This book was a 4 out of 5 stars for me. I thought it was well researched and well written. There was a good amount of action and tension throughout the book that kept me interested, although it did start a bit slow. The characters were (mostly) likable and I enjoyed the character development, especially of Richard and his friends.

This is the second book in the series and I have not read the first one, so I was lost in parts of the story where references to events from the first book were made - I would definitely recommend that you read these in order.

I would recommend this book to fans of medieval historical fiction, knights, or the crusades.

As a person who has read so many books, out of all of them, this book really stood out. The book Soldiers of Christ is a great novel about Seargent Brother Richard who goes on so many expeditons around the borders of Livonia to fight Lithuanian people. During these 'adventures' he meets a girl. He falls in love with her but ultimataly knows that as a monk he will not be able to have a relationship with her. He also encounters many people such as Wolfgang who try to kill him. Wolfgang sets many agrivated attacks toward Richard in attempt to kill him. We later learn that there is someone behind the attacks, someone who is trying to get Richard killed. As you dive into this book you will find courage, love, suspense and so much more.
