First of all I would like to thank Netgallery and Victory Editing for giving me an ARC and an opportunity to give my honest opinion about this book.
I absolutely fell in love with the story. I am not usually a fan of multiple POVS, but this book handled them perfectly! I genuinely enjoyed the perspective of all three sisters.
The conflict(s) had me worrying for them as if they were my friends! I got super attached to them. Plus sapphic representation is always appreciated

The Things We Never Said is a tender, emotionally resonant novel about three sisters whose unspoken truths shape their lives; it’s a thoughtful exploration of silence, family expectations, and the slow work of speaking—and it rewards readers who favor character depth and quiet revelation over plot fireworks.
Ofy Udy’s novel centers on three sisters bound by love and a pattern of withheld words, and from the opening pages the book makes its central question plain: what becomes of the feelings we bury and the truths we refuse to voice? The narrative’s strength is its focus on interior life and relational texture rather than on external drama; Udy spends her pages excavating the small, accumulative ways silence shapes identity, choices, and the distance between people, so the emotional stakes feel earned rather than manufactured. NetGalley The prose leans toward the intimate and accessible, with scenes that linger on domestic detail and family rituals—moments that reveal character through what is left unsaid as much as through dialogue—and this restraint gives the book a steady, contemplative rhythm that suits its themes. Structurally the novel favors a close, often empathetic point of view that invites readers to inhabit each sister’s private logic; as secrets surface and long‑held expectations are questioned, the book’s emotional arc moves from compression toward a tentative, hard‑won openness, which will feel satisfying to readers who appreciate gradual transformation. Amazon+1 At roughly 339 pages, the book has room to develop its characters without overstaying its welcome, and its pacing—measured, reflective, and character‑driven—means it’s best enjoyed by readers who like to sit with nuance rather than chase plot twists. While the novel’s focus on silence and internal conflict is its chief asset, some readers may find the lack of high external stakes or rapid plot movement less immediately gripping; the payoff is emotional rather than sensational, and the book asks for patience and attention to subtle shifts in feeling. Barnes & Noble Overall, The Things We Never Said is a compassionate, well‑crafted study of sisterhood and the costs of restraint—an intimate, quietly powerful read that lingers because it treats ordinary acts of courage (speaking, listening, forgiving) as the real work of healing.
