovely place for a birthday celebration. when that turns sour it has an even deeper effect on the read.
Tash knows there is more to this. all the guests even her son seems to be carrying something or changed. but is this enough to suspect murder?
the fact this this book covers wealth, politics and all that power makes it feel all the more dangerous. what those three things can do to wield a certain humming of threat is brilliant.
but this was perfectly balanced with the emotional care and weight to the book. especially how much motherhood effects what you do and think. this relationship inclusion brings it back to ground level and more urgency to know just whats gone on.
