Description
Compassionate, unflinching, and musically precise, Steve Logan’s poems give voice to lives too often overlooked. He pays homage to the soul’s endurance, and makes ordinary lives unforgettable. Inside Stories offers us a quiet blaze of compassion: poems that sing with truth.
-Kate Rhodes, novelist and poet
Slipping between the observer and the observed, these poems are portraits where the painter seeks the subject’s ‘soul’. We view apparitions through a verbal mist, then, as if illumined by a shaft of sunlight, the subject comes alive with a vivid image or a striking turn of phrase.
Steve Logan’s concern is our relationship with our spiritual nature. But predominantly his thoughts stay nearer home: his South Wales upbringing, the people he knew then and now, and the twists and turns that made him the accomplished ‘song-poet’ he is today.
-Philip Ward, author and critic

📖✨ Inside Stories by Steve Logan ✨📖
This is a thoughtful and introspective collection of poetry that gently explores the inner lives we all carry but rarely share.
It feels reflective, personal and quietly powerful, inviting you to pause and really consider how we see ourselves and others.
The poems move between the self and the outside world, using imagined perspectives to uncover deeper truths. What begins as observations of others gradually becomes something more personal, revealing how much of what we see is shaped by our own experiences, assumptions and memories.
✨ A reflective exploration of identity and inner life
💭 Themes of perception, memory and self awareness
📖 A collection that feels both personal and universal
🤍 Moments of connection, loss and quiet understanding
🧠 Writing that encourages reflection rather than answers
There is a strong sense throughout that we are all trying to understand ourselves through others, that imagining is less about mirroring and more about interpreting. That idea runs beautifully through the collection.
A calm, contemplative read that feels best taken slowly, allowing each poem space to settle. Thoughtful, layered and quietly moving.

Inside Stories: Poems for a Troubled Age by Steve Logan was a small book packed with so a thoughtful collection of poems that we may encounter in our everyday lives, but sadly never talk about or share with others that are close and dear to us. Some of these poems I could relate to then whilst reading them. However, these where a personal collection of beautifully written poetry by the author Steve Logan.
When I opened my kindle or this book and start to read each poem, it made me sit back and think about what I have just read and think what if and then about the individual behind the poem.
Steve logan the author wrote from his heart and from deep in his soul soul. A book to treasure and a go to book if you need inspiration to get through the trouble part of every day's life.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Moondragon Books for my copy in exchange for an honest review.
