Description
"Bright-eyed figural characterizations of the flower and bees lend a retro vibe to this playful view of the pollination cycle." —Publisher's Weekly
One day, Little Bee’s life changes forever when a new flower friend sparks a plan to spread blooms far and wide—discovering the magic of pollination along the way. In this playful, gently rhyming story, fancy blends with fact to teach young readers about the real-life marvels of our natural world and the bees that fill it.
With whimsical illustrations by Katie Hunt, Little Bee and the Bloom engages children’s curiosity while showing how bees impact the foods we eat and the health of our environment. Complete with important “Key Bee Terms” and simple tips for helping pollinators, this debut picture book from Carly Kremer—founder of Beekeeper’s Naturals—is a charming celebration of food, friendship, and the wonders of nature.

This is 100% a must-buy. I don’t even care — preorder it.
The illustrations alone are absolutely gorgeous, like truly. They’re bright, whimsical, and just really fun to look at, and they pair so well with the story.
The writing is playful and gently rhyming, which makes it really enjoyable to read out loud, and it does such a great job explaining the pollination cycle in a way that’s easy for kids to understand without ever feeling like a lesson.
And this is where it really won me over — I have a preteen who loves conservation but is also very much in the “bugs are terrifying” phase. And when you get a “hmm… maybe I don’t have to panic around bees because they do important work” out of a preteen? That’s basically the highest possible praise.
I also really appreciated the extra material at the end — there’s a glossary of key terms and simple, kid-friendly ways to help pollinators, which makes it feel both fun and genuinely useful.
If a book can make a bug-wary preteen reconsider bees, it’s doing something very right.
