Description
A holy relic brutally defaced. A series of grisly murders. A secret that could change the world.
When a holy relic is defaced and a reclusive old prospector horribly murdered, Colorado Bureau of Investigation Agent Frankie Cash and Eagle County Sheriff Jim Colcord team up on their most enigmatic and dangerous case yet.
The murder is followed by the equally horrendous killing of a controversial scientist, tortured using medieval methods. The investigation uncovers further bizarre killings, a baffling money trail, and a fanatical secret society. But the key to everything is an alien artefact UFO researchers believe will change the world...
Meanwhile, the resurrected Neanderthals who vanished into the Colorado mountains during Cash and Colcord's last case are planning something that can only spell disaster for any nearby Homo sapiens.
This sequel to New York Times bestselling novel Extinction is a twisty supernatural-themed thriller full of gripping twists, perfect for fans of Michael Crichton and Scott Mariani.

I always love Douglas Preston titles, whether on his own, with Lincoln Child, or now here with Aletheia. You are always guaranteed a good fast paced, page turning read and Paradox didn’t disappoint. Very much enjoyed the interplay between Cash and Colcord. They make a great duo of characters, even when not always agreeing on everything. The story flew by, fast-paced and intriguing. Very much enjoyed this novel and I am very much looking forward to possible future novels in this series.
A great fast paced, very enjoyable story. Cash and Colcord team up again after the events at Erebus in the previous story. This time it's to investigate a strangely ritualistic murder of a reclusive old man living in the mountains. But not all is as it seems. Plenty of unexpected twists, plenty of action, and a satisfying conclusion. I look forward to Cash and Colcard teaming up again in the next book in this series!
Thanks to Netgalley, Aria & Aries Publishers, and Douglas Preston and Aletheia Preston for the free ARC. All opinions are my own.
