Description

Loew and Golem fight evil. One is human; the other is not.

Legend says that Judah Loew, who lived in sixteenth-century Prague, created the Golem—an animate being fashioned from clay and brought to life through rituals and Hebrew incantations—to defend the Prague ghetto from attack.

Loew is not a mythical figure—nor, as it turns out, is the Golem. Supervised for the past five centuries by a succession of wise men and women—a council known as the Sanhedrin of Golem, or SaGe—the Golem has been defending humanity from evil. To do so effectively, he has always been paired with a human champion—an aluf.

Sylvester “Sy” Loew is the current aluf, and the two—Golem and human—fight nefarious entities known as AIs, often risking everything.

But now a new kind of evil has arisen, one never seen before. It, too, is an AI—but of a different kind: an artificial intelligence.

Will the Golem and Sy be able to vanquish this new threat?

In E-VIL, award-winning author and artificial intelligence professor Moshe Sipper presents a gripping tale that blends globe-trotting adventure, ancient cultures, and mysticism with touches of science.

E-VIL is perfect for fans of Dan Brown, Steve Berry, James Rollins, Raymond Khoury, and Brad Meltzer.

This is a great story with excellent pacing; everything drives the story forward, nothing is wasted. I loved the characters, especially the two main protagonists but it is also quite the ensemble cast.I enjoyed the pop culture references and the use of humour, with good banter between the characters. I also liked the use of Jewish lore and the appropriate injection of science, art, and history. This was a great read and I look forward to more books in the series. Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the review copy.
